I feel like Bungie is forcing you to buy things now. I got o. Thinking that there were going to be all these new things like armors and weapons and great things; I was so excited. Then I get on and look at everything, and every piece of legendary armor or weapons require TTK. Which is really a let down because it felt like I HAD to buy a brand new game to continue playing one that I had since last year. With the other DLCs, it was fine because they added new things and the only things that were restricted if you didn't own The Dark Below or House of Wolves were things that pertained solely to those expansions (i.e. Eris Morn items and Crota's End loot, Variks and Petra's items and PoE exotic weapons). I could still play the game just fine, just doing dailies, weeklies, and the Nightfall when it wasn't DLC strikes. Now they've taken out the good stuff and dropped trash for us gamers who don't want or haven't gotten TTK. I'm basically playing for blue engrams and gaining +10 reputation for a single Legacy Strike. Oh yeah, I can play in the Crucible, but why? I can't have rewards for doing my part in reaching high rank to buy weapons and gear. Nope. Now they took out Vanguard and Crucible Marks to put in Legendary Marks, but, you guessed it, you can only earn them by playing TTK-related strikes and missions! You know, apart from dismantling year two items you were lucky enough to snag from high rank packages, which you can only look at for a few seconds before deciding 'well, I'm not going to need this, as cool as it looks' before you dismantle it and look at the three marks you got from it in victory, but also regret. The only thing we have now without TTK is... well, missions we've done before with the old weapons we already have wearing the old gear we've had and supers we've had. They might've gave the year one people a new shader, emblem, and sparrow, but is that really enough to keep people from leaving because they can virtually no longer play the game for the rewards they want? I don't know, but I've read that a lot of people were leaving because of no game to play. Personally, I could understand restrictions a lot of stuff over the huge expansion of TTK, but not locking up the whole game and forcing people to spend forty more dollars, which is basically no longer a choice. When The Dark Below and House of Wolves hit, I played the game without a problem because neither DLC interfered with my gaming at all. And when I had extra money, I bought the two and enjoyed it. Not because I needed them to play Destiny like a regular game, but because I simply wanted them now that I could afford them. Maybe I don't understand marketing because I don't have a degree in selling people stuff, but I find it hard to understand why I HAVE to pay forty dollars to play my favorite game again. All we have now is story, strikes that don't reward anything we need, and VoG (Crota's End and/or PoE for those of you who have the expansions).
So much things are missing from Destiny now and I can't do a thing. I looked at everything the vendors had to sell and simply thought to myself 'too bad I'm poor'. People who own TTK are probably just tired of seeing all the rants and just want us to shut up, which is agreeable, I'd hate people complaining over something nonsensical, but they don't see things from our point of view. Bungie dropped the expansion and said 'You didn't buy The Taken King? Well, have fun playing another game until you can spare forty dollars, kid.' Ha ha, the struggles.

They dont care if you keep playing. They want people who buy dlc's. All video games costs about 100$ these days. Go back to playing neopets or pretty princess pony land

11 AntwortenContent previously purchased is now unplayable that is an unfair tactic basically.... They're saying I know you spent $60 purchasing the game on its release and I know you've paid $35 for a season pass for two more downloadable content now you can't play any of that unless you spend 40 more bucks

They should have just called in Destiny 1.5, let us transfer over our characters, and leave everyone else in the dust.

7 AntwortenBearbeitet von Darklighter108: 9/15/2015 5:13:57 PMpeople are honestly idiots on this forum. Not the OP, but people responding to him/her. NO games lock you out of content you've already paid for. Never in my life have I seen DLCs added that don't allow you to play the original content. If TTK really changes the core game THAT much, RELEASE IT AS A NEW GAME! How hard would that have been. Hell, they could even add a system where you can import your characters. Look at Borderlands 2. All the DLC was added, but you could still go through and play ANY old content you wanted. And when they updated the game for The Handsome Collection, you could upload your characters. They didn't suddenly turn off parts of the old game. Yes, you are locked out of the NEW content, which is obvious, but NEVER were you unable to play anything that came on the original disc. In addition, it's INSANE that they didn't adjust the price for other countries currency exchange. Just shows a lack of respect to ALL gamers.

5 AntwortenI totally agree with you, I am very disappointed in bungie.

Bearbeitet von Big Rab 666: 9/16/2015 11:00:54 AMI put my hand in my pocket and got loads of new stuff. Tis very good. So far it's worth the forty quid. This is the only game I've bought in a year. It's saved me so much on buying other games lol. Forza six will be my next purchase (the fact it comes with my special edition console is irrelevant)

Should have started this with "INCOMING WALL OF TEXT" and included a tl;dr. The length is stupid.

9 AntwortenJeez, 40 dollars for more content in a game we really like? You'd think people would be happy to buy that shit and expand the game. I see you're broke, but 40 dollars? It's not that much. Maybe take out a bank loan? Good luck mate.

5 AntwortenDo people start playing any MMO expecting to only have a one time up front cost? I feel like there are lots of folks with unrealistic expectations about "what they feel entitled to."

2 AntwortenWhat they need to do is, have playlists for those with TTK and those w/o. Detect who has what expacs on their systems and go from there. Simple programming, really.

2 Antworten$100 for 12 months = $8.30 a month, you played a game for a year with fresh content every 4 months and you payed about $8.30 a month for that content...I could panhandle $8.30 in an hour. So how is this a ripoff again? It's year two, go panhandle a little more, or gather up the change in your couch because you've paid for year one not all content released until the end of development. As far as the pay wall is concerned it is a server based game, Bungie is not going to keep additional servers online for people that don't want to support their content releases seeing as the player base is continuing to grow, I would do the same.

1 AntwortenWhen your mom gives you the $40 for TTK when welfare checks comes. Take that $40 up to the gas station and ask the clerk what a page break is.

Bearbeitet von SpaceNinja117: 9/15/2015 9:58:33 PMFor the love of God, man! Use more paragraphs. But seriously, this is just the way these types of games work. Old gear WILL get devalued so the new stuff is actually worth it. You can still enjoy vanilla Destiny, but you cannot possibly expect to get access to the new items. Only notable issue I agree with are the legendary marks.

If not progressing with the rest of us is your considered option for the future then delete your characters and start again as this game is all about progression and taking your character on a journey. Personally I'm happy.to go along for the ride because it's fun and I don't have to work that hard for minor rewards. Perhaps youre not happy with the journey put out in front of you. If this is the case then stop playing. It's not going to do you any good complaining about it. Oh BTW I'm level 40. Have done 3 story missions. Found loads of secret areas in the dreadnought just by patiently exploring and genuinely appreciate the thought which bungie have put into making this version a bit more cerebral in its approach to player interest. Of course it's up to you... but don't bring others down if you aren't happy. Just change your approach and share your new happy.

May I ask (unless someone already did) why not just buy ttk?
-
Wall of text.... Couldn't care to find your point in that mess
-
I was on the fence and probably going to buy TTK eventually. The way to get me to buy it is to let me keep playing the game. Eventually I will see all the great things I am missing out on and go spend money on TTK. since Destiny is essentially unplayable now, there's no way I'm going to be convinced to buy TTK.
