I was furious over the news that all my stuff was going to be obsolete so i started a rant thread.
I was ready to leave the community over it.
Turns out I was pretty misinformed about what was going on.
Thanks to some people on this forum that took a minute or two to correct my opinion and give me some good ways of looking at things, it brought me back into the fold.
But I realized something, people wanting to quit over this or that really aren't the problem.
The ridiculous ammount of straight up jerkoffs that took time to comment on the post with all sorts of insulting, irrelevant, namecalling are part of the problem. People that didn't even bother to read the whole body of the post to see that i had changed my mind after I was shown the light.
Wtf?
I don't personally care, but some of you guys can be real dicks, and i bet a lot of them are the same douches that gloat and teabag and send shitty messages to people calling them scrubs and noobs and not accepting people into raids because they don't have the "right" gear, or are new to the game, or are younger kids, to Git gud or some other juvenile ignorant crap.
You guys really suck that are like that.
Some people even used straight up hatespeech
Look, maybe it gets annoying looking at people's posts that are ranting about quitting over this or that, some are legit gripes over the direction the game was going (like mine) some are straight up stupid reasons that I've seen. Sometimes they're SO ridiculously dumb i feel the urge to be a dick, but i dont because I'm not an ass-hőle.
Look, if it's over something that the person is obviously misinformed about be nice and point it out don't just bomb the person with douchbag comments and push them away, keep doing that and otherwise decent people will leave, and then eventually the only people you'll have to play with will be jerkoffs and douchebags.
I wanted to say thank you to the people that took the time to bring me back
And a big FÚÇĶ YOU to all the douchebag forum trolls.

Fight strong guardians...let no distraction stray you from the truth! Problems or not...we're still playing!

Sadly you're right. But then, what can we realistically expect? This game targets gamblers, the emotionally stunted and route happy cohort that is satisfied with exhaustive incrimental progress and routine devaluation of anything that can be considered an actual asset. Progress therefore, or anything trying to reach for it is quite simply beyond most of these - very craftily targeted - consumatrons.

2 AntwortenDestiny has one of the worst communities ( as far is the forums go, in game is different,) I have ever seen. And that is saying a LOT.

1 AntwortenThey're emboldened by the fact that they're anonymous. These people think that since their reputation isn't tied to their accounts, nothing they say matters. But see, that's where they're wrong. The way you act when you're anonymous is who you really are. They don't have to worry about people pinning them in the future for their behavior. I'm sure the way they act in reality is very different, because reality has ramifications in ways one cannot avoid by deleting an account. Even if I am anonymous, I will not try to make anyone feel bad or make vicious comments at the expense of other's emotional well-being. It feels disgusting.

Amen brother, amen. So many idiots with so-called opinions about something, but they're totally clueless.

10 AntwortenBearbeitet von Luckdog26: 8/20/2015 4:29:45 AMYou know why people insulted you? Because correcting people who are misinformed is annoying. We have to do it, because if we don't correct you, other people will take your information as fact, and perpetuate the misinformation. The reason why it is annoying, is because EVERYTHING can be worked out, if you just take the time to research it yourself. Coming to the forum and posting an angry rant about something that isn't even true, means you've just read something and immediately flown off the handle about it. Which is also a pretty bad thing to do anyway. I insult people on this forum, but only the morons that you are describing. But I personally do find it annoying when I see angry rant posts that are based on misinformation.

Just as real life... Don't get mi wrong, that's something actually bad and sad about life.

Because this is the internet and people are invincible behind a computer or phone screen.

1 AntwortenBungie forums have been similar to this since Halo 2. I used to stay on forums such as Halo2Forum / Halownage / MLG because it was simply children noob central here.

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von CozMcKilljoy: 8/20/2015 2:52:11 AMBecause people hide behind their anonymity. They have no accountability so they get to act however they want to. They spend lot of time on the Internet and take great personal triumph in ruining people's days.... On forms.... This in Itself is very sad.

Because this community is made up of former or current Halo players and CoD players. Two community's who have never gotten along. Add console elitists and you get such a shit community that it nearly comes close to PC community's.

I agree, it's pathetic. Luckily there's still the reddit.

1 AntwortenAlso, this forum is what you make of it. If you don't want to engage with the toxic trash, use the mute button. After awhile of muting toxicity, the forum becomes a pretty good place.

1 AntwortenTry your best to ignore them, meaningless insults are meaningless. Not the best solution for fixing the problem but how do you fix a person's behavior over a gaming forum 0.o?
