Made a post before where I called for a pvp red death nerf and said how prevalent it would be in Iron Banner and ToO. Got a lot of hate for it but oh well, I don't really give a shit. Lots of people got hate for calling for a Thorn nerf, Final Round, Sunbreaker, etc..... I should have originally made a post about pulse rifles in general instead of singling out Red Death but oh well.
Let's play a game... Go into an Iron Banner match. Then inspect each player. Count the number of Red Deaths. Then count the number of pulse rifles. Then count the number of ALL OTHER PRIMARY TYPES COMBINED. AFTER YOU DO THIS then come here and try to tell me that pulse rifles are not OP at all.
This shit is just as obnoxious as Thorn, take it down a notch please.
The issue is that it (and pulse rifles) outclasses all other primary classes. You can outsnipe snipers and scouts with red death. In ToO it gives you guaranteed instant health regen which allows you to fairly easily solo elimination teams if you know what you're doing. It -blam!-s with the dynamic of every firefight just as much as Thorn forcing you to take cover does, it's just that because it benefits the user nobody complains about it. My solution would be to make health regen not proc 100% of time on guardians (or require headshots to reward skilled usaged) and to bring the pulse rifle archetype ever so slightly down.
It isn't just Red Death however, pulse rifles are really too powerful now in general (Bungie you guys seem to be a little heavy handed with your nerfs and buffs. Make hand cannons not be total shit across the board please? Leave Thorn and TLW shitty, thats fine.)
Bungie please at least post some weapon stats for Iron Banner and ToO next week so I have some data to prove my point.
Oh also, I'll save you guys the time: "DrFaye you are trash lololol git gud!!!1111 I have 12.374 kd I am the best and I have no -blam!-ing life. How dare you ask for some balance in Destiny I will whine and cry and throw a lil tantrum because you attacked my crutch gun"
Please at least form a cohesive counter-argument as to why Red Death and pulse rifles are is fine the way it is instead of sounding like a 7 year old squeeker troll. Or stfu and gtfo.
I hope I will be dancing on Red Death's grave just as I danced on Final round, shot package, thorn, etc. Shits just as annoying at the moment. I'm sure it's inevitable at this point, I have been counting some Iron Banner matches where Red Death accounts for half of the equipped primaries.
EDIT: I know mommy and daddy didn't give some of you enough attention but don't look for it here. I'm not going to waste my time responding to trolls who can't even use logic to form a counter-argument. Don't waste your breath (or your keystrokes I guess....)
EDIT 2: Maybe I should spin it this way as people seem to hate hearing the dirty word "nerf": Let's BUFF all the other weapons besides pulse rifles. Does that hurt you a little less to hear it said that way? Same goal just different method and a shorter average time to kill. And please stop acting like balance is a dirty thing. In a game like Destiny with hundreds of unique weapons and more on the way it's inevitable.
EDIT 3: Thanks for the laughs trolls. You guys need to try harder though. Hard to take any of you seriously about anything when you don't have enough brain cells to debate me and resort to name calling and crying like a little girl lolololol
EDIT 4: For all you clever little boys... NO SHIT I AM USING RED DEATH! Why wouldn't I? I mean it's pretty much one of the most OP guns in the game and I would be at a disadvantage if I didn't when entire fireteams of 6 are using them. Also, would you prefer I never had any experience using a Red Death before I passed judgement on it? I wreck with this shit. Too much.
EDIT 5: lol still scrubs coming here to tell me to "git gud" even when they have 0.8kd and shit, too funny.
TL;DR Slight nerf to pulse rifles, buff autos and hand cannons back out of the gutter and leave scout rifles alone. Fixed your game for you Bungie. Balance is not "chasing the dragon" despite what your overly-emotional asses think, and don't blame me for the fact that Bungie doesn't know how to balance their game. Not all of us are cool with there being 1 primary choice.

Stop whining and use the gun that you like. Scrub

1 AntwortenStop crying like a little bitch and just get better at the game.

9 AntwortenI will not be silenced(uses swag regime with spinning up)

Honestly I hate the red death too but don't think it's op at all.... What I think is the problem is the servers are what need the buff, if they fixed that I don't think anybody would be talking about weapon nerfs or buffs.

3 AntwortenDear Bungie, Rock is overpowered, paper is fine. Sincerely, Scissors
not my saying just thought it was appropriate
3 AntwortenThis guy whines like a 2yr old.

I don't necessarily think Pulse rifles are over powered, but just have way way too much range. Honestly if Auto rifles got their range bumped up and their crit multiplier bumped than Pulse rifles would have competition. But for now, just like those shitty hand cannons Pulse rifles will remain over powered in their own way.

