You're Cartman. You're breaking the rules, but since nobody can punish you for it, you're claiming it's all good.
After they patch your garbage, will it be cheating then?
Cozmo has flat out told us this excessive behavior is getting the loot items nerfed, so is it really so important to try and ruin the new content so soon after it comes out? Trials got cancelled because kids couldn't resist abusing the Shadowshot glitch.
"I didn't break the rules, Bungie didn't make the rules well enough!!" - Glitchingkid
People make choices. Choosing to abuse this glitch is getting the ToC item nerfed, normal players will not get to use the item in its current strength, because of people choosing to abuse this glitch, it's not being smart, being smart would be keeping it a secret, reporting it to Bungie and not destroying the loot system, did you notice how dry the loot system was after they did the "loot cave" nerfs? Who suffered? Not anyone who abused the cave, they had what they wanted, the people who suffered were the normal players who played normal content with reduced drops. Who will be affected most by the ToC nerf? Players who don't cheat, players who did not seek out cheese, and regular players who just play, who now all have a nerfed ToC item to play with, thanks to other people's actions. Who has been affected by Shadowshot abuse? Everyone who played Iron Banner or planned on playing Trials.
Edit: How to prevent this in the future: Have a team of 12 year olds dive into the games in a sealed server 30 days before each patch release, kids love cheating, they'll ferret out every nook and despicable cranny, use it on eachother till cheese runs from their ears, then the devs can use that data to publish a finished version...
Wait... damn child labor laws...
Edit 2:
So for all the kids making semantic arguments, "it's not cheating, it's a glitch/exploit, etc..." I'll use the Mike Judge classic, Office Space.
Ron Livingston: "So tonight we're gonna go use this trick to get free loot."
Jennifer Aniston: "So you're cheating? That's nice."
Ron Livingston: "No, it's not cheating, it's complicated, there's this flaw in the game, and we're going to exploit it to get extra stuff."
Jennifer Aniston: "So you're going to get a lot of stuff in the game." Yeah "Stuff that's normally hard to get." Yeah "And you don't have to actually play the game normally, just keep sitting in that spot?" Yeah. "So you're cheating."
Lovely lady, so smart.
Next time someone tells you they know of a loot glitch, tell them it's cheating and they shouldn't use it, and that they should report it to Bungie instead.
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/legal/codeofconduct
Don’t cheat or tamper. For example, don't:
Use unauthorized hardware or software
Exploit game vulnerabilities or glitches
Make unauthorized modifications to your account profile or its contents (e.g., tenure, Avatar, game saves, Gamerscore, achievements)
Intentionally play with someone who is using unauthorized software or methods
Or the PSN Equivalent.
Please note that it says, "Don't exploit game vulnerabilities or glitches" not "Only exploit game vulnerabilities and glitches that don't directly impact another player."
You do not own Destiny. You paid for the rights to access software called "Destiny", and agreed to use that software in compliance with the terms and conditions of Bungie and your chosen gaming service. That's not an exaggeration at all, this is a 100% fact.
Edit 3 That Kids Won't Read: I am mocking you, every reply, every copy paste, every stale your mom joke, is practically automatic at this point, this isn't a conversation or an argument, it's a statement of fact, you are cheating trash, period. Don't like it? Cry about it here and call me names.
Edit 4: 3500 replies later, wow, kids really do get mad when called out for behaving badly, reminds me of that commercial where the little girl goes into the freezer for a popsicle and Dad walks over, before he can say a word, she immediately just starts screaming at the top of her lungs, and he turns around and walks away saying "Okay! Okay!"
Sorry kids, but it's never ok to cheat, that's why it's called "cheating" :)

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von SINECURE53: 11/3/2015 1:54:52 AMHonestly man bungie just cant properly run their own game. Thats why they constantly ask us for opinions because they have ideas of their own. Example is the guns smith reforging. That was a bad idea and everyone knew it. Cool in theory but bad for game. They will be cleaning that mess up for crucible forever with the long range snipers shotguns. Bungie is not what it used to be.

6 AntwortenWhat I don't understand is, why do bungie care if people use exploits or glitches ? Why do they feel the need to nerf the way certain people choose to play the game ? If someone wants to use the ToC farming method who really cares. If these players get loads of exotics in the first week of dlc release, so what, they should be able to play it as they wish. If they run out of content then that's their problem. Personally I couldn't care less if people exploit aspects of the game but I do care when bunghole say they'll fix (what isn't really an issue to begin with) a "problem" and then go on to make a complete hash of every loot system in the game.
-
Wtf was that all about. Instance farming has been around since the game -blam!-ing launched. It's nothing new and people will continue to do it, especially for those sword quests.

