Bearbeitet von vRIP: 4/12/2016 5:19:31 PMCivilians will never understand what it's like having discipline, having consequences, leaving your family at 18 to go overseas in a country you've never been in just to go on your first deployment after being in for a year and seeing and doing things very few people will ever do. Having a second family that knows you better than you know yourself because they've seen you when you are scared shitless when shit starts flying. A group that keeps each other sharp, but at the same time level headed and relaxed enough not to let the stress get to you. Training with the purpose of being the best not because you want a medal or to be a celebrity, but because it's the difference between you being able to execute properly and coming home or shit going south and having to explain to your friends family why he's not coming home. Ever since I joined I don't get along with my old friends. I love my family more, but can't stand anyone that's not in my close circle. It's a different lifestyle. It changes you to be a hard person to the point you can't even go to social events because you tell jokes no one understands, you have conversations with people about shit you don't care about, and you can't relate to people's stupid whiny shit.

If there's anyone from the military out there, add me on ps4 if you just need someone to play with. I'm a future marine and it means everything to talk to people that have been there. Psn: mineblown3509

611 AntwortenI am from the UK and personally hate the idea of patriotism and military. Being in the military is nothing to be proud of.
-
1 AntwortenMuch Respect. Is it normal for the American military folk to mention their job every chance they get? I mean it's definitely a fine job to be proud of but I don't see much mention from the soldiers/ royal marines in the uk. Does anyone think alot of fabrications happen when it comes to saying what we all do for a living? If this touches anyone's nerve I'm sorry, I've just grown increasingly curious for some reason

If you can't get behind our nation's veterans, your welcome to step in front of them!

10 AntwortenUS Military personnel.. special? No not at all. Just a job like any other job. One that they chose to do or has the choice made for them by family or government because of one reason or another. That does not make anyone in that line of work any more special than anyone that takes their job or work commitment just as serious. Some people need to get over their own inflated ego and stop thinking that just because they are military they are special or should be treated as heroes or better than anyone else in this word.

5 AntwortenLol Alot of people swear that they go in n just slaughter everyone. I'd imagine shit in the middle east would be better if we just left em alone huh? Cuz, you know, they dont have public beheadings, tie people to trees and -blam!- em, or kidnap, -blam!-, n torture anyone who doesnt put faith in their god. I'm pretty sure that high civilian death toll isnt the military's doing

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Andrewt2332: 8/13/2015 12:44:54 PMTo all of you ignorant people saying “protecting from what? There is nothing for them to protect us from" you are blind, there are innocent people being executed because of their beliefs, there are people who would not hesitate to slit your throat with a smile on their face just because of your religion or the fact that you're American. I myself wish that there was no need for a military or war, but that's not reality, so grow up and stop acting like selfish brats. To quote Brad Pitt in Fury, “ideals are peaceful, history is violent.”

2 AntwortenI'm from the UK and still young (16), just want to show my appreciation for all those fighting for the good, no matter what nationality! Although I do think American's do this the best!! They have to equipment, the tactics and the bravery! Massive bump

1 AntwortenThe ignorance on this thread... Spent 14 months behind a 240 on a CET in Iraq and for some odd reason I cannot recall slaughtering civilians or giving someone reason to create ISIS. I do remember giving children clean water but I don't recollect them blowing up afterwards. My memory of my deployment seems to differ from the memories of these people who have never even put pen to contract. That's weird

L&R to the men and women whom serve our country and sacrifice so much, you are welcome at my table anytime!

God bless America, and thank you for your service. I don't care if others believe that our state of foreign (and internal for that matter, since people have been commenting about how we still are "at war with ourselves") affairs are less than optimal. I don't support war at all, and if it were up to me, I would have all conflicts, issues, and states if suffering in the world be ended immediately. But it isn't up to me, and when others see something that they wish they could have (i.e., certain freedoms that we excercise, our state of living), they tend to get jealous and try to take that thing away. If we just were to give up and allow them to destroy our lifestyle, "for peace", yet their lifestyle is even worse than ours, than what good have we done to the world? If I could give my life to make everyone be a loving and caring person, and love everyone else enough to put their differences aside and actually help them, rather than hurt them, I would do it in a heartbeat. But I cannot do that. Yet, these men and women choose to do that, even if it isn't to create a perfect world, but instead, to preserve those, however few, that choose to live their lives in a kind, peaceful, loving and happy way. Our country is far from perfect, and so is the world. But our country can offer good things to those who wish to do good, and hopefully those people and their wills will be able to overrule those who are hateful and do not possess what these people do. This is why we protect America, and this is why I salute these people.
