Bungie, you're currently failing with regards to this game's PvP aspect, especially with the release of TTK. It's gotten to the point that I can't wait until Halo 5 is released and this game gets relegated to "only on Tuesdays" status. The word "competitive" should never be used to describe the Crucible in its current state; the idea is laughable.
1. Your match-making system is atrocious. One game my team will win by a landslide, the next game we'll be getting curb-stomped to the point where I wonder why I even bother. Close games are a rarity it seems. Three times in a row you'll spawn me into a game that's already hopeless, and as soon as my character appears I'm taking a rocket launcher or a super into the face. Your mercy rule system sucks and doesn't turn on nearly as often as it should.
That's not even my main problem though. The fact is, I'm tired of how your system literally puts no effort into pairing premades against other premades. I check the roster before every game, and 9 times out of 10 there will be at least one 3+ man premade in the lobby. 9 times out of 10 I'll also be on the team full of randoms having to face off against that premade. But what really rustles my jim jams is this: if there are multiple small premades in the same lobby, the system will almost always put the premades on the same team and put all of the randoms on the other team. I honestly can't even. This game's PvP is an exercise in frustration when I'm consistently having to play with a team of randoms against a team of 3+ coordinating people. Why you guys make no effort to have premades play against other premades, I'll never know.
inb4 "just play in your own premade". I have no desire to have to group up with friends every time I want to casually play Crucible. I'm not going to play like a try-hard if it's not IB or ToO. I don't even care about playing against premades from time to time; it's the fact that I'm almost always playing against a premade. That probably goes for most people, but most people don't check the roster beforehand.
Honestly, if the system went about prioritizing premades against other premades, I might actually be [b]encouraged[/b] to make my own premade outside of IB or ToO.
2. The week before TTK released and 2.0 dropped was the best, most balanced week the Crucible has ever seen. Weapon balance has been as good as it has ever been outside of Pulse Rifles being slightly over-tuned, as well as some random guns like Tlaloc. But I digress. My main gripe is the fact that Stormcaller and Sunbreaker are completely unbalanced in 6v6 PvP and they've taken what little skill was left out of this game. See, before these supers were introduced, every Y1 "mobile" super had a down side: Golden Gun had no damage resistance and Bladedancer required melee range.
With the introduction of Stormcaller/Sunbreaker, this balance has been completely ruined; there's no weakness to either of these supers, especially Sunbreaker - [b]both supers are mobile, both supers are ranged and both supers have damage resistance.[/b] Hammer of Sol tracks its targets (very similar to Proximity on rocket launchers), heals on kills, has up to 7 shots and lasts [b]way[/b] longer than every other super. The drain rates for HoS and Stormtrance are laughable compared to the other mobile supers. GG gets less than half the shots, no damage shield, no heal on kill but.. double the drain rate? lolwut? Logic, not even once. In a 6v6 environment these supers are simply broken, especially with randoms. Nightstalkers only make a trivial difference without coordination, and even then it won't be enough.
These new supers need to be tuned, period. There's a reason that Golden Gun didn't have damage resistance - because everyone and their mother knew that it would be retardedly broken. Yet, that's exactly what you've given Sunbreakers and (for the most part) Stormcallers. I'm not asking for them to be neutered, but something needs to be done. Either increase the drain rate, lower the damage resistance, get rid of cauterize or something.
inb4 "but the class revolves around its super". This game's entire current PvP system revolves around Supers. Do you have any idea how a team who coordinates their supers, especially around heavy spawns, can pretty much put a game out of reach in the matter of a minute? When you can average 10+ kills a game with your super alone, which is doable by any competent Sunbreaker or Stormcaller, there's a problem. Stormcallers can't even use that excuse; they have great grenades and probably the most absurd melee in the game. The fact that they're flying under the radar while Sunbreaker takes most of the blame is hilarious.
Supers make or break games. Everyone without their super is relegated to the same basic gunplay (for the most part). Bad grenades/melees aren't a good enough excuse for having the ability to wreak havoc 3+ times a game. Sunbreakers can still be powerful, but they need a weakness just like every other super, whether its a decrease in DR or a much faster drain rate. If GG/Nightstalker users only have 10 seconds to get their shots off once they activate their super, there's no way that Titans should have nearly triple the amount of time. Stormcaller needs a reduction in its chaining ability, its drain rate or something. That super is just as ridiculous when used correctly and people are currently oblivious to it.

