Most overrated franchise ever?
So which is it?
Personally it falls
1. COD, Anything after the OG Modern Warfare, but arguments can be made than W@W and MW2 were good too. Beyond that though, crap.
2. Destiny. Ugh don't need to explain this one.
3. Assassin's Creed. An old favorite of mine which kind of went down hill after Ezio. I liked Black Flag too, but may never try another one after Unity.
4. Battlefield. Just thought this may fit too. Nothing tops bad company 2 though.
Oh what're some real franchises???....
1. Fallout. New Vegas hurt, but Fallout 3 may be one of the best games ever.
2. Elder Scrolls. Forgetting ESO exists, Skyrim and Oblivion were absolute gems. Backwards compatability on the one needs to bring Skyrim and FAST.
3. Uncharted. Storytelling and solid game play all in one package and an all time favorite for me.
4. Halo. Personally huge into 1 and 2 then I left XBOX and people tend to say 4 wasn't great and they're worried about 5.
HM : The Last of Us. This may be one but it is not a franchise yet. If Naughty Dog churns out a few more of these and crushes it like they did, it may be an all time great and certainly a console seller.
[spoiler]Lastly oops I did it again. Although some real opinions in here. This is just to get people all fired up once they see DESTINY up top. But I doubt most will get past that and they'll get hooked. So I'm gonna be open with this one. [/spoiler]
Edit: I am not surprised by the poll at all!
I also admit to the omission of GTA as a real franchise while HMs should also be given to Bioshock, Borderlands and Mass Effect
Edit 2: from Wikipedia "Destiny marked Bungie's first new franchise since the Halo series, and the developers have a ten year plan for the franchise."
Edit 3: I guess a disclaimer was needed. I DID NOT HATE FALLOUT NEW VEGAS. It just wasn't the tremendous follow up to 3 I wanted. By all means I played the shit out of it and enjoyed it, just not as much as 3.

3 AntwortenI have only played New Vegas in the Fallout series and loved it. Then I heard that it was one of the worse ones in a lot of people's opinions which made me look forward to Fallout 4 even more since I loved playing the worse one of the series.

4 AntwortenAgree with CoD; anything after maybe Black Ops ([i]but even that was so damn boring[/i]) just doesn't have the [i]umph[/i] or passion anymore. Black Ops 2 was OK, and it was the last one I played, but that was a rare gem wedged in between MW3 and Ghosts. Also have to put Halo on here. They honestly should have stopped after 3, and released some books if they wanted to continue Chief's story. I stopped playing 4's campaign because it literally felt like I was playing CoD after a few missions. This is why I'm a little skeptical of Halo 5.

3 AntwortenI am surprised that bo3 is as good as it is. Ghosts and aw were terrible games but this new 1 is a lot more fun and feels like a older cod but with enough new elements. I never got assassin's creed but each their own I guess.

6 AntwortenCoD earned it hype because mw, WaW & mw2 were amazing. Now battlefield.. For me that game is over hyped, I've tried different battlefields on different occasions and it simply just stank for me every time without fail.

2 AntwortenWell, lets think this out. Destiny - most preordered game of all time currently. Whether you like it or not, I would not call that overrated; it's quite a feat. CoD - Most successful video game franchise ever. They used to have many great games, and although it is not that great anymore, it was still very successful while it lasted. Battlefield - battlefield is an odd fit on this list. It wasn't the most successful franchise and only produced on "gem" so to speak (bad company 2). Assassin's Creed - another odd fit. Assassin's Creed was on of the first games of its kind; a third person RPG. It also had some great games early in it's life cycle. With all this in mind, I would have to say battlefield is the most overrated video game franchise. It is hard to decide between any of these, because they have all been successful at some point.

For me it's CoD. I liked 1&2, loved CoD4, and thought WaW was pretty good. However, they started to lose me at MW2 where they turned it in to an action movie... and then Black Ops lost me.
