So the times im wondering about this are namely warpriest and golgaroth. Now a headshot with sleeper does about 2-2.5x (possibly more at higher light, but this would be for 290) what a black spindle shot would do here. My theory is would you doing the 3 shots from ss then using a legendary sniper for the rest of the shots beat out black spindle in the long run? Or maybe some other combo of a secondary and a different time to reload? Or would the speed of black spindle just beat it out?
If you fire the three ss shots then immediately go to a legendary sniper which is very easy to get reload speed increases for, plus their base reload speed is much higher than that of spindle. So factor in the reload speed being about nothing on the legendary sniper plus its pumping out shots faster because both the raid sniper and 1000 yard stare have higher fire rates by far than the spindle; theyre doing their damage faster which is the same per hit if not a little more than the spindle.
Example and question further simplified:
On warpriest would you go with three large sleeper simulant hits then switch to your legendary sniper, instead of reloading the ss, and keep damaging him with that; or would you just pump black spindle shots the entire time? Which do you think would come out higher at the end of a damage phase?
It just seems like the massive damage and speed of sleeper paired with another gun have huge potential so im seeing what other people think about which would be superior here

People just need to accept that Spindle is the best DPS weapon for raids.

1 AntwortenBlack Spindle, DPS. Sleeper Simulant, burst. Use them in proper context, not just in one. Using a burst weapon in place of a DPS one in a DPS strong window is not efficient. See https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/161352895/0/0/1 where I explain the two.

What I do is use spindle for golgoroth and war priest, malice for daughters and oryx. I use sleeper for strike bosses and majors just for fun. Spindle really kinda makes it obsolete.

8 AntwortenWarpriest With weapons 24k per shot sleeper 14k p/s spindle Both with mag of 3 however no reload speed on spindle and the sleepers isnt great plus with spindle the rate of fire is quite high, 5-6 shots to the sleepers 3 So Sleeper 24×3=72k damage (rounded to make it easier) Spindle 14×5=70k or 14×6=94k Not to mention it's easier to find special ammo off adds then heavy and not enough cooldown time to use synthesis every run therefore I personally use spindle over sleeper

9 AntwortenEven if sleeper does more damage per shot, black spindle still has a higher dps because u don't have to reload, also finding special is easier than finding special in my opinion

2 AntwortenThe black spindle is a good choice but I would think having the SS and a high powered sniper would be a good idea just because you can fire more shots down range
