I can't let you die, you can't die! I yelled through clenched teeth. We were so close yet so far.... And i couldn't protect you. Ghost dead, ship destroyed, no sparrow shield depleted. But you had to live...you had to. As I looked down at you, a shot hits me in the leg and I stumble, but quickly regain my footing with a limp. I can't lose you... I can't lose you.... I won't lose you. They shot me again. Opposite leg and and twice through my chest. I fell. Dropping you. I watched in horror as your body tumbled away from me. I crawled over to you to check and make sure you were okay. Just some bump and scrapes. You were okay... But I couldn't keep my promise. I knew this was it...the last time I would ever see you...feel you....hold you... Love you. I heard them approaching. I gently stroked your cheek as fresh tears fell from my eyes...I thought back to all we had been through...together...and with my Dying Light i kissed you on the cheek and whispered in your ear... I love you...and im sorry. Finally my time had come. They laugh and taunt in their native tongue. I looked up at them a burning fire in my eyes as their captain came with more Fallen. He said something to the other fallen and they all threw their hand up in what was a victory cheer. Afterwards the captain walked over to me and lifted me by my neck and then said something to me in fallen. Which to my surprise he then translated into English. "Any last words filthy undead warrior?" I said... "Death comes for us all eventually...some sooner than others...and how we act in that final moment is a sign and a testament to what we learned throughout our lives. We are leaders in our respective sides of this war we fight. Remember this from this day forward. Fight with honor and respect." "......Very well" he said. He then held me up in front of his soldiers and drove his sword hilt deep through my chest and threw me to the ground. The last thing i saw was her and with the last of my energy I reached out to hold your hand one last time and and say your name. ..S...y... S..yy....d... The only sounds audible on that brisk Autumn night were the sounds of the Fallen cheers... ...And the sound of two shock rounds meeting their targets.
