XUR IS BROKEN
Reason 1 : Engrams for old gear are 3x more expensive than new ones.
Reason 2 : There is no weapon.
Reason 3 : Random engram now costs Strange Coins instead of Motes of Light.
Reason 4 : Random engrams cost more coins than GUARANTEED engrams.
Reason 5 : Heavy synths got nerfed. Old reason, but still valid.
Reason 6 : Curios literally has nothing, and the new item ... lol ... you'll figure that mess out yourself.
Reason 7 : At least for this week, almost all the items are re-hashes from Year 1. Only Warlocks get "NEW" item.
Reason 8 : Exchange for Motes of Light still exist in Xur's shop, even though you CAN'T USE THEM WITH XUR.
Reason 9 : Everything is more expensive, even though the methods of gaining Strange Coins were cut in half.
FINAL REASON : Same old broken record, but Non-TTK people pretty much can't even use Xur anymore.

EDIT : Clarification on "Strange Coins"
Pre-patch, if you ran all 3 characters, doing the weekly, daily, and set-missions; you were GUARANTEED 50 strange coins a week if you did ALL OF THEM on ALL THREE CHARACTERS
Currently, every single one of those dailies/weeklies/missions have been completely erased from the game, entirely.
On top of that, the higher-tier events that replaced it are weekly/daily per account, that you can only run once for rewards.
I enjoy how all of you "smart" people keep telling me I'm wrong. Why would I make a serious post without checking my facts first.
You all must be so used to trolls and morons, don't ever associate me with them.

About the Strange Coins - last night on a Cosmodrome Patrol, i got one of those cryptic communication missions where the words start off as question marks - ???????? ????? example. When I completed it, I got 3 strange coins as a reward. I also got one after a standard public event. I think the coins are going to be more random drop than getting them from the Weekly. Since TTK, I have come across many Strange Coins.

Bungie wanted to do something different with Xur for year 2 do they decided to shake up his inventory a bit. Apparently it is subject to change and considering how many people did not realise 'Legacy Engram' meant year 1 gear with year 1 stats and how many people used and abused the 'Three of Coins' his offerings next week will look very different. My only complaints were that the 'Legacy Engrams' cost so much strange coins even though they were all obsolete, why the inflation there, surely they would have cost less. Also, why doesn't he sell engrams for motes of light anymore?

1 AntwortenOff topic but not really. What's the best way to get strange coins now? I had almost 400 pre Xûr visit, now have 300 post visit.. May have splurged a bit.. BUT!!! Obviously this kind of spending is not sustainable. Where can I get a decent inflow of SCs now? Appreciate the advice in advance guys. Thanks n

You get 5 coins per any package now guaranteed as well as 5 motes of light.

It's so easy to get strange coin now! Much easier then weekly strikes! They drop from quests, engrams, chests. Just basic things were supposed to be doing. Since xur was in last week I've gotten 148 strange coins. Reason why engrams not sold for motes. It's easy to get 1-200 motes a week with 3 characters.
