Soo in iron banner I'm seeing on average players around light lvl 270-280. Some players are higher around 290ish and some lower around 250ish. But the majority of players that I've ran into are light lvl 270ish. Sooo if I'm a 309, how in the F am I able to die by them. It still takes the same amount of effort/dmg to kill a 270 as it does to kill a 305. What is the point of having lvls if they don't mean anything. This is the one aspect that ruins destiny for me. It's a scam. Everyone rushes to beat the end game activities to possibly get higher gear that offers no addition benefits for end game pvp "so called lvl advantages". Whatever the lvl advantage is, it's no where close to enough to even mention. If a player is 30+ lvls higher than you, should you be able to kill that player? Do you think that is fair? What if you were the 309?

13 AntwortenI saw a guy with 0 light yesterday still have 12 kills

What do you expect? To be invincible to lower light leveled people? Lol. Skill still plays a big part in Iron Banner, and judging by your stats your skill is below average.
-
Saw a level 220 place third on the opposing team... I lol'ed

3 AntwortenLight doesn't matter the attack level on your weapons does
-
You probably suck
-
Because all of the casuals would cry that they can't get kills. Its sad but the trashy scrubs must feel important.

Look at the damage curve they released. People can make up for the 5-10% damage reduction by shooting you a little bit more, and they are also 5-10% easier to kill. The advantage may be small, but it's there, you just have to figure out how to make the most of it.

Quickly I'd like to leave this little fact. I do agree the lvl advantages are fake as hell. But in halo 2 they had lvls from 1-50 and just because u were a 49 a 50 didnt shit on u. It was just to show u had played more and harder. Now u did get more exp toward ur rep if u best a lower player but u were no way stronger.

I lowered mine from 305 to 299 to use more effective guns over higher light.

1 AntwortenIron banner is a scam

Like being shotgun one shoted by a level 25 when you were level 30. Old banner
-
You're bad at shooting stuff without dying. That's why you can't kill them.
-
Nothing compared to the OG iron banner
-
It is to make the game somewhat balanced so they can enter without being wrecked everytime because they dont have stronger gear but yea it can be a bit ridiculous

3 AntwortenIt's only a tiny difference in the first 20-30 levels, so skill makes a bigger difference than levels. If someone is 20% better at the game, but you have a 5% damage advantage, you will still probably lose.

2 AntwortenIt is unbelievable how big of babies people in this community are. After reading these forums, I'm convinced that the majority of people posting here are 14 year old children that throw tantrums whenever they don't get exactly what they want. Bungie posted the power curve of the levels, if they made levels to where a 270 couldn't kill a 305 you or someone else would be on here crying like a baby because of that.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Darth CPA: 10/15/2015 12:49:14 PMThere is a level advantage, but depending on the level gap between two players it might not be very noticeable. If you look at the chart, a player has to be 10 light levels apart to equal delta 1 on the chart. At delta 2 the damage the lower level player is doing is 95% of the higher level. For most weapons that isn't enough of a drop off the change the amount of headshots it takes to kill. At 50 light levels apart the lower level is doing 10% less damage then you, that is enough of a difference to give you an advantage (hence the name "level advantage"). But it's not going to make you invincible nor should it make you invincible.

You just suck. I only die to those people if they are sniping or shotgun me when I'm not paying attention. 1v1 though? I win. Get good.
-
The level advantage has already been explained by other posters but generally, it only makes difference in borderline shots where a 2 shot pulse to the head should kill you, leaves you with a sliver of health. Low impact snipers may take 3 shots. Your survive-ability is improved but...you'd still get f*ked if you can't aim.

I think they need to increase the damage gap to really get rid of everyone using year one weapons.

2 AntwortenBungie just figured out a clever way to make people think this "limited time event" is worth a shit when it's simply regular crucible with fixed gear rewards. If you go in with the mentality that it's just regular crucible (and has all the same BS issues with regular) you stop caring about the light level BS Bungie spews.

Cause you suck

Roughly 10 light is equivalent to one level difference in the graph. Someone with 270 light still does 90% damage to someone with 310 light. Iron Banner is meant to be end game, but there is a difference between the end game and having done everything there is to do. Chill out, and stop complaining because someone manages to kill you at a disadvantage.

I am around 278 light level and definitely had to be craftier in my play and found myself running away from individual fights to join teammates because I was getting outgunned so easily.
