I killed Skolas once and that is enough
After 2 hours trying to pass devouring essence while clearing the arena from adds and timing the mines, my fireteam killed skolas. My first and last.
POE 35 loot does not have anything worth the effort beyond the first completion and grimoire card. I got the awoken ship from the queen's chest which I don't have yet. So that saves a bunch of glimmer.
Anyways who else has killed skolas only once and be done with POE? Sherpas and trainers do not count cause obviously they have done several times training and carrying friends.

Yeah some people have trouble with it. My first go at it was with another new guy and a Sherpa, and the skolas battle took us maybe 40 minutes, the rest took under an hour. ( 3 gallies if that was really the difference)

skolas is easy imo. rewards arent great, but the fight isnt really much of a challenge.done it 20-30 times but dont have a reason to anymore either

I agree with OP. Skolas is (IMHO) probably the worst designed boss in Destiny so far and here's why I believe that. >Binds These are fine. Kill the cloaked Servator, then DPS Skolas, no problem. >Taint Here it get's annoying, but it's still pretty chill. >Mines The main issue is mines, because this is where the run can crash and burn. >Skulls Small Arms is a mixed bag, Angry can be annoying with Captains, and pray to whatever lord you wish if it's Lightswitch. The problem is WAY too many things to watch out for. The Taint can wreck a run if the carrier dies and someone is immune. The mines require you to rush after points which more often than not split the group from the tainted one. Then last but not least, depending on the skulls (Lightswitch) you gotta worry about clearing mine points while still moving. The entire run just overwhelms you with too many things to pay attention to. Moral of the story: One and done is all you should worry about, unless you REALLY want the Cipher assuming 34 doesn't drop it for you.

Did it once. Got all the Weapons from the ciphers now as well. The rest of the HoW weapons are crap No need to go back to the prison

I did it twice when we still had burns

My team and I beat Skolas in about 20 minutes with no burn. Its not tough. Communication is key. I will probably do it again sometime.

Just helped a clanmate get her Skolas kill. Got my second cipher.

Well that's 95 motes of light :)))) too funny now they're all doing patrols and vanguard bounties tried to save them two months of ridiculous grinding oh well

Me and my team stopped doing the fight. The rewards are not worth the time put into it. The idea of it is awesome. But each lvl should be random and skolas should drop weapons each kill.

I'm done for now can't hold anymore weapons
