HOW TO GET AN EXOTIC SWORD ALL STEPS LISTED

Obtain legendary sword.
To get the Exotic Sword Questline you must first INFUSE the sword until it reaches 280+ attack. WHEN THE SWORD HITS 280 ATTACK ONE MORE UPGRADE NODE WILL BE ADDED TO THE WEAPON You must also have all the XP nodes on the weapon filled. I just used Motes of Light and a Heavy Telemetry. Then fill them in with weapons parts etc.
The next step is to speak with Lord Shaxx in the tower he will give you the physical quest. You must Kill 50 majors (Yellow Bar) with the Sword and also 25 guardians with the sword. The sword doesn't have to have Heavy Ammo for these kills. (Good luck killing without it though - it's a slow two hit kill in the crucible without a charge with no lunge....yeah lmao)
After this you must speak with Shaxx and he will as you to kill Escthar, The Sword Of Oryx in the Asylum. YOU GO IN ON PATROL. To get to the Asylum from the Spawn Point in the Hull Breach you turn right and travel alongside the flank of the cabal airship and you head down the dirt path into the Masoleum. In the Far Back right corner there will be a single door (doesn't have three openings) this anteroom will turn right you head down the hallway until you hit The Founts. Take a left another left then down into the prison. You will take a right eventually following the underside of the prision which you will find red enemies. Kill them.
Now you will see three Hive Boomer Majors to open the Asylum you must kill all three within the extent of of about a super in time. I killed them with a single super. This opens the asylum. To wound Estchar you have to hit him with a Sword with heavy ammo first then he can be wounded normally.
The next step requires you to gain planet materials based on the materials you have to given Shaxx earlier in the Questline for the legendary sword. The material will also be described on the flavor text of the mission. For my solar sword for example you have to pick up helium filaments to gain a special material called a Solitron Flare for 10 total. It only drops from the material nodes not the chests. You also must get solar ability kills. It could take an hour or so to grind out the materials.
Once you complete this task you must wait for next weeks armsday and you will receive the final challenge of a 300 level strike.

So if your trying to get the solar flares can u still use keen scout

Use a night stalker hunter with Keen scout. it points out all of the planet materials so you can find more of them for the step where you need to get your specific material

1 AntwortenI think the hardest part is farming for material. Omg I nearly lost my mind farming for helium filaments on the moon while doing sol edge. 3+ hrs. Good thing is I might never run out of helium filaments... Ever! The trick is, once u get a material, return to orbit and then back to farming. It give u the material in like after a maximum of 6 harvest. If u don't return to orbit I can assure u, the next material will be like in another 30-45mins. I started with the bolt caster, then the dark drinker and finally the Raze lighter. For some reason it skipped a whole lot of steps for the final sword. It went straight to solar ability kills and harvest material. I didn't need hadium flakes or crucible kills. Now am waiting for armsday to do the strike. For people who find it difficult to do the ability kills, I think it's because u don't know where to look for tons of enemies. Siege of the warmind is NOT the best place. It is an OK place if u need to kill about 50 enemies. But the exotic quest requires u kill atleast 200 enemies. If u have done the gjallahorn quest, then the best place where u can easily have up to 300 enemies coming at u is the part where your gjallahorn is being forged by your ghost in the mission "Beauty in Delivery". Stay in the room and the entrance will always be full with atleast 50 enemies. ALWAYS! Make sure after u kill the second captain, nuke your self and repeat and u will have any ability kills in under 15 in. As I said, u have a ton of enemies coming at u.

Am I the only one who thought the crucible part was easy? I got 8-10 sword kills per game if i got the heavy. Getting the heavy ammo was the hardest part.

1 Antwortenlike me, most people are going to struggle with and have a hard time with getting 25 guardian kills. my first time doing this was for the solar sword back when quest first came out, and at that time shotguns werent used like today, so getting sword kills was much easier. today however...just getting heavy ammo 1 time per match is lucky. so i completed the 25 heavy weapon kills today, by playing supremecy and killin. with the hilt when i could. its hard, since everyone uses shotguns. i had to be sneaky n'flank the enemy n use heavy ammo wen available. GL!

6 AntwortenI am so lost. I have my Titan's sword all the way up to 330 attack. My Dead Orbit rating is @ level 28. The sword is leveled up completely, but no new node has appeared (last one on there is the amount of ammo it can carry). I have gone to Lord Shaxx numerous times and he has no quest for me. I have even completed the Quest from Dead Orbit when it reached level 25 for the Exotic Armor Upgrade that allows you to use 2 Exotic Armor pieces at once. Why can I not get this questline? Am I missing something? Any help is appreciated!!

9 AntwortenProbably the most frustrating part of the exotic sword quests are finding the right people to do the Sunless Cell strike with. Each sword has a particular major knight to defeat and you might be the only one in the fireteam needing a particular kill ,,, for example, if you need the arc knight (for bolt caster) and the other two are looking for the solar knight ( for razelighter) then there's a high chance of them killing the arc knight as he's the first of the three to come out ,,, followed by void and then solar. If your arc knight is killed early, meaning you won't kill Aluk- hul within 30 seconds, then you'll need to do the whole strike again.

12 AntwortenThe 25 crucible kills is maddening. Don't get me wrong, I'm actually pretty decent at Crucible, I place on the higher side most matches. But getting heavy ammo, let alone using it on a close range weapon, is incredibly hard/tricky. 25 sword kills is too much. I could even deal with 15

Im doing everything every video walkthrough and guide told to do im getting this over and over again this was hard work im not waiting a whole new week to do a TIMED thing just for fighting a boss.. Really i have to kill something with my ability? Really so im a nightstalker and my shadowshot does nothing on the wardens knights i wonder how its going to work out for the elemental knights.. Tell me im getting angry

8 AntwortenI can't stand having to go into the Crucible. Getting 25 kills with a close-contact weapon is maddening. Assuming I get heavy ammo in a match and assuming I can kill at least one person, that could mean 25 matches that are at least 10 minutes each. That's over 4 hours, not including the time between matches. If it was something like "Kill 5 Champions", I could do that in half the time, if not less. Hell, I'd rather do a Nightfall alone, which I've done before, than screw around with 25 guardian kills in the Crucible. I guess I'm strange. I didn't even have an Xbox Live account until I reached level 20 back in year 1. I like strikes, but the crucible just sucks the joy out of the game. Even when we win, it's just a bitter, angry claim to victory.

I'm at 7/10. Been at it for 2 hours lol. Doing the void edge. Kills are easy. I am taking a break right now.

Bearbeitet von Mundordin: 8/4/2016 4:09:37 PMme and a friend are doing the sol edge, my friend got VERY salty coz of the hunter solar skill aren't the best at killing unlike my warlock where my super allows me to spam grenades and a melee skill that explodes killing more. hardest part for both of us is the 10 materials for the chance of getting them is very low, for the past few hours and im only on 3/10 and round 70% kills yet his is like 1/10 and 36% kills

If you're are starting your exotic sword quest please note do NOT buy the legendary sword with the character you plan on doing the exotic quest with. Transfer all three to a character who has NOT purchased a sword with hadium flake. This let's you unlock all of them instead of just the one that you bought. I started the exotic quest with sol edge and ended with arc edge and it gave me BOTH material quests (after "honing the edge" quest) also USE A TITAN FOR RAZE LIGHTER AND BOLT CASTER . Use juju or supercell on crota end raid for fast super charge for subclass kills, hammers or smash wipe, rinse, repeat
