Gather round children and let me educate you. Destiny is a failed attempt to replicate the magic of the inceadibly sucessfull Borderlands series. Let's hop into it.
Basic gameplay mechanics: On a basic level Destiny and Borderlands have similar gameplay mechanics. These include: several types of guns, being able to equip more than 2 guns at a time (not a terribly common attribute), multiple classes each with a unique super ability, elemental weapons, an extraneously high number of unique guns (a trait not apparent in most first person shooters), ammo drops specific to gun types and many more things I'm sure I'm forgetting.
Online: Both Borderlands and Destiny are built around being a social expirience with vast online capabilities. Both have content that can only be completed with the help of other players. The difference is that Borderlands has copeus ammounts of content that don't require friends. One could easily get hundreds of hours of single player gameplay in any Borderlands game WITHOUT REPEATING ANY MISSION. Any Borderlands game has more single player accessible content than all of Destiny's content (including the dlc's.)
Story: Borderlans has a story. Boom roasted.
Loot: Both of these games have a similar loot concepts at their core and they boil down to: kill enemies/bosses and get loot in the long run. The difference however is that Borderlands has a much higher likelyhood of reward, often guaranteed rewards, whereas Destiny leaves a vast majortiy of their loot system up to complete unrewarding chance. Borderlands rewards it's players far better than Destiny does.
My final conclusion is that Bungie attempted to replicate the great game that is Borderlands, but fell short on the project. They fell short because they decided to make their game a slot machine with no content or story.
TL;DR: Stop playing Destiny, start playing Borderlands and git gud scrub.

2 AntwortenHoly shit dude, destiny uses similar game mechanics as another game?!?!? Not a single game other than destiny has done that ever. Youre a genius man
-
1 AntwortenDestiny is a completely different game, You like borderlands? Then go play it why the heck does everyone need to know what you think!?
-
Wait this isn't Satire?
-
2 Antwortenexcept it's all super repetitive as well good luck farming Vermi or any other boss for a perfect parts weapon drop rates are just as bad if not worse borderlands doesn't have weekly or monthly events but I will forever miss my Krieg, I will rob ably never have that much fun in any game again

2 AntwortenBoring, predictable bait. *muted*

1 AntwortenThey have some superficial similarities in their mechanics. But the online aspect of the game is very different.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Bubby Ryy: 9/7/2015 3:38:19 AMthey both have MMO elements within them and they are both based off MMO or inspired by previous MMO titles. (MMO = Massively Multiplayer Online) But really the Style of the games is too different for them to be similar...yes they may have similar mechanics but there is no way that destiny "is a failed attempt at borderlands" I mean what kinda connection do they have!? Furthermore I just don't agree with I just don't agree with what he's said Bungie may have made a few mistakes but no game can be perfect but that doesn't mean Bungie isn't achieving to make this game perfect it's "10 year plan" has given them time to work on DLCs and improvements which borderlands has not done so it has not shown as much dedication as destiny. And my Conclusion is that I don't think Destiny is a failed Borderlands at all... It's just a game that have similar MMO mechanics which a lot of games before them have in other first person shooters. (•••And this is officially the end of my argument which was just a practise to see if I can put (Point,Evidence,Explanation & Conclusion) in a few paragraphs looks like I got them...I think xDD•••)

3 AntwortenWhy are people still so salty about destiny? I mean, ever since it came out there were numerous haters, and there still our. OKAY we get it, hold your own opinion I don't care what you think, but when people say it over and over I feel it's a cry for attention. Don't like it, just don't have anything to do with it. Stick to playing whatever you like and have fun. No reason to be dicks. Bungie put a lot of work into making this game, which I know almost all you could never do, so keep your opinions to yourself. Okay I'm done now

1 AntwortenBorderlands is good but destiny is better

This game is nothing like borderlands?

Bearbeitet von THE COUNT DANTE: 9/7/2015 3:34:23 AMSince no one plays it, maybe you should push everyone to Galaga or Space invaders. Seems just as relevant.

I've played destiny since beta and borderlands since borderlands 2 came out. But I've got to say that the two games have the same concept, but deliver it wayyyy differently. Even though borderlands 2 is better by a mile.destiny is still an ok and fun game though
but to be honest, borderlands the pre sequel was a major let down
The only thing i found horrible about borderlands was the gun moving all over the place when ADSing. Maybe it was an attempt at realism cause you cant hold a gun up for a really long time but i found it extremely annoying when the gun is moving all over the place when i was staying perfectly still not even pulling the trigger.
-
Or I can play both and have fun equally :D
-
I played lots and lots of Borderlands, 1 and 2. And sure, the games have a lot of shared attributes, but so do alot of games. People bring this up as some kind of criticism, how they do so without irony is beyond me. I tried playing it again when it released for PS4 and the magic was gone. The jokes are funny the first time. The second time all you have is the grind. Destiny gunplay is much more satisfying than Borderlands. People who haven't played it should definitely try it out. It is certainly worth your time. But I will keep playing Destiny.

1 AntwortenAgreed. One dlc has more story than all of destiny. The humor is great. The guns are great and there are so many different kinds you can get (you can even get different versions of the same gun *gasp* kinda like what destiny is doing in year 2!) It's a great PvE game. One of the best IMO. I also love destiny. Well. I love loot based games. I love loot. Give. Me. LOOT. I'm an addict. I need help. Halp.

I doubt it, bordelands it is own unique game and Destiny also
