I've look at the new DLC and it just doesn't seem worth $40. The DLC costs 2/3 of the original game's price but it only gives 1/3 of the content. Also we all know the level cap means jack. Just like with the other overpriced DLC soon all players will be able to become level 40 while the others who paid for the DLC will keep throwing money at Bungie. The Taken King looks fun, don't get me wrong, but it feels like Bungie keeps labeling their content at ridiculous prices because they know their player base will eat it up. Look at the past two DLC's, $20 each and they were existing missions that were just backwards and the content was actually on the disc.
Also by the way, I'm not trying to stop people from buying the DLC. If you want to throw money at Bungie, that's your choice. I'm just raising some thoughts of mine.
Edit: thank you guys for your posts, Whether you agree with me or not I do appreciate the different opinions and comments (well... Most of them),. If you bought the DLC or planning to buy it I hope you guys have fun and enjoy it.

2 AntwortenIf you really put numbers to it, think about it this way. . .(thank you for posting this in a respectful manner btw) -$40 for TTK; potentially several hundred hours of gameplay -quests, looking for ghosts, finding exotics, etc. . . - $60 for another new game, we'll use The witcher 3 as an example (since I've played and finished and know how long it took me to almost max the content out) -roughly 60-70 hours of gameplay and limited online play Although it's a DLC, aside from size, there is far more 'content' than most full brand new games. I have to admit, I am a huge Destiny fan, and I did buy the physical collectors edition (I'm a sucker for extras) But it's one of those, if you want to, get it, if not, don't. I'm not sure what console you are on, but you seem level headed. If you do we use to get it, and are on xbox one, hit me up man. I'll play with you. Peace, have a good night all.

1 AntwortenIf your not happy with the price simply don't buy it yet. alot of my clan mates, and myself included, think its pretty pricey for dlc/sequel and we will end up paying ~$62 (£40). So just wait a few weeks for some honest reviews on TTK if you like what you see then go for it. there alot of other games coming out which are around this £40 price bracket which could be a better investment of your money. I just bought Metal Gear Solid 5 for £37 and so far its had some of the most positive reviews i've seen. I will probably end up buying TTK at some point because I love playing Destiny but still wanna make sure that its going to be worth it and not "recycled" content as you said

Yes it is overpriced... good luck for bungie we don't have plenty options right now.

11 AntwortenBro don't start preaching s*** if u don't know what ur talking about. This expansion is being advertised like a brand new game and if that is true (which it is) we are lucky that they r not charging us sixty dollars for the expansion.
-
1 AntwortenYes. Based on the BS DLCs from before, I'll consider TTK to be all hype and no bite. Good thing Halo 5, Fallout 4 and Star Wars are dropping soon. Might pick up MGS5 too.
-
3 AntwortenIt is way over priced. They should only charge $0.99. While they are @ it they should throw in Destiny 2, 3 & 4 with all dlcs for free.

Yes and true

1 AntwortenI preorderd for 30$ Didn't even have to pay to switch my 360 digital version to xb1

2 AntwortenI dont get how ppl can say no all they did was make all the old gear useless so now we have to start the grind all over again and pay 40 lol no thanks

3 Antworten18 gigs for ttk update. 25 gigs for vanilla(xbox one)... how is that 1/3rd????
-
Can't judge until all content played

4 AntwortenBearbeitet von DaKoalaWrangler: 9/10/2015 9:30:59 PMHere it's $70 (at the least, that is on the PS store, with only the TTK DLC), and honestly that price is not worth the content I would receive. After the disappointment of TDB and HOW, I was unsure if I wanted to buy it, and now that it has a $70 price tag, I'm going to spend my money on better games.
-
Of course it's overpriced. The people who bought it up so far proved they could get away with it. Plus people will defend it the same way the defended the original price of Ground Zeroes. Both are incredibly short and aren't even remotely the size of the original or main game. All these people keep saying "I've spent " x number "of hours playing Destiny so it's worth it@. Freaking idiots. Hours from pure repetition don't count especially when they could be playing a better game.

2 AntwortenNah. Its a whole nother game
-
1 AntwortenIndeed, as comparison, all Fallout's DLCs will cost a one-time $40

1 AntwortenUuuuuuggggghhh

4 AntwortenGuy at GameStop said if you have the game plus the other 2 dlc it's only 20$ which seems underpriced in my opinion. 40$ seems fine we get classes, guns, raid, new patrol, swords, ghost shells, and basically 2x the fun. Worth it
-
Yeah i agree, plus once a new dlc comes out people who didnt pay for it get the crucible maps, more than likely some other stuff, and are able to level up, takes a bit longer but still... Like i said, completely agree but as long as there are people buying it, it wont change, and you arent going to convince people to not buy it because of the stupid pricing. Im most upset about the fact you cant upgrade it from ps3 anymore, we have to buy it on both consoles now and spent a hell of a lot of money on this game already. Oh well.
-
3 AntwortenPersonally o think $20 was pretty cheap for the last dlcs. Considering what else you can get for that miney
-
18 AntwortenWhat people aren't understanding is that The Taken King is a sequel. This is pretty much Destiny 2. This pretty much a whole new game but at a decent price. It's gonna be that way for the next 8 years too. I wouldn't mind paying $40 for a new game at all if you ask me.
-
How much time are you going to spend on it? How much is that time worth?
-
7 AntwortenIt fits with the current pricing structure. It is double the price of the last dlc and it has double the content.
-
3 Antworten$/hours played, if you "try" to think about that maybe your questions will be answered.
-
So what will the next DLC cost after TTK lol?I refuse to buy TTK and I've played since beta.Sure they have to make a profit let me guess 10 million guardians buying TTK at lets say $70 and its DLC so your looking at a pretty tidy amount of money! For what for a raid a story mode at the start(which is over in a day)then a few extra maps and crucible maps and rift and mayhem?
-
2 AntwortenStop yapping I personally am not getting it (price) but I'm not bitching about it