6 AntwortenIt is not as obnoxious as thorn. RD's exotic effect only applies if they kill you, Thorn was an automatic kill for the user if they managed a headshot and a body tag. And headshots at long range were not hard for any handcannon prepatch so lets not compare the two. I'll start with pulse rifles in general then elablorate on RD. Pulse Rifles are meant to fill the range between autos/HCs(which are in the same range zone), and scout rifles; naturally that makes them versatile because if you can make a scout or auto rifle user miss then the fight can easily go to the pulse rifle user. Scouts have a lower RoF so even one miss can mean the firefight is lost if the pulse rifle user lands all of his with 2-3 head shots. Against autos i tend to trade deaths a lot as making an auto miss once doesnt get the same effect as a scout due to the autos high RoF. So against an auto if the pulse doesnt get 2 bursts 5 of the 6 in the head then they will lose or trade deaths the majortiy of the time. In both those scenarios i am assuming that the range is not in favor of the pulse, that is fighting a scout at scout range(mid-long) and auto at auto range(short, just outside shotgun range) I dont see how either of those scenarios make a pulse rifle OP, just versatile. All the high impact pulse rifles have a lower RoF and a miss with a single burst tyically means a death for the user, so there is a trade off at close range for margin of error against autos. Against Scouts the roles are reversed the scout has the lower RoF and the pulse gets that advantage in the margin for error. Essentially what that means is if your running scout, the closer you are the more important it is for you to get precision hits and misses will usually result in a death. If your running autos just dont engage in long range fights, thsoe are times when running is better. Pulse rifles give you an opportunity(not a sure win) at both types of engagements. Red Death The reason Red Death is so prevalent in my opinion is the lack of down time that users benefit from. For a newer player that isnt accustomed to the recovery system and how the stats work the RD is ideal because they can get right back into action after a kill, a playstyle that is certainly more familiar for CoD players. For veteran players it allows them to spec no recover in their stats and max out their armor or agility and still have the benefit of recovery from the RD perk. Now what makes it even more effective over other pulse rifles at all encounters is the other perks(unflinching/High Calibre rounds i believe) that significantly reduces flinching from damage taken and increases flinching in opponents, these really allow it to compete against the both the close and long range groups as they make landing head shots less of a burden and make it harder for the enemy to land them on yourself. Handcannons have been misused since Year One. From what i understood they were supposed to be in the same range class as autos however they were intended for players who preferred precision over spraying with an auto rifle. However with the aim assist and range on HCs they were able to be used for all ranges, even cross map assuming the enemy wasnt good with a sniper. Anyways they could be used at current auto, pulse, and scout ranges and that was never intended. Not sure how you use HCs(or if you do), but since you mentioned them im assuming you do, but they are only supposed to be used at auto range if your trying to kill someone farther out than that then its just misuse of the gun. A lot of my friends switched to scouts as they now are the most similar to old HCs just without the higher RoF for closer encounters.

6 AntwortenLeave it. It's fine. Red death is like thorn. So may people were using it because it was an excellent pvp gun. Red death is the new thorn. We all knew this would happen. You are getting rekt by it because there are more out there now so it feels unfair. You aren't going win if you are solo against a team of red deaths. Take your licks and move on. Don't own a y2 red death btw

1 AntwortenLol...k... So no fix mentioned, just a rant?

5 AntwortenFirst was the thorn now red death? Stop whining and play the effing game

6 AntwortenDude do you have a hacksaw f**k the red death its trash compared to my aimbot hacksaw.. I dont call for nerfs i just counter theres plently of counters.. That sunbreaker tho

3 AntwortenThis isn't the first post I've seen for nerfing Red Death, but I still have to slightly disagree. I've been using RD for the past few months once I realized I sucked at using hand cannons effectively. And yes, I am mediocre at crucible (if you look at my hunter, the k/d is actually a bit flawed because I restarted that character for TTK. So in actuality, it should be a bit lower). Yet, I'm consistently killed by shotguns (the raid shotgun and Conspiracy Theory are the biggest contenders), Suros, Hawkmoon (oh my god, all of the Hawkmoons), Zhalo Supercell, Hawksaw, Thorn, the Last Word, basically any scout rifle and the list goes on and on and on. I think since the patch I've been killed by another Red Death probably from 5 different guardians? I just haven't seen this "OP Red Death" you speak of. If you find it though, please send it my way as I need all of the help I can get! Tl;dr : there are so many other guns that can easily outpower Red Death when placed in the hands of slightly skilled guardians.
-
4 AntwortenI use my exotic for black spindle so... When I don't, I prefer hawkmoon for close quarters, one of the most satisfying weapon to use.

