Bungie, you're currently failing with regards to this game's PvP aspect, especially with the release of TTK. It's gotten to the point that I can't wait until Halo 5 is released and this game gets relegated to "only on Tuesdays" status. The word "competitive" should never be used to describe the Crucible in its current state; the idea is laughable.
1. Your match-making system is atrocious. One game my team will win by a landslide, the next game we'll be getting curb-stomped to the point where I wonder why I even bother. Close games are a rarity it seems. Three times in a row you'll spawn me into a game that's already hopeless, and as soon as my character appears I'm taking a rocket launcher or a super into the face. Your mercy rule system sucks and doesn't turn on nearly as often as it should.
That's not even my main problem though. The fact is, I'm tired of how your system literally puts no effort into pairing premades against other premades. I check the roster before every game, and 9 times out of 10 there will be at least one 3+ man premade in the lobby. 9 times out of 10 I'll also be on the team full of randoms having to face off against that premade. But what really rustles my jim jams is this: if there are multiple small premades in the same lobby, the system will almost always put the premades on the same team and put all of the randoms on the other team. I honestly can't even. This game's PvP is an exercise in frustration when I'm consistently having to play with a team of randoms against a team of 3+ coordinating people. Why you guys make no effort to have premades play against other premades, I'll never know.
inb4 "just play in your own premade". I have no desire to have to group up with friends every time I want to casually play Crucible. I'm not going to play like a try-hard if it's not IB or ToO. I don't even care about playing against premades from time to time; it's the fact that I'm almost always playing against a premade. That probably goes for most people, but most people don't check the roster beforehand.
Honestly, if the system went about prioritizing premades against other premades, I might actually be encouraged to make my own premade outside of IB or ToO.
2. The week before TTK released and 2.0 dropped was the best, most balanced week the Crucible has ever seen. Weapon balance has been as good as it has ever been outside of Pulse Rifles being slightly over-tuned, as well as some random guns like Tlaloc. But I digress. My main gripe is the fact that Stormcaller and Sunbreaker are completely unbalanced in 6v6 PvP and they've taken what little skill was left out of this game. See, before these supers were introduced, every Y1 "mobile" super had a down side: Golden Gun had no damage resistance and Bladedancer required melee range.
With the introduction of Stormcaller/Sunbreaker, this balance has been completely ruined; there's no weakness to either of these supers, especially Sunbreaker - both supers are mobile, both supers are ranged and both supers have damage resistance. Hammer of Sol tracks its targets (very similar to Proximity on rocket launchers), heals on kills, has up to 7 shots and lasts way longer than every other super. The drain rates for HoS and Stormtrance are laughable compared to the other mobile supers. GG gets less than half the shots, no damage shield, no heal on kill but.. double the drain rate? lolwut? Logic, not even once. In a 6v6 environment these supers are simply broken, especially with randoms. Nightstalkers only make a trivial difference without coordination, and even then it won't be enough.
These new supers need to be tuned, period. There's a reason that Golden Gun didn't have damage resistance - because everyone and their mother knew that it would be retardedly broken. Yet, that's exactly what you've given Sunbreakers and (for the most part) Stormcallers. I'm not asking for them to be neutered, but something needs to be done. Either increase the drain rate, lower the damage resistance, get rid of cauterize or something.
inb4 "but the class revolves around its super". This game's entire current PvP system revolves around Supers. Do you have any idea how a team who coordinates their supers, especially around heavy spawns, can pretty much put a game out of reach in the matter of a minute? When you can average 10+ kills a game with your super alone, which is doable by any competent Sunbreaker or Stormcaller, there's a problem. Stormcallers can't even use that excuse; they have great grenades and probably the most absurd melee in the game. The fact that they're flying under the radar while Sunbreaker takes most of the blame is hilarious.
Supers make or break games. Everyone without their super is relegated to the same basic gunplay (for the most part). Bad grenades/melees aren't a good enough excuse for having the ability to wreak havoc 3+ times a game. Sunbreakers can still be powerful, but they need a weakness just like every other super, whether its a decrease in DR or a much faster drain rate. If GG/Nightstalker users only have 10 seconds to get their shots off once they activate their super, there's no way that Titans should have nearly triple the amount of time. Stormcaller needs a reduction in its chaining ability, its drain rate or something. That super is just as ridiculous when used correctly and people are currently oblivious to it.
/end rant
inb4 10 different guys posing as butthurt
inb4 a bunch of people with 1.0 KDRs downvote this thread and tell me I'm wrong
inb4 "superz are spose 2 b super lolz"
inb4 "hunter so point invalid"
If your KDR is below 1.5 and you disagree with me, I literally could not care less, so save it.

Funny thing is when I pop on my bladedancer I nigh always manage to kill the new supers with an old one. A bladedancer super can take a single hammer and survive(even with minimal shields) and by the time he's throwing the second one I will a) been in his face for far too long b) 3Xrazor's edges(yes you can spam 3 of them in the time Sol throw's 2 hammers). More than likely it leads to an exchange but I don't care . it's worth it to take out the hammer.

Never really enjoyed the PvP all that much. Trials is really fun though. Other than that its all about PvE!!

