It's going to take four billion years for that galaxy to collide with us.
Destiny is set close to one thousand years in the future, so andromeda would still be way too far away to see easily.

It will take much much much longer than that
-
They're moving closer to each other at a rate of 68 mi/s with a distance of over two million lightyears. It is predicted to take four billion years. Look it up.
-
I just noticed your activity line. That's golden. Lol
-
It's an honest question
-
Its like 400 years not 2000

Bearbeitet von AdunSaveMe: 9/12/2015 4:59:11 AMBungie said Destiny is set almost 1000 years in the future. So we're both wrong.

-
Because the difference between 1,000 and 2,000 is oh so obvious when the heavenly entity in question is four billion light years away. ... -_-
-
But...the Earth is a little over 2000 years old, according to the Good Book.
-
2,000 years to God could be more like 20,00 years in our prospective...
-
Many theologians actually believe that the Bible dates the world at around 6,000 years old, although quite a few date it to be at least 10,000 years old.
-
Oh yeah, 6000 years. Lol. I find that hilarious.
-
I find the idea that, regardless of the law of conservation of matter and energy, "scientists" still believe in the Big Bang Theory. But that's none of my business.
-
Regardless, saying the Earth is less than 10,000 years old is ridiculous. There are fossils older than that.
-
Are there? What fossil dating method that is super accurate? You should google inns heavies in the radio-carbon dating method; the most "reliable" method of dating.
-
Even if it isn't "super accurate," it is definitely accurate enough to determine the difference between 1,000 and 1,000,000 years. I am not going to argue with someone who honestly believes the world is roughly 10,000 years old, so if you truly believe that there is really no hope and I am done. Watch the debate between Bill Nye and Ken Hamm sometime.
-
I've seen the debate, and I believe that Hamm really didn't do a god job. I like how you just try to make me sound like an idiot and then call the argument "done" because you can't meet me in the middle. You changed the subject from the Big Bang Theory to the age of the earth without ever answering the question. And by the way, look it up and tell me how old the professor's coffee cup was. Can you tell me what the process is for carbo dating? Do you know what different environmental variables can change the "half-life" of carbon? Please, let's talk about it.
-
Actually, we were on the subject of the age of the Earth and you changed it to the Big Bang Theory, which I nudged back on topic to the original topic. Also, I never claimed to be an expert in carbon dating, I merely stated that it is advanced enough to determine a difference in 1,000 years and 1,000,000 years.
-
The coffee cup says differently. In any case, clearly you're an intelligent guy (or girl- your text isn't exactly blue or pink. Lol) who knows a thing or two. Maybe we should try and just have a civil conversation about it? I've only met two people ever who could have this conversation and we could simply agree to disagree, but those two people are two of my closest friends. PM me if you're interested! ^_^
-
There are fossils dating millions of year ago

-
^_^ You took that biting sarcasm quite well. I think we can be friends. Lol XBONE?

Me? Yes gt Rydrago
