I personally call it soccer because I live in America
Not England, not France, not Germany... America
And I am proud to call stuff by our names, not what other countries call it.
If you
1. Live in America
2. Call it futbol
Then you are a disgrace to this country and you deserve to be exiled.

35 AntwortenI don't know why Americans call it football over there anyway. You literally run around carrying the ball 98% of the time with your hands.....they also can't spell colour
-
2 AntwortenI call it real football.

I call it soccer. Working in a multinational office I hear both thrown around, but for some reason it makes me cringe to hear other Americans call it "football" (just a pet peeve of mine). I don't know why but it only seems to be the Americans and Canadians in our office that switch around. Our British employees exclusively use "football" while all the Australians, Kiwis, Iris and South Africans I work with call it "soccer" every time (and make a point to explain that "football" is what we call rugby). Just my personal experience.

I call it soccer because I'm in America and all my fellow brain dead students get confused when I call it football, I can only call it football in Spanish class otherwise people get confused.

Exile/deport away, that way I dont have to pay for a plane ticket ;) Always wanted to spend a few years in the U.K.

Bearbeitet von pValue2010: 9/30/2015 2:51:15 PMI interchange them based on the first word that comes to mind - or if it's a non soccer fan I'll always say "soccer" to avoid confusion. I never understood why people even care what us yanks call it. People must hate synonyms in general.

Our football is better

1 AntwortenI should be exiled for acknowledging the world sport for what it really is?? Americans are so arrogant and ignorant deadly combo. It's only futbol in Spanish btw in English it's football

1 AntwortenYay, a penis poll! But I would much rather call it football. It makes soo much more sense. I mean, in American football they hardly ever kick it! Much better when it was "rugby"

Bearbeitet von moist nana: 9/28/2015 12:07:22 AMCalling Grid Iron Football is just some of that good ol' English Heritage rubbing off on you, they pretty much called any local game football, so long as it involves kicking a ball, (Rugby, Soccer, Gaelic etc.) Even tho soccer has always been called football, the term association football is where you get the name Soccer from. Just the Yanks wanto be like the Brits by calling "there game" football, which IMO is VERY un-American

I live in Australia and most of us call it soccer. Whilst we have rugby league which we call football and aussie rules which we call football.... Can get confusing.

Where I live we call: European football = Fußball American football = football (not translated) No risk of confusion. When I speak English I call: European football = football American football = eggball
-blam!- eggball. Long live football.
