I feel like Bungie is forcing you to buy things now. I got o. Thinking that there were going to be all these new things like armors and weapons and great things; I was so excited. Then I get on and look at everything, and every piece of legendary armor or weapons require TTK. Which is really a let down because it felt like I HAD to buy a brand new game to continue playing one that I had since last year. With the other DLCs, it was fine because they added new things and the only things that were restricted if you didn't own The Dark Below or House of Wolves were things that pertained solely to those expansions (i.e. Eris Morn items and Crota's End loot, Variks and Petra's items and PoE exotic weapons). I could still play the game just fine, just doing dailies, weeklies, and the Nightfall when it wasn't DLC strikes. Now they've taken out the good stuff and dropped trash for us gamers who don't want or haven't gotten TTK. I'm basically playing for blue engrams and gaining +10 reputation for a single Legacy Strike. Oh yeah, I can play in the Crucible, but why? I can't have rewards for doing my part in reaching high rank to buy weapons and gear. Nope. Now they took out Vanguard and Crucible Marks to put in Legendary Marks, but, you guessed it, you can only earn them by playing TTK-related strikes and missions! You know, apart from dismantling year two items you were lucky enough to snag from high rank packages, which you can only look at for a few seconds before deciding 'well, I'm not going to need this, as cool as it looks' before you dismantle it and look at the three marks you got from it in victory, but also regret. The only thing we have now without TTK is... well, missions we've done before with the old weapons we already have wearing the old gear we've had and supers we've had. They might've gave the year one people a new shader, emblem, and sparrow, but is that really enough to keep people from leaving because they can virtually no longer play the game for the rewards they want? I don't know, but I've read that a lot of people were leaving because of no game to play. Personally, I could understand restrictions a lot of stuff over the huge expansion of TTK, but not locking up the whole game and forcing people to spend forty more dollars, which is basically no longer a choice. When The Dark Below and House of Wolves hit, I played the game without a problem because neither DLC interfered with my gaming at all. And when I had extra money, I bought the two and enjoyed it. Not because I needed them to play Destiny like a regular game, but because I simply wanted them now that I could afford them. Maybe I don't understand marketing because I don't have a degree in selling people stuff, but I find it hard to understand why I HAVE to pay forty dollars to play my favorite game again. All we have now is story, strikes that don't reward anything we need, and VoG (Crota's End and/or PoE for those of you who have the expansions).
So much things are missing from Destiny now and I can't do a thing. I looked at everything the vendors had to sell and simply thought to myself 'too bad I'm poor'. People who own TTK are probably just tired of seeing all the rants and just want us to shut up, which is agreeable, I'd hate people complaining over something nonsensical, but they don't see things from our point of view. Bungie dropped the expansion and said 'You didn't buy The Taken King? Well, have fun playing another game until you can spare forty dollars, kid.' Ha ha, the struggles.

Bearbeitet von Cubby Boy Jr: 9/15/2015 8:16:13 PMWhat's the point of progressing if you're already at the level required to play the content you own?

"Im boycotting TTK" "Wait, let me still play though!??"

Yeh it does suck specially if you can't afford it. You could see it was going to happen though as the nightfall and others had been looked out once in while since dark below.

6 AntwortenI think it is also unfair, the only reason why I can see them changing the model like this is to increase sales. It wasn't like this once TDB or HoW came out so why change it now. It is only going to hinder the game, sure there will be people who suck it up and buy TTK, but there will be also a good number of people who stop playing altogether. Why play when there is hardly anything to do? I mean you cant even choose what fcuking PvP mode you want to play, you play what Bungie wants you to play! I was quite looking forward to still popping on occasionally maybe try get to lvl 40, maybe try get some new gear ready so if I did TTK I would be ready, but looks like I wont be doing that. At least not for another few weeks until some honest reviews have come out and the hype has died down

4 Antwortenplay all the old activities that you paid for with all the OLD gear you paid for. want new gear? new activities? buy TTK
-
It's been 1 day. Can the people who purchased at least have a change to enjoy their purchase?
-
Euthanasia is the only option for you if you can't afford $40
-
You say it all. I agree.
-
6 AntwortenAgreed. Done with Destiny now. Playing MGS and waiting for Fallout 4.

9 AntwortenDude, it's an MMO ... the game progresses ... this isn't just Destiny ... this is now Destiny 2. It's a whole new game.

2 AntwortenAt least now we know Activision puts money first, customer satisfaction and making a good product second

20 AntwortenI feel like the taken king is bullshit. It does force other players to pay. It forces you out of things you bought with the first game. You can't do heroic anything or pretty much anything. Even dlc you paid for you can't access like trials it requires the taken king. I'm getting the taken king but I still think this bullshit is unfair and I see people post idiotic things like well you shouldn't move on if you don't buy the dlc. And that's fine don't let players play the new subclasses new maps and new areas that's fine. But don't close players to things they have paid for to begin with. And it's bullshit that bungie isn't getting shit for it. Especially after what luke smith said about dlc. It sucks that the community is allowing bungie to force players to buy dlc because they can't do shit. So much for we respect year one. I know there's plenty year one players no beta players that don't have the dlc for whatever reason and closing them out of stuff they already bought is bull. The other dlcs did stuff like this but never to this degree.

three months.

I don't believe that anyone actually read all of that
-
You don't need all the new gear if you're not gonna play the new stuff. You people are legit retarded. Smh

2 AntwortenHurray, wall of text. Organize this next time and I might ready it

9 AntwortenWhy on earth would you want to play vanilla Destiny a year after the fact in the first place? Aren't you bored? Also, do you really think buying a game entitles you to years and years of game play? You can buy a new game a year. This is a fake problem.
-
I agree. That's stupid.

-
4 AntwortenI agree. I still think you should get to level 40, half of the new subclasses, and nightfall, bit not endgame loot.

I can't even get my VIP rewards without the DLC, and am stuck at level 34! Wtf!

14 Antworten
Maybe I don't understand marketing because I don't have a degree in selling people stuff, but I find it hard to understand why I HAVE to pay forty dollars to play my favorite game again
Because you don't own the game. You rent it. The content you have now is only meant to entice you to buy TTK. If you don't, have fun with the old content.

it sounded like a good reason to complain, but i only read about a third of it. how about paragraphs next time? nobody wants to read a wall of text.
