Everything we're excited for in year 2 comes with the 2.0 patch. The Destiny Taken King twitch stream showed nothing that actually comes with the taken King. What was revealed was stuff that we get for free with the new patch. All that is awesome. But I'm just worried that the taken king content wise isnt much bigger than the two prior dlc's and therefore doesn't really merrit a 40 dollar price tag. I, for one, am waiting with buying the expansion until I see some evidence that this is worth 40 bucks. The thing is, bungie is marketing all of the year 2 patch 2.0 changes as being part of the taken king. When all we're really getting with TTK is the dreadnaught, the raid and the 3 subclasses. What's your take on all this?

2 AntwortenIt's nothing like the first 2 dlc, this is well worth the money. Even the story missions are better than the vanilla.

Yea im a bit apprehensive as well, it will have to make a believer out of me. It really seems like they are over complicating it with all the runes and artifacts feels like its taking a dungeons and dragons twist which im not real stoked about. The trials of Osiris really needs some work as well there needs to be a way to keep people from lagging and cheating in trials.

2 AntwortenDoubt it'll be worth the price, but there's really nothing else until November....lol.

1 AntwortenThe European people are getting ripped off. $67

4 AntwortenI got mine for free. My buddy downloaded it on his console and I guess since his GT is on mine, it downloaded onto mine as well.

5 AntwortenAnd they're removing ToO, content that we PAID for, content that was advertised as basically 1/3rd of the HoW DLC. I don't know wether or not they are taking it out to resell it or to work on it but they don't need to remove it to work on it, it's not a car part, it's digital content. Whatever they are doing, it's a slippery slope that will end up teaching other developers, publishers, and digital content makers in general that his is okay. How long do you think it will be before we see maps for sale on CoD that will be removed the second their next game comes out? Scumbags like EA already try to shut down their servers from their old games the moment a new one comes out so everyone will have to buy that one, how long until Vault of Glass, Crota's End, and Prison of Elders can only be accessed if you have the latest DLC? Soon people like EA, Activision, and Ubisoft will notice that this could potentially be the next big strategy to enervate income? I'm just saying, it's a slippery slope people, and I'd rather not see it steepen any time soon.

HzrilarOyzzhddjxjxic Is what I saw while reading this post

You are getting a lot more than that. A new campaign for example. But I have waited so far as well but will probably preorder this weekend. I think it's going to be worth it.

3 AntwortenStuff in the update -faction changes -Y1 questification -the kiosks -vault space -1 week or crucible -weapon balance -Y1 rewards (likely to be taken king gear that you can't equip though...) -new ghost voice overs -weekly strike changes -possibly a higher level cap, we don't know (I probably missed stuff so please tell me if I did) Coming with purchase of ttk -a -blam!- ton of new weapons -new exotics -swords -15 new story missions -a -blam!- ton of new quests -3 new subclasses -at least 3 new crucible modes -8 or so crucible maps -the dreadnought (new patrol, planetary material, court of oryx) -king's fall raid -3 new strikes -2 revamped old strikes -strike specific gear for both old and new strikes -arms day weapon purchases Much more paid content than free content. Please tell me about anything I missed.

$40 seems kinda steep... but only time will tell. If It has 2/3 of the amount of content vanilla Destiny had, then it's a fair price imho.
-
Nope we are not

1 AntwortenNew exotics, a bunch of new PVE and PVP missions. That's pretty much all that you're buying, summed up.
Only time will tell if it is truly worth it.
You play hundreds of hours and essentially complaining about 40 dollars. Dude seriously get a freaking grip.
-
9 AntwortenOf course you're getting ripped off, why the hell do you even need to ask. You could of waited 1 year for this shitty game and gotten everything for $65 instead of over $100.
-
2 AntwortenAre you joking? If you don't buy the dlc you will literally get nothing.
-
You'll forget all about this when you get your first gunsmith bounty and aren't sniped by a Thorn on Tuesday
-
Yes were always being ripped off. Always.....

Bearbeitet von Jutsu: 9/5/2015 7:26:39 PMThis is a valid concern. Honestly, I can't speak on the merits of the upcoming expansion. I can only be hopeful, and hopefully the dreadnaught is as extensive as is advertised. I hope these missions and quests are quite detailed. Also, there is the gear to consider; there's armor, weapons, ghosts, class items, ships, shaders, and emblems. I know that a few of those items are "meh" to some, but - technically speaking - they are still amongst the new content.
-
The dreadnaught, raid, subclasses, story missions. But then you have to remember that along with the dreadnaught we get new exotics that we have to find/have bounties for. With the raid, obviously, raid gear. With the story missions, more xp/faster leveling up, and enjoyment at least in the first playthrough.

2 AntwortenWoW was really no different. You got access to all the new features each patch, but you'd end up stuck at the old level cap, you couldn't go to new zones or get the new loot. Bungie seems to being much nicer about it as you can hit level 40 and I assume get new vendor guns. But you will be restricted from the new strikes, raids and even the nightfall if a TTK strike is in the rotation. That basically leaves you with the crucible and strike playlists... I wouldn't be satisfied with that.
-
4 AntwortenYou won't be able to play the pvp modes, or maps after the 15th. You also don't get any of the new gear or weapons or endgame content
-
2 AntwortenI preordered and however it goes down there is nothing that is going to make me feel like I was cheated or taken advantage of, I account for my own behavior and purchases and don't do the victim thing. If you don't feel like the content is worth the amount, you shouldn't buy it - if you are uncertain you should wait until it is out and read some reviews.

Bearbeitet von karso: 9/5/2015 6:31:57 PM*sigh* 3 new strikes (5 for xbox users,) 5x more then previous dlc 10 story missions, 3x more then previous dlc New set of exotic weapons and armour apparently 15-25 which is 4x more then previous dlc. Only 1 raid but supposedly going to be the best yet. I could go on about all the new "software" of you will but that all goes without saying.
-
Value is perceived. If you think it's a ripoff, it is...to you. Don't buy it. Others may perceive it differently and they will spend the money.
-
Bearbeitet von Tyr-Thanatos: 9/5/2015 5:19:02 PM10 new story missions that will take 6-7 hours to finish, new strikes, 5 new PvP maps and new modes, new exotics. new weapons, new sub classes, new raid all of which isnt going to be in the 2.0 patch, so no, you arent getting ripped off at all

7 AntwortenAll of the Crucible stuff is a preview, it'll become TTK exclusive on the 15th. The quest and bounty changes wouldn't make sense to apply only to TTK buyers. Same with all of the other changes to the Tower, Ghosts, and Light. Level 40 will only be accessible with TTK
