Bungie Weekly Update 12/04/2014:
"In the months to come, your quest to become more powerful will have more avenues that lead to satisfaction. The last thing we wanted was for you to look at your favorite gun or helmet and decide that it had become obsolete. Since the reveal, we’ve read a lot of ideas for how this could have been done better. Your feedback is clear: The time you have invested in your stuff should be respected."
How much sense does 10 years with the same weapon becoming boring make? Let us decide when we're bored of our gear and when we want new gear. Put more time in and move our gear up with us. Respect the players a bit more. People are very indifferent about this topic. Many people say "I'm interested in the new gear but this is such a drag"
Nothing can justify the time spent collecting and leveling gear and have it all become useless at the end of year one. This makes people indifferent towards finding joy in collecting and leveling gear. I personally have collected every exotic weapon in the game, fully maxed them all out and then ascended every single one to 365 willingly after they said they would never make the mistake of resetting our exotics again or leaving the behind. This is outrageous.
If you condition your player base for the entirety of year one to collect and ascend gear, that's what we're going to look forward to when we log on to play. If you condition us to not get attached to gear and not to collect gear, for many people the amount of hours they play will drop immensely. Collecting is the reason I poured nearly 2000 hours into this game. Collecting is a very important part of what drives this game for many people.
This far in the future they have to know how to improve our old weapons and armor to be better. They make all of this stuff out of blue little glimmer cubes for gods sake...
No matter how many times you try to make our old gear obsolete there's always going to be outrage. Just get used to ascension being part of destiny and stick to it. It was a shard of hope for this games individuality
Our legend is defined by our weapons and gear. Jaren wards legend was defined by his weapon. This weapon is known as "the last word" he used this thing until the day he died. Not for one year.
Edit: Bungie continues to stand firm. Don't give up!
@DeeJ_BNG @Bungie honestly I'm not trolling you but everything said from year 1 contradicts what you're saying about year 2!

@zoomquake Year Two is a new beginning.
Edit:
So after the Shield Brothers strike live stream it has become clear to me that the "all new, more powerful gear" doesn't seem more powerful, they do more damage because they are allowed to, but the higher attack value and defense value is the only difference.

1 Antwortenid thought itd be cool to use one weapon such as my the supremacy for the 10 years just cause it sounds like a folk lore legend in my head. "this warlock was always seen with his sniper the supremacy. a gift given to him by the awoken queen. so many minions of the darkness has fallen to that weapon."

I probably keep mine just to see if I can kill oracle faster with it or it the new wepeons problably keeping found verdict, fate bringer vision of confenice, corrective measure, and foil

3 AntwortenAgree. Raid weopons and exotics should remain I really don't care whether or not other "mmo" style games ignore the time of their player base. And yes we were told that Bungie learned from that mistake and they will learn from this one as the next Dlc comes out ...and forget about again in year three.
-
Yep....but since bunige won't listen to our word. We need to let them listen to our wallets. And leave TTK on the self.
-
1 AntwortenThey should be more creative with their enemies, in game mechanics, and other things so that we will be more inclined to add other weapons to our rotation. Instead it's just make their power obsolete.
-
It has all been a giant waste for the players but not for bungie. Jerusalem Christmas I can't believe they're making these radical nuts decisions against the majority. That's not integrity that's just stupid. Bungie are a joke now. How they screwed up their flawless reputation.
-
2 AntwortenYes, it is sickening. If Destiny was was a theme park, Bungie would be their owners pushing you to do rides you don't want to do. You maybe eventually want to do those rides, but right now you're enjoying the other rides! Bungie: "Okay, if you don't want to do the new rides, we close the old ones, so you have to try the new ones!" Okay, maybe a weird metaphor, but this is the way I feel about The Taken Wallet.

I totally agree, when the house of wolves dropped they said they'd learnt from their mistakes. Guess they haven't.

