Take that last gen haters!!!!!!!!! Whats your new excuse that last gen is holding destiny back?!!!
Edit 1: I do plan on updating prior to destiny 2. Just waiting for a slim version of the ps4. So stop with the elitist comments that I'm to poor to upgrade.
Edit 2 : I provided a video where the author explains why the ps3 is still the best!
Edit 3 : PS3 FTW!
Edit 4 : the ps4 is not slim! Its not a slim version. Some of you kids don't understand that Sony always makes slim versions of each console. The ps1 was already slim yet sony managed to make a slimmer version of it.

3 AntwortenIt was more how they coded the Vault. They couldn't just shove more spaces onto the screen as it would've broken last gen. This is how it was coded, unfortunately. They wrote new Vault code that allowed for the tabs so everyone can have increased Vault space without hassle.
-
3 AntwortenI think the vault space thing MAY have been a labor of love from the dev team. Most likely a technical hurdle? Plausible. I deal with devs on a daily basis and I'm not all that surprise if one or more of them kept at it until they figured out how. In the end, they did it.

7 AntwortenWho thought vault space was tied to the console..? That's just plain stupid. We ARE being held back by previous gen though. - terrible netcode and prediction methods for X1/ps4 because they're from 10 years ago - 30fps engine - 6 player max fireteam (see above network) - non stop errors from inconsistent coding. The list goes on.. Vault space is not on that list though.
-
2 AntwortenI'd hate commiting all that time on a earlier gen console and have to rework for all my stuff..
-
1 AntwortenThe spec differences and capabilities between gens has nothing to do with love and hate. What was the point of this thread again? How does it contribute to the community at large? Yeah... #muted

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Hippo_Legacy: 8/20/2015 4:09:21 PMit was holding it back, they have multiple pages because last gen doesn't have the ram to support all that shit on screen at once. Now they found a solution to that particular problem and a rather simple one at that, but in the future (year 3 I would think) last gen is going to have to be dropped.
-
Actually the same amount of items are rendered on one page as before. 36 is the limit on screen at once, so they just switched to a page system. Last gen is still holding us back.

1 AntwortenSlim ps4? Can it get any smaller?
-
22 AntwortenBungie was the one's who said it. You must be new... just make sure you take advice from the vets seriously and don't forget you will always be a christmas noob, so know your place!
-
We're still being held back a bit (ships exploding and crashing etc that was taken out, graphics lowered, vegetation, etc) but I am soooo eating my words when it comes to vault space ... and I couldn't be happier lol ;) BTW - Bungie did say before HoW that to even give us those 20ish new slots that they had to disable item comparison on last gen and didn't think more were possible.
-
The ps4 is already very slim, just so you know.
-
2 AntwortenSwitch already and trade I for the slim, ball till you fall
-
15 AntwortenYou're holding yourself back, why do people need to covet every single weapon, you tell yourself you'll use but you don't. Hoarders at destiny's finest.
-
1 AntwortenBungie held the vault shit back or some idiot ran the vault. There's the two possible explanations
-
4 AntwortenBearbeitet von Kurasaki: 8/20/2015 4:08:01 PMLast gen is holding current gen back, not necessarily in technical applications but more so in that as long as bungie and other companies can have a scapegoat they will continue to blame shortcomings on past architecture. ... That and the fact that any time that could be used to create more content is wasted trying to optimize and port content towards older gen hardware... Plus Bungie themselves have stated numerous time that content was cut in order to create console/game experience parity so that no one was getting a suboptimal experience, which unfortunately translates to everyone getting a slightly less polished experience...if u wish to truly experience Destiny's full potential than last gen needs to be dropped...I just hope Activision can cut the chord since every other company has at this point...

1 AntwortenIt was actually bungies "excuse" :)
-
Vault space had limitations in the original Destiny game. There was the argument that last gen was holding back the ability to add any more vault slots. Since we're installing a whole new game it has completely different specs and memory contraints, even though they're just calling it an expansion.

1 AntwortenOlder, less powerful, hardware? :U
-
1 AntwortenIt was never last gen holding back vault space at all. It was always Bungie dev team trying to display everything on screen that was creating the small vaults. Their are plenty of online console game with a bigger vault system, because they used a paged or scrolling display system. Bungie devs finally realised that it is the most efficent vault system and switched to it.
-
Honestly if you think that last gen isn't holding Destiny back, then you are someone who probrably thinks Destiny could run on PS2. (This is coming from someone who owns a PS3)
-
We probably would have had it much sooner though
-
I thought the same thing when I heard more vault space.
-
I blame GameCube !
-
4 AntwortenThe ps4 is pretty small. Why do you want a slim version?
-
14 AntwortenThey keep blaming old gens of holding destiny back but its Activision/Bungie that is holding it back. They could have released the game on ps4 and Xbox one only. Instead it was released on old gens because of profit. Also, correct me if I am wrong, wasn't bungie the one who said they couldn't add more vault space because of old gen limitations. And yet we are getting more with the 2.0 update.

1 AntwortenA slim PS4? Thing is slim as it is. Probably even smaller than the PS3 slim.
