One for each enemy race :)
1. We have eliminated all of the Cabal command in our system, and messages have been sent to their Empire in deep space. Oh, and what was sent here was just the tip of the spear, a beach head that belies their true power.
2. Grimoire records allude to a god that Oryx served. While this could simply be rhe Darkness, there is a good chance that it is another entity entirely. If so, he will not be happy that his greatest worshiper has been killed, and will likely retaliate.
3. While the Fallen seem to be stalled and hopeless, Variks is undeniably working at strings behind the Reef's back. His words and definitely show a burning passion to bring the House of Judgement back to power and drag the Fallen out of their downcast existence and back to glory.
4. The Vex have been defeated repeatedly by the Tower's forces, leading to over-confidence among the guardians. But what is defeat to a race that can manipulate time itself? The constant and dreadful question will hang in the air forever: are we truly stopping them, or simply playing into their intricate design? All that we have done could very well be for naught.
I hope this post sparks some interest for everyone!
Edit: I'm so glad that so many people have actually responded to this. I was sure that my post was gonna get lost and die in a sea of nerf posts. Yet, lo and behold, we got this baby trending!
Thank u to everyone that has put in their opinion and their insight. Keep the ideas rolling.
Edit: You guys are blowing my mind with ideas. I'm learning alot from different people and hearing awesome theories. I think this is what bungie really envisioned from this game. :)
Edit: I'm going to add some things that people have brought to my attention that really are major points.
1. We have yet to truly understand the Nine. While they seem to help us, there is so little we know. We've never seen them, we don't know where they are, we don't know who they are, and they crave an item (Strange Coins) that seemingly has no use to us, and they will gladly give extremely rare equipment for them.
2. We have yet to face a true embodiment of the Darkness, or have an understanding of what it really is. We have killed it's minions left and right but what will we do when it comes after us to stop us itself? And on what plane could such a battle be fought?
3. Eris..... she is just one creepy bitch. She quite obviously has hidden motives and agendas that do not in any way seem good for the Tower. It will be interesting to see what all of this leads to when her plans become unveiled.
Btw, this is by far to best quote ever from the Book of Sorrows.
"This is your god. It is never ticklish."

4 AntwortenBearbeitet von HolyHalo: 9/25/2015 3:36:31 AMHouse Judgement was a Scribe house, the smallest house, they sent scribes to eachother's houses to record and connect the houses. Nothing more. Variks is also dishonored in Fallen terms with two of his arms removed, he is merely a Dreg. Also he betrayed the Fallen several times and refused to let House Of Wolves to recover and sent you to destroy them on Mars, halting their recovery. Why should the Fallen listen to him, wouldn't they take it as a trap?

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Aulakauss: 9/25/2015 3:45:47 AMThe Vex worry me. They act entirely against conventional logic, let alone conventional causality. We have no way of knowing their intent; they seem to have no culture, no texts and they don't talk to us in ways we know. They should be technologically superior in every possible way and, as a hivemind across all known time and space, ought to have the greatest tactics to boot. They instead appear to be some madman's automaton creations run amok, barely having any semblance of tactic beyond employing sniper units, instead relying on sheer numbers. Their Biocores are almost intentionally exposed. The Vex make absolutely no sense. They act more like animals than an intelligent species.

8 AntwortenEver notice when you die to the "architect"? My theories have led me to believe this is actually a group of high powered vex that have put us into a simulation. Yes I said it. We are in a simulation. The vex have been and always will be our existence long enemy.
-
1 AntwortenHas nobody realized that some of the vex in VoG were said to have come from the future, meaning that, somehow, they must have defeated humans if they existed that long?
-
2 Antworten5) black spindle is a pre-nerf black hammer. Bungie are nerfing weapons to make other weapons just like the pre-nerfed weapons.