Bearbeitet von hoodrych24: 10/12/2015 6:48:54 AMGot to agree on all points here. Feels like i run into premade teams constantly when playing solo which is what i do a majority of the time. While i understand bungie wants to encourage people to team up and such imo they really need to add a ranking system and a mercenary playlist. Running into fireteams of 3 or more is just the worst experience sometimes especially if they coordinate using supers during heavy. It turns into such a huge pub stomp vs uncoordinated people feels just unfair at times. As to your point about Sunbreaker yes it is too strong theres no way around it. People like to say it should be op because its based around the super but if you look at a Gunslinger hunters talent tree all their talents are based around golden gun as well and yet Hammer totally outclasses golden gun. You can literally team wipe and keep on trucking. I cant count the amount of times ive been hammered, died, and respawned only to have that same titan round the corner and hammer me again just before the super wears off. It lasts way too long. Your almost guaranteed at least 3-4 kills with it per activation because of the duration. People like True Vanguard like to say its counterable but not everyone has True Vanguards sniper aim in the heat of the moment when you see a flaming raid boss running right at you. Theres not a time that ive popped it that i was scared of dieing by using it wrong. Definitely shouldnt be able to run into a team of 4 and win that engagement a majority of the time. For Stormcallers i think the biggest part for why their super is so strong is Ionic blink. Without that i dont see it as as crazy as Sunbreaker but with it + Transcendence it is suuuper strong but Stormcallers can die so theres a fine line here. Overall all these problems are going to be a exacerbated once IB and Trials roll around especially Sunbreaker. People are going to lose alot of games come Trials when a team of Sunbreakers wipe whole teams repeatedly in back to back rounds. But i guess it is what it is.

Was gonna agree with you (on everything apart from stormcaller) but my kd is 1.3 so.... It's a shame I play crucible solo because I don't like to pubstomp
-
12 AntwortenYou have some solid points but then you mentioned KDA... Like if you think that's a good tell of skill then... Anything you say just gets trashed.

Bearbeitet von DeathPony07: 10/12/2015 6:06:49 AMThe biggest problem with balance in PvP isn't weapons. It's damage resistance and overshields. Every class should be easily killable while activating and during their super. How many times have you shot someone point blank with a shotgun, only to have them survive because of an overshield or damage resistance from activating thier super? The same goes for health regeneration. It's ridiculous and has no place in PvP.

Do you only play control?
-
Bearbeitet von Dezzie19: 10/12/2015 6:00:50 AMMatchmaking and lag are real problems that wont be solved anytime soon. I dip into the crucible but after a couple of games the frustration at all the issues puts me off playing it.

Bearbeitet von PS_TRUDODYR: 10/12/2015 5:35:46 AMYou clearly never played crucible from launch. This is nothing compared to what used to exist. Pre patch Mythoclast. Pocket Infinity. Suros regime 45 criticals. Fusion rifles sniping across the map. Then we came into the era of final round, thorn and Felwinters. Calling crucible broken now is... kind of funny. They've made a number of missteps but overall it's way more competitive than it was. I do agree about teams, but that comes down to them finally putting in a ranked playlist along with social, like they did with Halo.
-
Even though the pre 2.0 PvP was over run by people with hand cannons its still 10 times better then what it is currently.
-
18 AntwortenSalty! Go play another game then. No one cares! And your comment about kd proves you're worthless. Just buy halo 5 so none of us have to read your lame ass posts
-
8 AntwortenThere is no damage resistance on storm caller blade dancer is more op than storm caller. Idk how many times I use storm caller even with transcendence and get killed by a shotgun.
-
This weapon looses 95% of all stats when not on the final round of the magazine.
this gun has 999 ammo compactly in the mag
-
Tune the sunbreakers damage reduction to where medium-high impact snipers such as 1kYS and Golden Gun can one shot it, and add a little bit of a speed debuff. Storncaller, maybe reduce the lightning chain damage and add a little bit of sped debuff as well (haven't tried it yet so I'll see soon enough.)
-
Add me Jank Shot 115, I like the way you think and I think I'd enjoy playing halo with you. I can't stand to see how poisonous this game is to my brain. They balanced it so well with the guns that the abilities that are still op are even more op making the balancing more game breaking than it was before
-
6 AntwortenHalo 5 can't come soon enough. Time for me to leave this shitshow.

Bearbeitet von H00KEM-031162: 10/12/2015 5:13:41 AMDude, you can't "inb4" all that shit in the OP... That's just real thirsty. I do agree with your post, just drop the self conscious inb4 crap.
-
Can't say I disagree. Sunbreaker can one-shot (1/7) a golden gunner but a golden gunner has to use two shots (2/3-4) to take down a sunbreaker. The supers that used to be considered OP (gunslinger & bladedancer) could get one-shotted by a shotgun or a high-impact sniper to the head. Sunbreakers? Nope. Two head shots. I would say stormcaller isn't quite as OP, but I main a hunter and, so far, all three times I've popped that super in 6v6 crucible I have gotten at least 5 kills..... I think the supers are cool, but they certainly are not balanced in PVP.
-
As much as I dislike the whine and rant...100% agree. What I find most funny is while those year two supers are vastly more damaging, the nightstalkers only PvP perk, quiver, doesn't work on the other two supers when directly hit, if they jump away immediately. This makes it much less useful then res warlocks in PvP.
-
-
The new maps are terrible and do everything to promote the shotgun scrub culture, then there's the lag which is worse than ever for me
-
-
1 AntwortenShadowshot nulls all abilities. Even supers. Just use quiver or bloodborne
-
2 AntwortenBearbeitet von RogueAgent: 10/12/2015 4:18:13 AMThis guy lost me when he tried to say stormcaller is too strong. You basically have the same amount of health as a normal player Blade dancer is still harder to kill than stormtrance. If you nerf it in anyway then warlocks will then become the weakest super class pvp wise. OP is a confirmed retard

Anybody else getting a shit ton of quitters? Like if you're down by 1k, three people just say F it. 12000 to 13000, amd half my team just leaves.
