I have no doubt that players are still going to use the Subclasses Defender, Sunsinger, Gunslinger, and Blade Dancer in PvE when the the Taken King is released. After watching the Shield Brothers strike, there is no doubt that Stormcaller and Sunbreaker are way better than Voidwalker and Striker.
The two new subclasses are better in PvE than the older ones for these reasons.
1) The supers are more controlllable
2) More Damage Potential. ex) Titan melee boss then ever shot became a critical hit shot.
3) All supers focus, to a degree, on area of affect damage, but the new subclass are more effective at this.
ex1) Titan can create multiple sunspots for damage and protection.
ex2) Warlock's arc shots chained through enemies, which was great for clearing the room.
ex3) Striker and Voidwalker supers are one shot supers that hardly do enough damage.
4) New supers have better and actually useful perks.
There was reason why Warlocks and Titans chose to use Defender and SunSinger over Voidwalker and Striker in prison of elders. Those two subclass need to be updated somewhere in the future because outside PvP those subclasses will be left behind.
How can bungie make these subclasses better? Improve energy drain on Voidwalker. Make the strikers melee more meaningful. Strength the supers in PvE.
Tell me what you think. If you agree with me, how do you think the subclasses should be updated?

1 AntwortenI was curious to this myself, with all the new passive and additional perks to the game there seems to be old move sets that are never used as is that could be updated with with taken king to allow improvement with each class. I'd personally like to see the passive abilities of support classes do more like that of the Nightstalker. "Light of the Pack: Killing tethered targets creates Orbs of Light for your allies." " Courage of The Pack: Killing tethered targets increases Recovery and Armor for you and nearby allies. Stacks up to 5 times." "Black Hole: The Void Anchor has increased range, lasts significantly longer, and can tether more targets." It's a great perk for the Nightstalker, but compare this to the other two supports Sunsigner and Defender. Defender has a play style that is let me throw up a bubble to protect and assist, Sunsingers as a play style of just stand next to me and you'll be find., the Nightstalker (like the other Hunter classes) Seems to play more on the aggressive side actively trapping (as if that wasn't enough) and the giving bonus damage to you, your allies, and dropping more orbs. So its fair to say that this style is better if you are an aggressive type, and the risk (little as that is) is worth the reward and then some. You'll buff your allies better than a sunsigner, make as many or more orbs than a defender, AND allow yourself + teammates to deal more damage. So why bother running other supports? Fire Born and Weapons of Light? Honestly the old classes will need only SMALL buffs like Radiance spawn more than a single orb on kills and always (yellow named or not) spawns two orbs. Radiant Skin also provides damage resistance to those under it's affect not just the one casting it and maybe change Sun Burst to making an enemy for burn damage and while burning the target takes more damage. This could also be added to Viking funeral because I like the idea to still spawn more orbs if needed. Defender change Armor of Light, need to give over shield PLUS damage resistant, in PvE on higher levels aka lightswitch this is a useless perk with only gaining a damage buff that doesn't actually provide a buff or forces you to use an exotic to make it useful (Helm of Saint 14) Blessings of light can be improved by taking adding recovery bonus and spawns more orbs when activated, weapons of light does what it needs to. Melees are actually fairly good as is, maybe the last one can be changed to instead provide a buff of more damage with weapons on a kill. And honestly the rest of the perks are more focused on helping the Titian stay up which in turn helps the team keep there shield. Over all I do not like the idea to just keep buff because then how will harder content be a challenge, and how will PvP be balances if there are supers everywhere and certain enemies that cause their to to basically be immune to damage, maybe that would be more fun because of the strategy but it'd also be broken. What are your thoughts?

Void walker is the best

3 AntwortenI like the new supers except the hunters. It seems alittle useless to bind enemies for like 3 seconds but i think later on other perks will make it more effective.

I believe in the most recent Game Informer interview they did with Luke Smith and Mark Noseworthy that they said they were going to look at the old "kits" (subclasses) and see how they could make them as powerful as the new ones. They didn't elaborate further but it looks to be something they will look in to.

Seems like it. For pve i would say only defender keeps up with them.

1 Antwortenthey did mention updating old subclasses so they hold up in year two

1 AntwortenNo just think of it like this... Warlock gets blade dancer, titan gets golden gun, hunter gets some new cool shit that looks capable of significant support much like the titan bubble

So you have seen all this you talk about? Or this more gravy for the taters?