1 AntwortenYup, stormtrance is OP once you spec it correctly, same as the hammer. The thing is, there's more hate towards the hammer right now so the warlocks go unnoticed. Once the hammer gets nerfed, storm trance will be next. It's ridiculously fast, the range is crazy, damage resistance is mad and they can blink. Get full health on activation, mini Titan smash that can blind people and the super itself can last at least 15 seconds while you're using it to get kills. It's crazy good and needs to be fixed.

Make some bigger -blam!-ing maps. If maps were about 2/3 of First Light on average, there would less need to use a shotgun and weapon variety could become a thing instead of Pulse Rifles and shotguns dominating the meta.

Supers are broken and unbalanced, weapons are a joke at how bad and unbalanced they are, maps are god aweful and all play into shotgun lanes. Servers are -blam!-ing atrocious and keep getting worse somehow. Matchmaking and team balancing is pathetic. Spawns are a joke. Actually everything about pvp is getting worse and terrible in this game. Goodness I am getting depressed just thinking about how terrible bungie did with this

1 . Is in invalid . I played so many shooters . All matchmaking games can go one sided one match in your favor and one sided against you . Seen it happen in halo , call of duty , and destiny . Unless you go in to ranked in halo . Which doesn't count cause your taking about basic for fun matchmaking . Just sounds like bitching . It all depends on player skill and at least they are breaking it up now or stoping the slaughter which I disagree with but that shit never happened in halo . I could go 70-4 and fight the same team over and over . 2. Supers don't make up this entire game unless you are playing mayhem . You act like they are activated 24/7 . I used to be 1.5ish k'd. More on IB. Since ttk came out I am scared to look. I for one agree... The tactics are pretty much this run, kill, die do your usual stuff.. but wait what's that noise sounds like some someone hit a radiator with a big spoon or opened a box of crisps (chips).. time to run away... With the storm caller at least you have a chance. I have full on nova bombed, head shotted with my 1000 yard. Stuck with a grenade, point blank invective. And nothing so it only leaves one thing to do...... run away. And hope isn't to close that he can snipe you with a tracking hammer. They are and there is no denying it massively over powered

I agree man, really wish they had a ranking system or something to matchmaker similar skilled players against each other. Also agree with the "premade" thing. Seems like whenever I'm running solo in crucible my teammates are always awful randoms and the opposite team is a premade.

Playing as a Sunbreaker makes a below 1 kd player look like a pvp god. The Sunbreaker super has all the good things about a super and non of the downside. People say that the super is the only thing that a Sunbreaker has going for it. Hello, titan skating, the fastest class in the game, also highest defense already. After yesterday I realized the Sunbreaker super is infact broken as shit.

I tried to read it all, I really did, but you dragged this out far to long. I agree that match making against teams can get annoying & also joining games late. I agree that sunbreakers are annoying. But ultimately, I don't care enough to rant about them because in my multiplayer career coming up against pub stomping teams is all apart of it, really just an opportunity to improve your own game. The only thing I care enough about to rant is sunbreakers, f them to hell. Anyways, good luck with PVP.

I'm not great at Crucible, but enjoyed it a lot after HoW. I avoid PvE now except for the occasional legendary marks grab. All new maps, needing to switch back to yr 1 weapons bc yr 2 don't match up (*cough* Mida *cough*), and, to be fair, more interesting patrols and quests, along with the separation of old maps from taken king play types means that I no longer look to take part in what used to be what I played the most. ...I know that change is necessary, but I still firmly believe that Bungie lacks a PR department that understands how to roll out changes. No attempt in the story to explain why all yr 1 weapons couldn't move forward (they shouldn't have btw), just an instant shift. No attempt to explain economy shifts (which would actually be doable since economies do change), just an instant shift (etheric light much?). No attempt to explain new Crucible maps and the irrelevance of old maps, just instant shifts. Don't wanna whine here, but these types of unexplained "because we said so" shifts are very counterproductive to the gameplay buy-in that Bungie wants. Love the game, but there's a deep disconnect that I never felt with other games I love to play. That said, I apologize in advance for running around Iron Bannering at 294 this week, using yr 2 weapons along the way (hello Red Death). Haven't done the raid yet, so it's gonna be ugly until I level up enough to buy some stuff. Cheers
