OK so like many of you out there I was sort of let down by the whole SS quest. No way could the Mission for the Black Spindle have more story line and be tougher than the Sleeper! No way could the Cult Shell Mission be tougher than the Sleeper Quest. No story, avg. Grimoire, quick and easy quest line. Let the disappointment begin. To top everything off many people feel the weapon is AVERAGE at best. This last point has lead many people to believe that the gun is incomplete and that there is more quest yet to be had. MIDNIGHT EXIGENT: Status=still in progress. This phrase has many of us believing that there is still quest to be had. Upon receiving the gun I believed the same thing, but after playing with the gun for a few matches I think THIS IS IT. People have asked but what about all the things Bungie promised us about this Quest? Well let's take a look at that.
According to the Game informer article players would first have to "collect relics of the Golden Age which have been scattered across the various locations of Destiny...the ancient artifacts trigger a memory in the ancient Exo gunsmith, and he will invite players on an odyssey to repair and reactivate one of the Taken King's most striking exotics. " Well I know the Dvalin fusion rifles were not Golden Age Relics, and are Dark Age Relics. Could the media have been misinformed? or Could they have put the wrong information in the article? Either way this started us down the "Odyssey".
Now we start our Quest and we get the 'curious transceiver' with which we need to input a code. Remember when Bungie told us that we may have to do puzzles that may be even too hard for one person to complete alone?? Well that puzzle was the code for the curious transceiver. People felt like it was too easy, well that is because 99% of players (including myself) looked up the code online. So technically Bungie kept their word. It took more than one person to figure out that the code was related to the knights and taken knights. Now we are awarded with the with the Ikelos Fusion Core. We have to complete the tasks to get this core going. The Archive Mission, Defending those damn Warsats and breaking down a legendary or exotic heavy. A 5 step process to complete the core. Once completed this is where things get a little interesting and the wait begins.
Most of us expected a wait of 1-3 weeks, but BAM we are given the next part of the Quest THE NEXT DAY. We have to complete the S.A.B.E.R Strike, a place many of us theorized would have to do with this weapon (congrats to us we were correct. kinda?). We complete the strike and we are given the coveted Sleeper Simulant. And a mixed bag of emotions begin. Some of us are satisfied, some of us want more. But when you look at it, pretty much everything Bungie promised us was IN THIS QUEST. Speaking for my self I was let down, because of how High we built this weapon to be. With all the new stuff in TTK and how new, exciting and powerful the story had become there was no way in Hell that this would'nt be THE story and gun of year 2.
Not everyone is gonna be happy, some people say quest are too hard. This was not as hard so it is a problem. Some people say they take too long, and for some this was fast (overall it took me about an 1 1/2 hours for the entire quest...I was lucky the warsats popped consecutively). Some people love story some do not. But hey, who knows maybe there is more. For me I am gonna see where this gun fits in the Destiny World. There is a tool for every job. I mean even the NLB found a niche for some. Sorry to be scrambled just wanted to share my thoughts with the community . What do you guys think? will there be more? is this it? were you satisfied or do you want and expect more?

1 AntwortenThe fact that the one part of the gun says status incomplete. Leads me to believe, there is more to it. I just can't fathom that being it.

1 AntwortenYeah. I don't have it yet because I haven't been on but I check the forums today to see that everybody has it and it's ok. But... But... a two day quest? That's it? Maybe the community hyped it too much. But I was genuinely excited by the possibility of a real scavenger hunt exotic. The teamwork from the community was amazing. Teams of people scouring over every mission in the game. What if we use *blank* with *blank* on *blank?* I thought it was so cool that destiny had a real secret. Something along the lines of BF4's phantom program where by trial, error, and very subtle hints by the developers we would discover the secrets. But no. A two day quest about waiting for warsats. That was time locked until yesterday. Oh well... Maybe No Time To Explain will have more secrets to its quest.

For me personally for the work that went into it (not alot) it's probably what the weapon should be for what effort it took average at best but could be fun to use in some situations. Maybe they decided that more people will be more interested in no time to explain as not alot has been said about that and that will be more in depth.
