What's with all these 'I'm a girl gamer' posts?
I mean seriously... Why does it matter? Don't we all want to be acknowledged simply as just gamers? As people who can pick up the controller and kick butt? As people who deserve respect and not crude jokes? Shouldn't people be willing to help all fellow gamers, not based on gender?
It seems to me these posts do more of a disservice than anything. Asking for help based on gender seems counteractive to the girl gamer cause. I'd rather have help because someone sees 'oh snap, they don't see that Taken Lieutenant breathing down their back because they're busy fighting off those Acolytes and Knight, I'll just kill the Lieutenant real quick.'
I'm sorry if this makes people mad. But it's kind of truth... So, bring it on.

Those posters, like you (likely) know that it is a way to get a free 5k replies. What I don't get is why anyone cares how many replies they get. It isn't like you get anything from it... I guess it is an attention thing?

When it all comes down to it gender shouldnt play a role in this.