2 AntwortenDafuq are you ranting about? I thought they already patched/nerfed 3 of coins exploit.

Cheating implies that I was planning on playing fair to begin with ;)

19 AntwortenNice try, but you will be unable to sway the minds of these depraved people. They take no joy in the experience like they should. Instead the only thing that matters to them is the loot, not the fun that you have earning it or the fun that they would have taking on a challenge and having fun pushing themselves. You are talking to the people that would rather take the easy way out and rather be awarded free handouts than work for their gear themselves. If you want to escape these kinds of people, go grab a Souls series game. Noobs like those never survive past the tutorial because nobody is holding their hand and giving them a gimme after a failure. This is how the loot system in Destiny should have been. Give rewards based on the challenge. Poor rewards for petty tasks, "meh" rewards for "meh" tasks and godly rewards for completing feats that only a true legend could accomplish.

And this is why people are burnt out of destiny they say it's too grindy but really it's not!

84 AntwortenAs a 48 year old lifelong player (and dad of four young adults who knows a thong or two about "ethics discussions" ), I hear you and disagree with your position without reservation. I can't believe I'm writing a post like an old war veteran, lol - but back in the day, every game had a workaround. Every. Game. That was part of the fun for a lot of us - not only did you get to enjoy the creation of the artists who built the game, but you also would probe the code for weaknesses, look at in-game interactions differently than the dev team, and come up with novel approaches to beating a game. This manufactured sense that it's all about "entitled kids these days" is a load of crap. Most kids I know are pretty awesome - they're also a hell of a lot better informed than we were as gamers in the 80's. (Anyone under the age of 20 - imagine how you'd connect and learn if you didn't have wireless or web connectivity - freaky, huh? We're literally living in the last generations to not have that in common) It was our activities back in the neighborhood arcade and on our early consoles that helped shape the way games are developed and tested. Hell - the guys who made this game ARE THOSE GUYS. When mechanics get cheesed or unintended results get uncovered, these guys get to do a few things, like: 1) use advanced analytics models to test the results of a potential fix 2) have some "lessons learned" sessions to understand why they missed something that players found quickly 3) analyze some in-game "experiments" to see if they worked or didn't work. To sum up, please stop whining about the in-game behavior of a global player base. They are doing their job - and by the looks of it, they're doing a pretty badass job, and holding up their covenant with Bungie as active collaborators on the future of the game.

6 AntwortenBreak the rules? I paid $140 for this dumb ass game I'm going to do whatever the -blam!- I want. If they would stop -blam!-ing us at every chance people wouldn't glitch just saying
-
Finally someone who understands!

I'm just talking about fractions of a penny here. Ok? But we do it from a much bigger tray, and we do it a couple of million times.
to add to your office space reference
1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Kailera: 10/14/2015 11:02:26 PMIf the loot system was fairer and it was slightly easier to come by people wouldn't feel the need to have to glitch and exploit when the opportunity presents itself, or farm the shit out of things. If it is indeed true that the chance of earning decent rewards is decreased because of those who like to use glitches all the time, then that is a pretty sad state. If they don't like people using these farming methods then either make doing end-game content such as Nightfall strikes actually rewarding, or don't allow for these farms to occur in the first place. I'm sick of getting two -blam!-ing strange coins or a single purple weapon all the time.
-
Anything that reduces the grinding, you bet your ass I'm gonna take full advantage. And why the -blam!- would you care? Abusing glitches in pvp is what's wrong. That I definitely don't condone.

1 Antwortenyea well bungie could just fix their shit without punishing everybody you know, thats a copout to say that because of cheaters they are nerfing 3oc they are choosing to do that

1 AntwortenIf the rewards felt (were) fair people wouldn't resort to this.

This is why I don't cheese anything.

1 AntwortenAmen! I grew tired of the cheating in this game when it messed up the first Queen's event. Then the cheating messed up Atheon. So on and so forth, there are to many players who want to be gods in a game. They need to go back to NES and use cheat codes. Their cheating is ruining the experience for so many other players. It's selfishness and laziness and yet the cheaters act like they are good at this game.
-
9 AntwortenTbh people pay for the game and deserve to play the game how they want. I've never personally did this new glitch and don't plan to because I prefer doing the raids and night falls, but if they prefer this way then let them do it.
