Made a post before where I called for a pvp red death nerf and said how prevalent it would be in Iron Banner and ToO. Got a lot of hate for it but oh well, I don't really give a shit. Lots of people got hate for calling for a Thorn nerf, Final Round, Sunbreaker, etc..... I should have originally made a post about pulse rifles in general instead of singling out Red Death but oh well.
Let's play a game... Go into an Iron Banner match. Then inspect each player. Count the number of Red Deaths. Then count the number of pulse rifles. Then count the number of ALL OTHER PRIMARY TYPES COMBINED. AFTER YOU DO THIS then come here and try to tell me that pulse rifles are not OP at all.
This shit is just as obnoxious as Thorn, take it down a notch please.
The issue is that it (and pulse rifles) outclasses all other primary classes. You can outsnipe snipers and scouts with red death. In ToO it gives you guaranteed instant health regen which allows you to fairly easily solo elimination teams if you know what you're doing. It -blam!-s with the dynamic of every firefight just as much as Thorn forcing you to take cover does, it's just that because it benefits the user nobody complains about it. My solution would be to make health regen not proc 100% of time on guardians (or require headshots to reward skilled usaged) and to bring the pulse rifle archetype ever so slightly down.
It isn't just Red Death however, pulse rifles are really too powerful now in general (Bungie you guys seem to be a little heavy handed with your nerfs and buffs. Make hand cannons not be total shit across the board please? Leave Thorn and TLW shitty, thats fine.)
Bungie please at least post some weapon stats for Iron Banner and ToO next week so I have some data to prove my point.
Oh also, I'll save you guys the time: "DrFaye you are trash lololol git gud!!!1111 I have 12.374 kd I am the best and I have no -blam!-ing life. How dare you ask for some balance in Destiny I will whine and cry and throw a lil tantrum because you attacked my crutch gun"
Please at least form a cohesive counter-argument as to why Red Death and pulse rifles are is fine the way it is instead of sounding like a 7 year old squeeker troll. Or stfu and gtfo.
I hope I will be dancing on Red Death's grave just as I danced on Final round, shot package, thorn, etc. Shits just as annoying at the moment. I'm sure it's inevitable at this point, I have been counting some Iron Banner matches where Red Death accounts for half of the equipped primaries.
EDIT: I know mommy and daddy didn't give some of you enough attention but don't look for it here. I'm not going to waste my time responding to trolls who can't even use logic to form a counter-argument. Don't waste your breath (or your keystrokes I guess....)
EDIT 2: Maybe I should spin it this way as people seem to hate hearing the dirty word "nerf": Let's BUFF all the other weapons besides pulse rifles. Does that hurt you a little less to hear it said that way? Same goal just different method and a shorter average time to kill. And please stop acting like balance is a dirty thing. In a game like Destiny with hundreds of unique weapons and more on the way it's inevitable.
EDIT 3: Thanks for the laughs trolls. You guys need to try harder though. Hard to take any of you seriously about anything when you don't have enough brain cells to debate me and resort to name calling and crying like a little girl lolololol
EDIT 4: For all you clever little boys... NO SHIT I AM USING RED DEATH! Why wouldn't I? I mean it's pretty much one of the most OP guns in the game and I would be at a disadvantage if I didn't when entire fireteams of 6 are using them. Also, would you prefer I never had any experience using a Red Death before I passed judgement on it? I wreck with this shit. Too much.
EDIT 5: lol still scrubs coming here to tell me to "git gud" even when they have 0.8kd and shit, too funny.
TL;DR Slight nerf to pulse rifles, buff autos and hand cannons back out of the gutter and leave scout rifles alone. Fixed your game for you Bungie. Balance is not "chasing the dragon" despite what your overly-emotional asses think, and don't blame me for the fact that Bungie doesn't know how to balance their game. Not all of us are cool with there being 1 primary choice.

Leave pulse rifles alone and buff the other weapon types like the handcannons and assault rifles
-
You think Red Death is OP? Lmao come on man
-
It's because auto rifles and hand cannons are useless at long range. What idiot wants their bullets to go into thin air when they can use a scout rifle or a pulse rifle. FYI - the red death and Suros regime are widely used in the crucible because they regenerate health. Making it a good choice of weapon for low recovery builds. If you have full armour full agility and the red death you have a solid build right there. Your just going to have to put up with it like everybody else and trust me it would be way worse if reforging was still a legendary thing.

