Shotguns aren't broken, we just suck as players
We need to recognize that there are counters to this weapon, and 99% of our deaths are our fault.
Learn proper spacing and radar usage and shotguns will not be a problem for you

1 AntwortenI'd say shotguns are in a good place now. The're definitely still used heavily but not as much. I also don't get one hit killed by them as often because most of them are shorter ranges shotguns with faster rates of fire.

Agreed 100% Coming around a corner and catching a shotgun in a face from someone crouching and or invisible pisses me off... But not as much as a sniper who is hiding. (I play very reckless with both and expect to die in a head to head firefight. When people hide it pisses me off!)

4 AntwortenThe weapon is mostly used as a crutch for people who can't normally get kills consistently with other weapons. It's easy. Doesn't take much skill. I get it. We all find weapons that work for us and make it the easiest to get kills but these weapons pull up the bottom feeders. I hate getting killed by them but I still do well regardless. I don't think there is a real fix for the issue but at least Halo is right around the corner. ;)

20 AntwortenI love shotguns. To be honest, people who keep dying by them deserve it. Stop running around corners like a nutjob. Take it slow and kneel a lot to stay off radar. The amount of times people just run blindly round corners into my barrel is ridiculous. Also, keep your distance!! Primaries have good range so use it if you don't want to be pumped full of lead

My fusion rifle destroys shotgun users. Almost feels unfair haha. Check it on my hunter

It's also partially the map design with corridors and corners everywhere so most shotgunners can run towards you and kill you before you kill them with a primary.

MIDA + max agility = sprint while walking (Slightly slower however when backing up) You should be able to outrun shotgunners with this setup while backing up and shooting them.

1 AntwortenTrue, but it's not that shotguns are "OP" or "broken", it's the fact that bungie doesn't remember how to make maps. Every single* map is Pro shotgun, too many close quarters maps. If they make maps correctly then shotguns wouldn't be used so excessively. Map design makes aggressive shotgunning the most effective way to win therefore making shotguns very powerful or, in the words of angry little people, "Crutches". *Granted there are a few select maps such as First Light and Bastion that are more for long range engagements.
