Seriously, my teammates shouldn't be able to eat 3 rockets and live.
I know it sounds crazy, but there's nothing so satisfying than seeing your enemy shoot a rocket and mistakenly take out a portion of their own team.
In Halo, there was a tactical advantage to getting in close to an enemy team when they had rockets. Why? No one will shoot you (with rockets) if they will take one or two of their own kind at the same time.
Take this scenario and generalize it to supers like Nova Bomb and Fists of Havoc for maximum fun. Do you really want to use your super to clear out one enemy when your buddies are capturing a zone? You might kill one bad guy, but two of your own.
I miss these moments. At least give us the option for friendly fire. Maybe in Inferno gametypes at least?
Sometimes you just want to punch your buddy in the face and teabag the shit out of them.

Wow, it looks like this idea took off!
If this was to actually be put in the game, there would definitely have to be some kind of booting system at play.
The system in Halo worked very well. Maybe if that system were adapted to a degree and customized for Destiny it would be a fit.
And what about PvE? I think some good fashioned friendly fire could be a nice thing.
-
Hell yeah, friendly fire in inferno would be awesome. For when you turn the corner and holy -blam!- there's a dude right in your face so you panic slam his ass only to realise that's your mate.
-
"oh look, there are 3 teammates and 1 enemy. i doubt they can take care of him. PANIC NOVA BOMB!!!" ... "whoops, he blinked away. anyways, i got my 3 teammates. yay."
-
no land beyond should have friendly fire perk

1 AntwortenImagine an exotic weapon with a "friendly fire" perk.
A gun fit for the ultimate troll.
Absolutely terrible. People can't be trusted to be civil on the forums, what makes you think that people can be trusted with friendly fire. behavior i experience in every friendly fire game has been the same. Trolls can't be trusted to as much as play a game without feeling the need to shit on everyone else's fun for the sake of a cheap laugh. I can see it now. spawn in, run forward, get shot *Classy idiot dances then proceeds to homo-erotic activity of Tbag* Disgusting
-
The ONLY good thing about friendly fire is for grenades, because instead of taking that gamble "oh maybe this grenade is my teammates, let's run through it and see", you'll just know that everything is hostile.
-
It would not work for destiny imo, everything in destiny already kills so fast allowing team kills would just make it too hazardous of a game. Destiny pvp is not competitive by any means halo was and that's why it worked.

I love the idea and I agree it only makes sense. But people can't be trusted not to be retarded nowadays, it would inevitably end in griefing.

