Why does everyone hate thorn?
I don't get it. I have seen it all over ye forums of everyone hating thorn and it is just so dumb. Some even say that you shouldn't use it and assume you have no skill if you use it. That is pathetic. If there is a gun in a game and it is good, why wouldn't I use it? Why would I ever use something worse than something else I have? And you act like it is the best gun in the game. There are plenty better and plenty counters to it. I hope you guys will be happy when update 2.0 comes out. What will you whine about then?
After getting bombarded with crap tell me something other than it being a crutch weapon and that people who use it have no skill. It's pathetic that just because you can't counter people who use you blame your deaths in it and call people out for sucking for using it please tell me something I haven't heard a million times

The aim assist is huge, rate of fire is fast, range is incredible, and impacts is decent with a lingering damage that makes it so you can two shot someone with a headshot or shoot someone to the head and a body shot with final round. That is why it's overpowered and a crutch.

It's not so much that I hate it. I'm just sick of hearing and seeing it. Suros at its prime wasn't as over used as thorn is. Until bungie starts bringing out decent bounties instead of hand cannon kills and shotguns kills then I doubt the problem will ever go away. People leaned towards autos when they were better than they are just now because of iron banner. They only had an autorifle bounty. So it'd be illogical not to use an auto. That's my opinion on it.

I spent a week getting my thorn, so I'll use it as much as I want.

When you continually out shoot an opponent only to have him/her get a Postmordem in every altercation due to Thorn's DoT becomes frustrating to say the least. Lol. But that's only the ones who are good w/ Thorn. So not much of a problem in Crucible. Trials on the other hand...

It takes a lot of variety out of the game... When 50% of PVPers use it... So yeah.. It gets old

It's not that bad. I've been killed faster by messenger and hopscotch users than I have by Thorn. People hate it because it's a momentum killer.

It's more forgiving for bad players who can't shoot accurately because of the burn damage. For good players it's just easier kills. I think most dislike it because of what it does to the game. It is one of the most viable guns because it kills very quickly, outmoding the majority of other guns (but not all). When it takes so little time to kill someone, it gives less room for counterplay, and makes the game more like CoD. Most people enjoy Bungie PvP due to typically longer times to kill because it rewards skillful play more. Now someone can just snipe you with thorn and if you don't use it you'll be at a disadvantage. Other guns can fight it but they still aren't better.

1 Antworten3 body shots your dead (if your not then burn will get you) 1 headshot, 1 body shot your dead (again if not then burns got you covered) 2 head shots you'll die in less than two seconds with little time too react (then again if you don't thats right burn) Basically its up there with the sniper rifles because it does almost as much damage as a sniper rifle Its also hated for being such a forgiving gun because if you miss a shot and die then the burn will kill the enemy (also the range) Now im no developer but that's broken

I don't think the issue is the gun it's the fact that people hit you with it a few times then run off and let you die. As well as this the fact it keeps your shields down for so long. I don't have an issue with it I do have an issue with the amount of people that use it.

I've never had a problem with thorn the messenger last word hopscotch red death and others can compete or just use thorn if u like it there's more balance then most ppl think ars arnt very good but there not that bad either I've done well with the summoner the few times Ive used it

For me, I hate being killed by the same gun over and over again. Especially if that gun is OP. And it [i]is[/i] OP. Same goes for The Last Word.

Because of the burn damage and the accuracy on Thorn, you can basically run it like a scout rifle, which makes it kind of over powered. After I got mine way back when (Hunter with a blue void shotty T~T) I used it all the time before the burn update, now it's a little much for my taste, and I hate using it in normal crucible. In Trials or IB I'll use it in a heartbeat, but that's only because I know everyone else will be using theirs :P

No one hates the Thorn. Infact everyone loves it... but they do hate other people with one lol