6 AntwortenBearbeitet von ELRaSun: 8/21/2015 1:46:24 AMBottomline, it should be players choice. It's about creating a personal Legend right? If a guy wants to constantly switch weaponry, and at the end of 10 years brag that he's used every weapon in the game... Let him. If a girl wants to brag after 10 years that he shot every alien in the game in the face with Fatebringer... Let her. If an exo wants to brag after 10 years that they skilled their way through the whole game with nothing but a No Land Beyond.. Let'em! Personally, I wanted Gjallarhorn since the on stage reveal. It was the most badass weapon I ever seen in a shooter. The golden wolf heads and all. I knew I wanted the chest of alpha lupi and the gjallarhorn from Before Alpha... Because they LOOKED badass. I got Alpha Lupi early on. Hype! It took me all the way until I beat Skolas to get Gjallarhorn... and its already being phased out from under me. If I want to keep rocking the coolest looking shit I ever seen, and mix/matching the rest of my gear and arsenal with new and old weapons.... LET ME. That's how you win. Give the players infinite choices and combinations. As opposed to trying to manipulate the pool of items and falsely balance / create a false sense of progress. Esp when most of the guns, ships, sparrows and armor are just reskins of each other.

1 AntwortenTen years with humter titan and warlock is boring. Why dont they add a diferent guardian?

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von pacificdune: 9/2/2015 7:36:02 AMWhat's even more silly is that husk of fatebringer will still be dropping from Templar in hard mode VOG, and all those new TTK customers will be scratching their heads wondering why they just beat the Templar and received a raid gear reward that is not useful. FAIL, Bungie.
-
1 AntwortenI don't want to actively use the same gun for ten years. I really just don't. I want new shit. I also want to be able to pull out a year one gun for giggles, and be able to use it in whatever current level we are at. I want to have it as a trophy of sorts. Like a permenant piece of how I play. But I want new guns. I'm excited for them. What everyone seems to be forgetting is that TTK isn't out yet, and we don't know for sure what's happening with our old weapons. But what we do know is that Bungie has heard us. They know we want to keep our guns. So let's just wait and see.

7 AntwortenBearbeitet von Endless Spheres: 9/2/2015 6:03:45 AMGear reset. Deal with it. Or don't play The Taken King. I don't really mind which one you do.
-
2 AntwortenI may not have had a gun for 10 years... But I can honestly say the 2-3 on my glock 22 hasn't become old yet. I keep it bc I can rely on it. Bc it does its job. And bc it does its job well. Down the road - when I SEE FIT - I may upgrade to a 10mm.. But it'll be under my control and at my judgement when it happens... Bungie should think about things like this instead of trying to force players Into a template or rabbit hole.
-
3 Antwortenexactly. I am the one who should decide when it's boring. I am the one playing, not them. When I get bored with a gun, I will move on and use another one, but that should be MY decision because I am the one playing.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Clayton o tron: 8/26/2015 3:28:09 PMWe should buy up all the disc copies of destiny that are selling for $1 right now and make a twitch stream of us shooting them with our favorite real guns. We can kill 2 birds with one stone by defending both sides of the coin. We can display our anger at bungie by using violence and show all the whiners that if you don't want your gun taken away, buy a real one :)

Bearbeitet von DizzAce: 8/24/2015 10:06:09 PMI am still confused as to why it's so difficult to create new guns that are so awesome that it makes me want to put my fatebringer down. And no, it doesn't have to be the exact same perks! Legit I'm gonna spout ideas as they come to me right now just to show there can be new and interesting ideas. Here's some perks: Defect - last bullet in mag temporarily turns enemy into ally (obviously not bosses) Freeze - bottom half of magazine slows enemies movement and gun fire Roadrunner - Precision kills allow remainder of magazine to be fired at twice the speed TNT - If trigger is held after a shot, bullet becomes explosive Marksman - 3 precision kills within 5 seconds grants extreme boost to stability Boomerang - Some bullets return to gun damaging enemies twice (Rockets) Slingshot - The longer the trigger is held down the greater the velocity and blast radius of the rocket Again, these are off the top of my head, some may suck, but the point is there are so many possibilities to make weapons interesting and not just be HoW junk. I have no problem with grinding if the process is fun and I really feel like Bungie has forgotten about the fun factor.