Gun= a noobs best friend

Bump 2 op 4 me.

1 AntwortenThere are major flaws with your request. Quite simply, when something gets nerfed because of outcries that it's OP, then the entire class is nerfed. But that isn't the only flaw. Bungie has a history of OVER-nerfing something. And when that weapon, or class of weapons, gets nerfed, then another weapon, or class, becomes the next OP! And then, the whining that this weapon or that weapon is too OP and needs to be nerfed becomes nothing more than a vicious circle. Just leave it alone, and find a way to adapt or overcome. Either, don't play PvP, avoid those using said weapon, or, get one of your own. Can't beat 'em, join 'em! Besides, I haven't really seen that many Guardians using the Red Death. Hell, and I am sure that a majority of PvP'ers will agree with me on this, but most of my deaths is from the Conspiracy Theory. Freakin' range on that thing is ridiculous. Do you think I should beg for a nerf on shotguns??
-
Enough with the crys for nerf!!!!! You lot made so many guns useless in pve,I used to use hand cannons all the time in pve, often switching what I used depending on the situ, since the nerf I won't touch them as with little ammo they ain't viable anymore, then it nerf the next thing because of pvp. It's harms the game and if you all want pvp go play a pure pvp game not a game that was supposed to be pve. I love pvp but not in destiny,to much lag and lag switchers, played iron banner for an hour and left as it was ridiculous, not even fun anymore kinda getting sick of all the good getting sucked out the game because of cry baby pvp players who can't handle being killed
guaranteed instant health regen
The health regen is only after you successfully kill someone or something, so it's not guaranteed unless your kill is guaranteed. As for the Health Regen, I saw this a lot when Thorn was rampant. People often claimed Red Death was a counter to the Thorn, because it would heal you. The way Red Death's health regen works is it instantly begins to start regenerating. It does not fully heal you. Because it works this way, the Thorn was actually the counter to Red Death. Every time the poison ticked, the health regen gets canceled, meaning you need another kill to activate the regen again, and if you only regen 10% of your shield before you get hit, your regen stops there. Basically the way to shut down Red Death is to apply constant damage. If you get hit by anything at all the regen stops and you either have to pick up another kill or hide to get your health back. Furthermore, Pulse Rifles in general are unforgiving. If you miss the first shot, you're locked in to 2 more. Guns that have a lower RoF and higher Impact, like Red Death are even more unforgiving, since if you miss any given shot you have to wait longer before the next burst comes out. Compared to Auto Rifles, especially Suros, the constant timing between shots makes it easier to track and land 3 consecutive shots on a moving target. What makes Red Death strong is that it has amazing sights, some of the best in the game in my opinion, coupled with the health regen which provides quick turn around to be able to fight again. In addition, the majority of fights tend to take place in or around prime pulse rifle range. The key to dominating Red Death users is making them miss a shot, then punishing them afterwards, be it with a grenade, jump, slide, crouch or strafing. Keeping constant damage on them removes their regen, which takes Red Death down a notch already. I got my Red Death on my first run through of VoG and it was the first exotic I both got and maxed. I've used this gun since I got it religiously, even when there were more desirable guns. I'm glad Red Death is finally getting some recognition as the beast that I always saw it as. Hopefully they don't change Red Death, but instead increase a few other guns to keep a healthy amount of competition for this gun.

Why don't we just nerf everything in this game?!
-
Red death actually requires you to aim for the head ... Not line thorn before. I don t think it is overpowered, just more people use it nowadays
-
3 AntwortenRed deaths ttk is matched by other guns just fine, scouts need a buff but before red death gets a nerf it doesnt need let's talk about how shotguns still run rampant and how full teams of sunbreakers with god tier shields are dominating.
-
3 AntwortenI use ace of spades
-
6 AntwortenNearly all pulse rifles, hand cannons, and scout rifles are a three shot kill. If you have the gun skill, you beat red death by landing three shots before they do. Red death still requires three shots to kill. That is why no nerf is needed. Health regen doesn't matter if you out gun them.
-
2 AntwortenRed death needs no nerf. It's already been nerfed with the last patch. What needs to happen is the other weapon classes need brought up to par. For example auto rifles still suck ass. Damage drop off is way too close and they didn't get a good enough damage buff to begin with. Not to mention they nerfed the shit out of stability.

2 AntwortenIt's fine.
