No trolling, i was genuinely wondering, surely Microsoft have a lot more money than Sony. So how does Sony keep outdoing them in the big deals such as Destiny, Uncharted and now Black Ops 3. It makes no sense to me.

Methinks Bungie has a secret resentment towards Microsoft from owning Bungies soul in Halo 1-3... Just my observation.
-
13 Antwortensimple ms was offered and they did not pony up enough, sony did.. for sony is just as big as ms...for sony is not just games...
-
8 AntwortenSony gets the exclusives because they were first offered to Microsoft but Microsoft turned down the offer.
-
1 AntwortenSony actually spends their money on exclusive deals, ms just puts it in their pockets. It was pretty obvious from the start that Sony was gonna come out swinging after PS3, so yeah, numbers don't lie
-
Destiny is two fold.. Ms all but nuked their bungie bridge with how they handled halo.. And Activision has pockets plenty deep... Uncharted is a console exclusive fostered in house.. And black ops three.. Well Activision is much friendlier with Sony due to destiny success.. And ps4 is killing it in console sales.

11 AntwortenThe PS4 is outselling the Xbox One. The publishers will flock to the better selling console. Simple as that. If the Xbox one pulls ahead somehow, or the Xbox Two outsells the PS5, they'll switch back. And Uncharted has always been PS exclusive. Naughty Dog is traditionally a PS exclusive dev.
-
1 AntwortenCause Microsoft uses it to improve the network, console and 1st party releases.
-
Two reasons mainly. First, PS4 is far outselling XB1 in just pure console units moved. The more popular console has the the easier time making a case for exclusivity. Second, have you ever hear the phrase "necessity is the mother of invention"? Well that applies to Sony here. Playstation and the gaming side is one of the only profitable divisions of Sony. Most of the others just bleed money. So it makes sense to invest in things that will continue to bring in profits. Paying third party developers for exclusives is part of that strategy.
-
1 AntwortenMicrosoft is more focused on 1st party releases from studios they own than 3rd party releases from studios they don't own.
-
Microsoft doesn't care about exclusives they just care about the community
-
Well think about it Microsoft makes billions more a year than Sony, but the gaming industry for Microsoft is so small and irrelevant to their budget that they aren't as concerned with minor DLC and exclusive content loss. Sony actually stated (I'll have to find the link) that because their gaming industry is becoming so profitable to them, they would start to pull development on their phones and TV's and focus on consoles and internet services. Microsoft has its money so many other things, why would they care about exclusive content in a market that makes them virtually little to no money (speaking purely about console production cost vs. console sales). Sure they make money off selling the games, but to pay even more money for exclusive content on something that they are already taking a hit on isn't plausible. Sure they are going to keep the current games they have (Halo, Gears of war..etc) to make their fans happy, but they aren't privy to extending their money out to get more content like Sony.

-
37 AntwortenBecause playstation out sells Xbox 2 to 1
-
Exclusivity deals usually goes to the popular console, and in this game generation, it is the PS4.
-
4 AntwortenMy theory is coz Microsoft bought halo
-
1 AntwortenMS has said multiple times they will no longer pay for exclusives
-
Well I mean uncharted has only been on PlayStation so that's a thing

1 Antworten*MS saw the crap that Bungie was trying to push out in a hurry and said no. True Bungie has been trying to make up for year 1 mistakes and has done well overall.* * Activision/CoD franchise as whole has been victimizing the younger Gen since World at at War/Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare day's where player's loved the campaign and multiplayer was the endgame.* *The clear winner of the E3 Games and other gaming Demo's this year was Xbox*

Their Tender Bid was higher than Xbox's one... Quite simple really
-
I don't know which has more money, but both have plenty. The question is which is devoting more money to marketing in this area, and apparently, the answer is Sony.

In a word?
$$$$$$$
Because microsoft is run by ants (if you get it)
-
7 AntwortenIt's pretty equal when it comes to exclusives. Ps has uncharted and god of war. Hopefully we will see a new gow soon. Ms has scalebound and sunset overdrive. Sounds fair to me
-
The only thing they beat in exclusives is destiny content, there is nothing on ps that'll make me go back. They got no good exclusive games with addicting multiplayer like halo / gears of war