The red death has always been a good gun and is not the only thing that regen health I honestly don't think much needs to be done to it but pulse rifles as a whole absolutely agree with u. Hand cannons are pretty bad and auto rifles still suck. I'm happy with where scout rifles are at but even at long range they will loose out to 3 quick Bursts from a bad juju or hawksaw which is just insane. 90% of every lobby is pulse rifles. I ran in to a bigger variety of weapon types before ttk and xur selling the last word. How is this any different than thorn last word?
-
Well lime handcannons and auto rifles the range nerf (how close you have to be to actually do mac damage i crucible) didnt really effect puslerifles, but if you buy a hawksaw strafe a bit you can outgun any wepon in crucible, excluding lmgs and what not

Thorn was a two hit head kill. The only pulse rifles I do t want re introduced is the spare change and messenger type damage models. Trials starts. Then pulse rifles are a REAL problem. Two burst head kills.

8 AntwortenBearbeitet von WHITEYTHEMAN: 10/16/2015 11:20:29 PMAll you have done is insult people in this post and that literally makes everyone come to one conclusion. Someone kicked your a$$ in crucible with red death and now it must be nerfed to please you and make you better. And yes i see you are using it as well. So News flash here bud, you lost, get over it. Someone out skilled you. Someone's better than you but you can't handle it so you look for any excuse to take away from the fact that you aren't god in crucible. Once you realize the world isn't all about how you want destiny to play maybe you will start doing better

I have yet to be killed by red death...

Monte carlo

2 AntwortenThis is my personal opinion, I like the zhalo supercell it's what I use for IB & I come in first most of the time for my team. I think it's based on play style I die from mainly supers

To settle this debate an experiment should be conducted. Find a willing participant with low PvP stats and get them to use only a fully upgraded red death in PvP for one month. Then at the end of said month recheck their stats.
-
*Does exactly what you say we should* Nope. This not OP. Wheres Supreme Butthurt when you need him?
-
Nerf it if you want. But it sucks for people who use it in pve they'll get short end of the stick yet again. And imo it won't matter I've seen terrible players use these "op" weapons and still they're not so great. It's not like if you're horrible at PvP just grab a red death and you'll be an invincible killing machine. Skilled players (I'm only average) will always kick a$$ no matter what weapons are available. So what's next banning op players.
-
Red death isn't for noobs. Those "noobs" just figured out how to make it easier on themselves by using a weapon of their choice. I'm a year one player, and while I NEVER enter the crucible, I've almost always used red death. I'm not a noob, but apparently me using my favorite pvp gun makes me one?

1 AntwortenHawkmoon still hits the 1 mile headshot it cracks me up
-
no. you see crying that everything you get killed by needs a nerf is dumb. everything has a counter and that will involve some skill. reddeath aside from the exotic perk doesnt do anything any other gun in the game does if you shoot someone in the head with it. people use what they like to use and it isnt for you to dictate to people what they use in game. i have run bad juju in pvp forever but i switch it up depending on how a match is going. example i use scouts on sniper maps, hand cannons and shotgun on close quarters maps. look your cries for hand cannon nerfs meant something else was moving to the forefront. i also dispute your claim that all you see is pulse rifles because i see just as many suros, supercell, montecarlo, boolean, tlaloc. the only weapon problem in gaming is the inability to nerf peoples egos...

10 AntwortenBearbeitet von XxFILOVIRIDAExX: 10/17/2015 5:29:18 PMThey should buff the other weapons instead of nerfing everything. All nerfing does is make a bunch of useless weapons. Balance is key. I would rather all weapons be more deadly. This way we would have more choices. Instead we are forced to use a few weapon types because the others are significantly weaker. The way the game is going all you whiners will have us running around with pillows sprouting rainbows from out our asses.

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von Dr_Toxiic: 10/17/2015 8:58:46 PMWell no shit? Cause its the best weapon after they do get nerfed your gonn make a new post about the next OP weapon
cry baby
2 AntwortenNowhere near as out of control as thorn and TLW were. Scout rifles and hawkmoon and wrecking just as bad as pulse rifles.
-
Actually the headshot regen only is a pretty good idea
-
1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Speck311: 10/17/2015 6:44:34 PMNowhere near as bad as the hand cannons were. What irritates me the worst by far is all the moronic noobs who can't get a kill if their RL depended on it unless they are 3 centimeters from you and press the button. Rambo noobs meta probably covers at least half the players.

7 AntwortenNever thought I'd see a day where the words "pulse rifle" and "op" we're used in the same sentence. Next someone will be saying how No Land Beyond needs a nerf
-
3 AntwortenAll the primary weapons seem pretty balanced to me. Not so sure about hand cannons though, I never really used them before and I rarely see any besides hawkmoon now. But I can usually do pretty well regardless if I have a scout, pulse or auto rifle. And when I do get outgunned its normally at the intended range of the weapon I was facing when the one I'm using isn't as effective, unless I screw up.
