Title says it all. I'm posting this because everyone is under the impression that Bungie will GIVE YOU FREE DLC. When has Activision ever given out anything free? Input ladies and gentlemen. To all future haters unless you are a real gamer. Dont give your input. Mostly likely you're the problem.
Edit: So I didn't expect to be trending, awesome feedback! I must say most games mentioned were EA games. Doing updates and maintenance on video games is part of the 60 we initially pay for. I didn't play GTA 5 and it's safe to say the game is nowhere to be found. Destiny is unlike any game we have played before. Which is why we are still here a year later . When I played mass effect I don't recall Micro transactions , which resulted in free dlc. I hope everyone is correct and this doesn't turn into a pay to win.
Some said WoW, war frame, never winter. Now as far as WoW it's a monthly subscription so income is steady. Marco transaction there equals extra cash to use as they please. Warframe is free game, so they need to make money and micro transactions is there bread and butter . War frame is to its core a pay to win type of game. War frame is alot like destiny! Neverwinter didn't seem like a pay to win type of game, but micro transactions do give you an advantage. ESO is a prime example. You can't get a horse unless you have 40000 gold if I remember correctly. Or you can buy it off the bat and can get to places much quicker. They also had several other micro transactions.
IMO micro transactions are OK if strictly cosmetic. Other wise it's a downward spiral like so many other games.

Perfect World has micro transactions but the game itself was free, as are all the updates. Most of the stuff for sale is cosmetic although there are some buffs for cash. The differences would be Perfect World started with stuff for cash while Destiny did not. And there is a cool in-game auction house where you can bid or buy just about anything for game money. You can also sell items, even mats in personal player shops. Those two things let players buy buffs, paint and gear without spending real world money. I bought a horse and dog in Elder Scrolls. If it helps the game great, If not I still enjoy running them. If I could buy customizable stuff for Destiny I would probably do so. I am not excited for emotes but ship add ons would be nice.

4 AntwortenSWTOR. After releasing their cash shop, which like this one was purely cosmetic, they released entirely new game modes (PvP space combat which had been asked for, gambling events, etc.), robust player housing, and several raids not attached to pay for expansions. And that's a game owned by EA. A company that can go toe to toe with Activision for being greedy, shady, cash grabbing cockholes.

2 Antworten
This has been patented by Shade the Hunter, friend to Dredgen Yor
Wow the moment they mention "Micro transactions" everyone loses their god damn minds. OH NOES THE GAME IS GONNA BE BAD! PAY TO EH WIN? I mean I'm a year one. There will never be pay to win for me. But if you're a nooby noob scrub scrub and you start playin' year two half way in, maybe year 3 even or when D2 is a thing. Micros may not be bad. Also you may say "It starts with emotes, shaders, ships, and then the guns, armor, missions!" Wah wah wah is all I hear from casual complainers who jive with the crowd. I'd be okay with ships.. shaders.. emblems for 50cents us currency? Ghost, and emotes. Whatevs. I won't need to buy guns. I mean for hells sake bungie knows what THEY want to do. They know what will detest the players from wanting to play, or keep playing. The sad part is just all you people who immediately jump on the "MICRO TRANSATIONS RUIN THE GAME! " Wah wah band wagon... It's actually quite amusing. I mean it's not like this game IS an MMO or something. Not like there are MASSIVE MULTIPLAYER ENVIRONMENTS for us players. World of Warcraft has micros transactions. And is still probably the strongest running MMO-RPG out there. I say burn the band wagon, and quit your cryin. . . Spread the word those who have a brain that functions! Now nowhere in the article Bungie posted that it will fund future dlc, however perhaps it is lightly implied? Maybe not. Also did the article eer say we had to purchase these micro transactions ? no. All the people scared that the game is going "pay to win", when it isn't, are just... I got nothing nice to say. I mean clearly I said it up there in the bulk of the text, but I do not want to continue.

Bearbeitet von o0DELTA FORCE0o: 10/7/2015 12:49:31 AMThey never promised free DLC. People who can't read and people from gaming outlets who make assumptions started this problem. It's pretty clear it will generate revenue and it will add quests. We will still be charged for DLC.

3 AntwortenTo everyone saying warframe: You clearly don't understand how that game's business model works (and I would know, I have over 600 hours on the game). That game is free, and all money comes from microtransactions. This is not the case with destiny. Warframe also doesn't receive DLC. It receives updates. The game is woefully incomplete, and these updates complete the game. It would be like me coming out with destiny when it only had patrol on earth, and then saying "Look, It's DLC!!! For free!!!" When I add in the moon a year later and charge you for each shader/ sparrow you buy.
