So I really like the idea of including secret missions into destiny in order to unlock cool gear however I'm not a fan of the special daily missions, mainly because I simply cannot play every day. My job requires me to go offshore onto oil rigs fairly frequently to perform inspections, this means I have periods where I have no access to my xbox. Previously, apart from the usual weekly loot, the only thing I missed out on whilst offshore was xur, I taught my girlfriend how to buy stuff from xur specifically to mitigate this problem in-case he sold something I needed.
However these secret daily missions are really frustrating for me as I am loosing out on cool content in the game with no real way of ever getting it again. You say in your weekly update that the first firewall mission will come back in time but exactly when?
Destiny is literally the only game I have played for the last year, I have invested so much time into this game (4000+ grimoire) and I hate feeling like having a job handicaps me in the game.
I'm sure I'm not the only one with this concern.
My suggestion would be to allow these secret daily missions to be repayable through the regular menu's. Limit the exclusive loot to once per character, this would mean only people playing catch up would benefit from this.
Anyone who agrees please bump so that bungie may see this.
Thank you.
[EDIT] A suggestion from one of the guys below was to introduce these special missions as quests - to me this seems like a very simple and effective solution. The quests can be timelocked by bungie as the missions currently are, however this would allow people to complete them in there own time.
[EDIT] Taking from others ideas I reckon introducing it as a quest line 1 week or so later would keep everyone happy. All the "if you can't make it onto destiny every day then you don't deserve it" people would have the prestige in owning it first and the "casuals" would know for certain they will be able to complete the missions to in the future.

Bro, I feel for you, however, there is no way Bungie is going to work their schedule around yours. Either you get lucky and have the ability to play that day or you just have to move on. Maybe Destiny isn't the game for someone with your occupation because it is very time consuming and the grind is real.

4 AntwortenGive Bungie your shift pattern, I'm sure they'll schedule secret missions are you. I worked 12hr nights, went straight home, stayed awake and got my black spindle 20mins before reset. I worked 12hr days, got home and completed all the sleeper simulant tasks before bed.

Other: add an MlG LizRd Sqad Hak Sytm

1 AntwortenIt's a game! Let's be honest, are you really going to use a heavy fusion rifle anyway? Enjoy the game when you can, it is not about the stuff. It is about your escape from reality when you do get the opportunity to play. Any outlook other than this can be described as an addiction, and like most other addictions is unhealthy and you should seek professional help.

5 AntwortenI agree, but to an extent. I like how it is because now i feel like the guns are more rare... In addition to the fact you can't just get them off drops anymore, you have to do a hard task on this day (only this day) to get it... But i totally see where you're coming from.

You know, those Daily missions can pop up almost every week and any day of the week (including weekends). That's the shitty thing about being an adult and working, it gets in the way of fun stuff. Every damn day. I almost always work nights. Should I expect other businesses to stay open later because my schedule is late? It would be nice if Wal-Mart and Taco Bell weren't the only businesses open at 4 AM...

2 AntwortenAgree. On a happy note its movie day at my job today. Well....every Friday is movie day. Avengers 2 yaaaaaaay

Bearbeitet von bobswerski: 10/9/2015 6:13:13 PMI work 80 hours a week pretty frequently, and have a wife, and 2 small kids. Still get most of the stuff. The daily rotates back again, chill out. It's not like Xur selling the Gally once a year.
-
I used to work on a drill rig but the 20 straight days on was getting old. Try that for 9 months...
-
Lot of dickheads on this thread... I feel your pain.

Bearbeitet von Kessaran: 10/9/2015 6:09:21 PMI agree with you that work makes it difficult to enjoy every aspect of the game. But I don't agree that's a reason for change. Any successful game has the hardcore grinders who get all the special stuff, and the casuals who might get it eventually. Just gotta time yourself and check the destiny app to see what the daily is. If possible teach your wife/girlfriend how to play and ask her to check for you. That's what I did. Also, ignore most of the hateful comments. Just a bunch of Xbox warriors who have no jobs and probably dropped out of school and live in their parents basement.

7 AntwortenLook guys it's a special snowflake who thinks he is so special a company should change just for him... oh wait no its just a retard Nevermind.
-
So many attacks on a man making a suggestion We don't all have the lack of social/love life to get on everyday and even work can be a bitch.
-
23 AntwortenI barely read the post, but I think I can understand what it's about. You're a working man, having money and not as much free time and a whole company should change after you. I too work, like many others, have a girlfriend I don't meet very often. I "can't" play destiny for a whole week and it burns in my skin, obsession. But I try to get over it and not try to be naive like a 5 year old and want the company to change after my needs. If you can't handle the destiny game, move on.
-
I feel ya man. Went away for few days for work meeting out of country only to find out the damn spindle was in the daily . Highly frustrating
-
it should be that either: - Allow heroic mode to drop exotics - Add a new mode on top of heroic and normal
-
I like it the way it is. Keeps a rare factor to these exotic guns. If everyone has it, it's not really cool or unique. Only other way would be back at rgn and that just sucks.
-
No... the point is this weapons can't just be obtained at any time. If you miss out too bad so sad real life comes first. If destiny is more important quit your job. Otherwise stop bitching and just wait for it to be a daily you can play
-
Yea agreed. I don't play everyday and it sucks because that means I have to check the forums daily to see if there are any secret missions that day.
I hate the forums, where's the In game recruiting
-
52 AntwortenYou miss out that's you problem. You chose your profession. Why should bungie be forced to pay someone just so you can do something ingame? Are you going to pay for the work they do? Ofcourse you wont... Stop being so entitled.
-
I work shift work and play when I can. I missed both Black Spindle days but I did manage the Sleeper Simulant. I'll get around to the Spindle eventually, not too worried about it.
-
Aye working the oil rig is good ass money tho
-
2 AntwortenSo, bumgie specifically state that they're taking away the NF XP buff so people don't feel like they have to log on first thing of the week to knock it out.....yet now the dailies are actually somewhat rewarding (@30 marks, not that many of you need marks anymore) and so everyone (did) feels the need to log on everyday, and now throw in the mix these secret random single-day quests, and you see where I'm going....logging in once week isn't enough folks, you gotta do it everyday!! My body is ready ....for November 10th, to play a game I can just pause and walk away and not be AFK, a game that I can just save when I'm done and pick right up where I've left off, the first game that is going to allow PC mods on consoles (truly next-gen) a game that's not T-for teen, a game with tough grey area decisions that actually affect the game world.
-
14 AntwortenAh Destiny. A game for Squeakers and jobless bums.
-
1 AntwortenThen dont play a effen game that requires grinding! Especially grown ass man whining on forums. Either suck it up and play as much as you can or dont.

Bearbeitet von chickengoujohn93: 10/9/2015 5:20:10 PMRegardless, there is a thing called next time. No need to rush. Its a problem amongst the community. We all have this weird mindset to get everything done as quickly as possible. If anything, special events should happen on weekends, where most people have the most time off in a given week.