1 AntwortenI like this. First time where players get together and for a good conversation. Nice speculations too!

This is the best place for this even if it really doesn't match but I want to give my prediction for the next DLC: I believe that it will be Cabal and it is going to have to do with them trying to create a Warmind, hence the assumed name "The Forge of Gods". Zavala mentions in a mission during the game that to get into a second golden age, we will require the help of a Warmind. This will cause us to search for the help of Rasputin to stop the Cabal from actually creating a Warmind and wiping us out/become more powerful. This will then lead into the next game being about our progress with Rasputin to reach another Golden Age.
-
Alright, to help your theories, in the regicide mission you can scan a rock pillar that tells of another hive god, possibly more powerful than oryx, his name is Nocrus(not sure if that is how it is spelled). As for Variks, i think if he does restore the house of judgement it will be good for the vanguard, tower and guardians. Variks, unless he somehow becomes corrupt by the darkness, is an ally to us, and the house of judgement seems to be about peace and justice(judgement seems like a pretty clear name). But we will have to wait and see what happens
-
Don't forget the statues located near Oryx's boss room in the story mission. There's a statue for Oryx, crota and another figure that's either Oryx's borther or that of Crota.
-
Variks is much like Wrex from Mass Effect. He knows why his species fell and also knows that resurgence won't come from conquest. Variks may be working behind the Awoken to bring the Fallen back but I bet we'll see them as an ally instead of an enemy if he succeeds.
-
The vex are by far my favorite enemies. On paper they are the absolutely most powerful, but we havent seen much of what they are capable of. They seem to be so ancient and a rusted shadow of what they once were, and i really hope they make a super badass return. What i would like to see? The vex time travel back to the golden age and try to destroy us before the collapse and wipe us out before we became guardians. So naturally we follow them back in time to stop em. We would get to see all this cool stuff we just see the post collapse version of.
-
Variks likes working with us...he is one of the fallen who are not lost. I expect that we will see some fallen allies (who won't betray us or the reef), hopefully sometime soon.
-
My favorite post. People are actually getting into the game and not complaining about things that should be nerfed, and they are immersing themselves. It's fun to read and I love it. Thank you.

1 AntwortenI think the most worrying thing is easily the Cabal. "They blow up planets and moons, just for getting in their way." With that in mind, it's worrying that our only defense against an extinction event such as this is a Warmind with an awful track record for security. Guardians entering Rasputin's bunker probably shouldn't go around dropping grenades in his systems, in hindsight.
-
I still find it scary that the vex fight using what is the equivalent of a power tool to them, imagine if they used a real weapon.
-
1 AntwortenOryx's sisters are a much more immediate threat than his god. And I don't think Variks is a threat. He wants to restore the Eliksni and steer them away from extinction. He learned from Skolas that force won't fix anything. Honestly, I see Variks and the new Kell of Kells forming an alliance with the City. Unless Variks decides the Kell of Kings is the best option. I wouldn't entirely discount an alliance in that case, but that situation could prove...thorny.

2 AntwortenI can't recall which grimoire in the book of sorrows, but didn't auryx kill both of his sisters in the sword logic realm?
-
4 AntwortenThe Books of Sorrow say that Oryx worshiped / made an alliance with the Leviathan, who controlled / got tribute from Oryx and his sisters through its offspring (the worms). The Leviathan is an Ahamkara.
-
6 AntwortenBearbeitet von GDUB-_-: 9/24/2015 7:23:21 PMThe fallen also have ties with the ahamkara the house of stone that is. Also something to worry about eris is talking to a queen somewhere many the worm queen.
-
1 Antworten2. I agree wholeheartedly, have you read the taken grimoire card? 3. Yesssssss
-
as to number 2 from the book of sorrow we learn that oryx was following the orders of the worms or Ahamkara, which aparently got their strength from some deep force that turned out to be the darkness.
-
3 AntwortenRegarding the Fallen, we also have to worry about the House of Kings, considered by many to be the most powerful of all the houses (perhaps next to House of Wolves?). While we have systematically decimated the leadership of all other Fallen houses, the House of Kings still has their Prime, their Archon, and their Kell. In fact, House of Kings is basically poised to be able to take over and rally the remaining Fallen under one banner because of all the Fallen leadership we have destroyed. - perhaps the Kings' Kell is the true Kell of Kells?
-
3 AntwortenInteresting read. I think the Vex will rise again, and if they control time, they can easily be the most threatening force. Hopefully a new DLC will expand on their story.
