Based on the last weekly update, we will no longer have access to Weekly Nightfall Strikes, Weekly Heroic Strikes, Daily Strikes and Daily PVP events unless we buy TTK.
(Shortened to only convey the core of the issue since this is the point that most, not all, of the commenters seem to have missed from the weekly update of 8/27)
EDIT4: This is for all the people commenting that have not read the weekly update, or that in reading it failed to understand what it said:
Per the weekly update, all modifications to the weekly and daily events are indented under the heading of "Escalation". The listing of upcoming changes is prefaced by the statement,
Once you’ve completed the new story campaign, a whole new suite of endgame activities will beckon.
And after defining all of the changes to this already included daily and weekly PVE & PVP game content, they make the following statement,
Did we mention that you’ll need to confront the immediate threat first? Oryx lies between you and these challenges. You'll need to survive his wrath to partake in the new endgame
The reference to "new endgame content" is not only to new TTK-exclusive content in the format of the update, but to the revamped daily and weekly events overall. So according to the weekly update, you will not get access to any of these daily or weekly activities until you complete the TTK story, e.g., purchase that game. Many people are arguing that this is not the case and that it will be the same as the first two expansions and access to any of these events will only be restricted when a particular strike is from TTK, but that is contrary to what the Weekly Update from Bungie states.

Why would you still play Destiny without TTK?
-
1 Antwortenim pretty sure if you still play destiny ur gonna buy ttk
-
I stood in line to buy Destiny at midnight day one, put tonnes of hours into it. I definitely got my money's worth. Buying the year two content to continue isn't a big deal. (Although seriously, we deserve a digital upgrade version from ps3 to ps4).

Without purchasing TTK, it appears you will no longer be able to participate in endgame activities. Unless Bungie specifically comes out and says so. We will know for sure in 13 days.

4 AntwortenBearbeitet von Shadows802: 9/1/2015 11:33:16 PMUmm. Yeah, talk about a frivolous lawsuit. A.) the are no damages b.) you own nothing in the game, you purchased usage rights nothing more c.) good luck finding a judge that'll accept the lawsuit in court. d.) a class action lawsuit is when many lawsuits have been filed separately but has common theme therefore it is lumped together your solo action would not constitute a class action by any means. e.) are really retarded enough to post it on their forums?

Haven't most people beat all the content from vanilla thru HoW so what's the point? With out the dlc they still get the vog, poe, Crotas end, and regular pvp. The other stuff won't matter cause they said that the rewards will be ttk items so what's the point of doing weekly events if you can't have the rewards?
you're an idiot
-
3 AntwortenThere's very little reason to keep playing this game without continuing to purchase the expansions.
-
1 AntwortenFrom what you have said and have no legal information included on how you could make a class action lawsuit I will conclude that you're an idiot.
-
1 AntwortenAren't you the same kid who was yelling on the forums about wanting to start a class action lawsuit. But even failed to comprehend your own self about Alter or remove content clause in the ToS and EULA
-
Who would still play destiny if your not buying TTK ? Nightfall to get what? You don't get access to new exotics.
-
5 AntwortenBuy the DLC you cheap -blam!-, support the game, maybe Bungie will have enough money to buy that island nation they always wanted at the end of year 10.
-
15 AntwortenIt's year 2. Who do you think they care about pleasing... people who support the game or cheap freeloaders? If you don't like it, find a new game. You may not want strikes to be new content that you can't play, but here's the problem: Everyone else doesn't want to be stuck playing strikes and content they played endlessly in Year 1, just so the people stuck in the in the past can play weekly outdated content. Move up, or move on.
-
Bottomline: if you dont buy dlc, your game will keep on shrinking, which is to be expected. Some of the overhauls simply dont work in the old format, so it gets left behind. I dont see how this is a real problem, you arent taking the game seriously anyway if you dont get the dlc's. Its a game that progresses over time, if you dont get those new progressions, expect to get left behind.
-
13 AntwortenSave your lunch money and you can get it.
-
Anything with taken army you can't play because it's the expansion you can't play the revamped strikes because it has the taken army you can't play the expansion without paying for it all other content play you little heart out
-
1 AntwortenIf you don't have the DLCs, there's honestly no point in playing the game.
-
9 AntwortenWhy would anyone play Destiny in year 2, without purchasing TTK? That's would be like watching the 1985 Bears super bowl, over and over and over and over and over...
-
1 Antwortentoo much text. guess its whining again. wanna play destiny? buy all DLCs. who doesnt buy them obviously doesnt wanna play destiny anymore.
-
4 AntwortenJust a way of blackmailing people to buy their dlcs.
-
So buy TTK.
-
3 AntwortenWe are entering year 2 now. That is 365 days later. TTK is now accessible to either early stage players or new players alike. Assuming someone refuses to buy TTK buy still wants to play Destiny (strange to say the least) I suspect Iron Banner will be an avenue although power level difference will likely see them getting destroyed. IF Nightfall is still available to all players there are 5 new TTK strikes in the rotation so expect plenty of 'expansion required' weekly activities for some time.
-
Too much read. Get to the point.
-
Why is it a bad thing that the game is going to utilize the new strikes and missions? Would you rather the weekly's only ever be the original strikes? That would be boring. Stop moaning about the game moving forward just because your not willing to move with it.

7 AntwortenLike 99% of the community I read 3 sentences, noticed it was an essay then stopped reading. Get to the point. Keep it short. Or Noone will acknowledge it. (Read it)

I'm fairly sure something I've read states a lot of things open up as you ding 40. I can't imagine they'd totally remove endgame for people without TTK but it will be restricted I guess as it has been for other dlcs.
-
This is perfect. I'm tired of them catering to those who don't pay for the dlc. Ever complained in crucible that you've played the same maps over and over. Well that's because they don't add the 6 or so new maps into the playlist because some people woudnt be able to play. So they make a stupid playlist for the ones who pay to play those maps. It's stupid because it may only be one game type a week like HOW control. Make it the other way around so you who don't pay can be screwed over not us