23 AntwortenBearbeitet von LTCcherno: 8/6/2015 7:05:25 PMPlus there's a trials story that would be even better with friendly fire. Last weekend on Burning Shrine: There's 2 people in this story and they'll remain nameless so let's just call them "Friend" and "3rd" So, I've done all my flawless runs with my crew. Now it's time to go further ruin my K/D by helping out anyone who asks, and it's worth it. Especially when it goes well and pays off. So I join up on a friend of mine who has never even gotten an armour piece. So I figure "hey, maybe I can get him to the lighthouse? I've done it to guys b4?" So I join, the usual greetings and such commence while we wait on the 3rd. A 3rd I've never met b4. Friend vouched for him said he goes flawless all the time and yadda yadda. So we start, everything goes smoothly and we're doing surprisingly well. First 4 wins go pretty smooth. Then we lose 5-4 in one hell of a nail-biter in the 5th match. The matches went well enough, but something about random 3rd bothered the hell out of me. His attitude was terrible, his communication was next to non-existent, and he was kinda stubborn. In the nail-biter 5-4 match he tells me that I shouldn't use a sniper because it's such a sissy way to play "But hey, we're winning so it's hard to argue. Keep sniping." But then the 6th match starts... We're up 4-0 and we're in the home stretch. We have the outside spawn, so I sniper to the catwalk area and find nobody. When I check the hallway I get greeted with a firebolts being thrown right at me. Being both tagged and Burning, I run away. And I notice that all 3 of the enemy fireteam are running right at me. I call out "Left! Left! Pull back to the left! They're all here!" Well, me and friend pull back to the left to get a better vantange point and to not get boxed in. Well... 3rd decided he should rush all 3 of them with his shotgun and grenades. I snipe 2 of them and friend Thorns the last guy to death and we win the match 5-0. "Where the hell did you guys go?! I was by myself!!" I reply "We pulled left when I called it out!" "Nobody said that!" "Yeah, I did. That's why friend was left with me." "Look, we play differently! You have your p***y sniper and I have a shotgun. You worry about you and I worry about me." "So... You play stupidly is what you're telling me?" This wouldn't have been so bad, but the worst part was that friend agreed with 3rd and started getting on and yelling at me about how much of an unreasonable jerk I am. So I'm like "OK, you're right. So in the seventh match we win 5-2 and then we get to be 1 win away from getting friend to the lighthouse. I check 3rds grimoire for a reason you'll soon find out. I don't even inspect the other team. I message all 3 of them. "The guy I'm playing with is a prick. Feel free to kill me. I'm the female hunter in all black with the Trials cloak and the Messenger. I'll move around but I won't shoot. Enjoy this experience how you see fit." So the first 3 rounds they just kill me like normal, and teabag the hell outta me. Just me, and friend and 3rd don't suspect anything which makes it very hard to not bust out laughing. Then it comes to heavy round... Oh my word... So we grab our heavy ammo, they grab theirs. One of them gets a double down on friend and 3rd, leaving just me, and so the fun begins. I'm standing still and all 3 of them walk up to me. And since they know the fix is in, one walks right up to me and starts dancing. I shoot him point-blank with Truth and kill us both. Now friend and 3rd know what's going on. And they are salty. The it's match-point. They're up 4-0. They kill friend and 3rd leaving just me again. I sit down, and then all 3 of them sit down in a triangle around me! Imagine my tiny little huntress surrounded by 3 Giant armour-clad titans! And we just sit there until it hits over-time, and then all 3 of them hit their fist of havoc and kill me!!!!!!! Many, many, many laughs were held on my end. And of course, I was teabagged and danced to hell. Friend and 3rd are ridiculously salty since there is now a loss on their card. No lighthouse for them. And in my opinion they don't deserve the grimoire, the Emblem or the Adept weapons. And b4 I leave the party, I say "Hey 3rd, I checked your grimoire! You've never been to the lighthouse you lying little sack of shit! And I just brought close just to snatch it away from you!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" THE END PS- I'm a great guy. I'll help anybody with anything. Just don't piss me off. And thus post makes me wonder how I could have trolled them if I had friendly fire.

1 AntwortenWhat happens when you fire a pvp rocket towards a teammate striker super, kill him and the enemies or when the noob uses rockets in the shield at atheon.
-
I'll vote for this. 👍
-
Hey OP you might want to add the specifics of the friendly fire/boot option in halo to your post. Alot of people don't seem to get it.
-
Bigger pvp maps then maybe.
-
1 AntwortenThat sounds like an amazing idea but the downside to it is that if you are put in like a dragon strike or weekly heroic some players will take advantage of it and screw you up or purposefully kill you entire team
-
Fate of All Fools or GTFO... We want nothing else... THE BASTARD...
-
No thank you
-
I remember playing battlefield 4 on hardcore and when a teammate was a scrub id kill him, revive him and then kill him again...

Bearbeitet von Ostensibly: 8/7/2015 10:34:20 PMThe system in Halo only worked for griefers and the butt hurt who didn't get to the sniper in time. Do we really want that again?

2 AntwortenWho is this 'we'?

Yep, as long of they boot people for doing it too often
-
1 AntwortenPVP- There goes everyones KDA ("OH, we were going to go flawless.. .BUT FRANK SHOT HIS DAM ROCKET WITH US ALL THERE") PVE- This would make raiding and nightfalls way more fun
-
Yes!!! I can finally kill Randal the Vandal!

9 AntwortenI would love it sometimes cause my buddies are always stealing my super kills. But for a decent way to implement it u should have to have the whole fireteam to have it on for it to work on anyone who is on your team so little kids can't over use it in crucible.
-
maybe if we had friendly fire, people wouldnt jump in front of rockets
-
I just want to be able to complete a strike and put a throwing knife in my buddy's dome during the cooldown counter.
-
Hell yes they need friendly fire, then people would learn how to not crowd a single doorway/chokepoint. The only game where friendly fire would be bad is probably titanfall. Collateral damage is huge over there lol
