I'm a little older than your average gamer, mid 40's approx. Recently someone told me that I should give it up and do something a little more age appropriate. It was after a game of crucible and this little person seems to think that I'm a little bit over the hill to be playing Destiny. I give this person zero credibility cuz more than likely it was past their bedtime. What are your thoughts?
P.s. Despite everything, I really enjoy the game
It is very awesome to see the replys, thank you. Time to go and school the next generation.

Its not too old, but too young; or rather, you are to old to do something if you cannot appreciate and pursue the enjoyment of what you are doing. You need to realize that people who do not know you personally don’t care about you. This isn’t because people are mean or hurtful, but simply because a majority of people are mostly focused on themselves. While people might feel empathy, or anger about something, how long does that last? Generally it is not long before they are over it! While some things may last longer than others, you will find that eventually they let things go, and probably will forget all about it. Don't let their opinion bother you, just as they don't care about what they say to you.

I'm 32 and I enjoy many aspects of the game. I don't mind playing with players younger or older than me, those that are intolerant and disrespectful don't have a place in this community. Go do some volunteering or something if you're too egotistical and can't tolerate age and/or cultural differences.

Never too old but gaming when you have responsibilities to take care off is a problem. Gaming is a problem when it becomes an addiction.

ignore whoever said that.

They'll bury me with my controller

3 AntwortenDying in your mid 40's is age inappropriate, not gaming. I'll be slaying enemy into my 90's, if my fingers still work. Of course, by then we'll probably be gaming in a full 3D environment, controlled solely by our minds. I hope my last experience before the great beyond takes me is to be surrounded by friends and family...as they watch me destroy one final boss.

Age doesn't matter. The whole point of gaming is that your character does the work - and what you might lack in skill or speed you make up for in sneakyness! Added to that i've learnt a crap load from some awesome, extremely helpful people from around the world easily half my age who probably have no idea they are gaming with an oldie (that includes you celestial mangoes). Age appropriate assumes you grow up. It just means you have more money to buy stuff and YOU decide when you've finished the game (just dont tell my wife I said that.....really, I'd rather solo nightfall omnigul).

Bearbeitet von SNEsenpai: 10/1/2015 1:48:05 AMIt all started with Atari for me, guess its part of gen X. Still young enough to go flawless on ToO almost every week. Beat raids on first week. Although I dont think i can still quick scope in CoD anymore. Although we have 2 clan members who are in their 60's.

What a dick! I play with a bunch of older players & we problem solve so well it shocks me! I say age comes wisdom!
-
Never too old. I'll be going as long as my hands and eyes hold out :)
-
I'm 26 and I think you're never too old, I hope to play till the day I die. Never stop playing! I'd have you in a fire team any day!
-
From a fellow cohort, keep playing until you no longer can!
-
You're never too old. Funny to think that the kids telling you that now will most likely play video games when they hit your age and beyond.

I started on acorn electron, moved on to the spectrum all cassette based load ups took for ever and often crashed. I progressed onto Atari 2600 then progressed onto Sega master system then so forth and today I'm a PS3 gamer soon to move onto PS4. Gaming is no different to movies just more involved.
-
Originally started off with Atari 2600, for me that was 1976 while station in Bermuda, I am now 64 and still going strong.... I am going to have my control buried with me lol......

Never too old! I am late 30's and been gaming since Atari days.

There is an 80 year old lady in the U.K that games. Contrary to to what social conformity dictates, you're never too old to game. Personally, I'll play until the day I drop dead.

There is an 80 year old who still plays battlefield. No one is too old to enjoy a game
