Somewhat-alive post.
This was a rant post I made a few months back calling out the people complaining about Year 1 legendaries not ascending into Year 2 quality. It became quite popular, with many criticizing me for calling Destiny an "MMO". Whatever you think it is, it was never the intended point of the thread, but quickly became it. I shut the post down due to how each side would viciously attack each-other, and how it just got annoying after a while.
It seems I was right about some things, and wrong about others in the end. About a couple weeks after my post, the first livestream for TTK revealed Exotic Blueprints, and how not all Exotics would ascend into Year 2 (Though it still seems to be up in the air if they will ascend eventually, but until then R.I.P MIDA)
I also said it wouldn't really matter, as the legendaries would be replaced with better guns. I think I was right on that one, as I am loving the style and capability of these new guns, although I know some would probably think the opposite.
The new additions in TTK are a mixed bag for me in total, but overall I think the good outweighs the bad.
In the end, I really enjoy TTK, and I'm glad that fan attitude towards no Year 1 legendaries going in didn't destroy the community attitude. The guns are great, the story is great, the soundtrack is great, and the overall experience is great. I'm glad Bungie put all their effort into this and really delivered an experience worth the price of admission.
Hopefully this post dies.
But after the constant necrobumps over the last couple months, I doubt it.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaand Bungie adds microtransactions.

I think that raid weapons should be ascendable, and you should be able to pick one pre-ttk weapon to ascend with a one time use item.

Whats wrong with say in 5 or 6 years ppl c you with a gun or piece of amour and say woe that looks sweet do you remember where you got it. And blam hes on a quest to find said piece of sweet loot. Or am i missing somthing with only the ability to run around with the same 100 or so weopons /armour?

In a normal MMO you don't care because the gear gets better. With Destiny the track record is horrible with making better weapons that people actually want. See any threads that say save the six dreg pride?

And when you fags of the community realize that then you'll stop complaining all the time. And I won't have to hear you complain how there wasn't enough content in TTK. Get shrekt

Yea take issue with point 3. That was pulled out of that reviewers arse. All MMOs will obsolete your gear but, the crutial difference is they give you the option to re-forge that gear or change your newly acquired, better gear to LOOK like your old gear! Destiny will give you neither option!

1 Antwortenfor weapon im totally fine if we have to change to a stronger weapon but armor I really hope that we can still use it just for our guardians appearance, year 2 armor will bring a lot of customization in our looks new player will wonder where do we get that kind of armor and that's the kind of experience I get when playing MMO because in most MMO you can do transmogrification/re-skin the stronger armor with the skin we wanted

2 AntwortenAs much as I love Dinklebot, I'm happy that Nolanbot is replacing him. Peter's voice acting lackluster while his actual acting is sublime. (: I'm excited to use new guns rather than old ones; I love my older weapons that I worked so hard to ascend and I'll hold onto them. But I am also super stoked to use new weapons, especially the new foundry weapons. Omolon all the way, baby! I am aboard the hype train & I'm happy for it! Bring it on!

I do think raid weapons should be ascendable since they are in a different category, or they should make new weapons drop in VoG. I really hope they bring back fieldscout for snipers in TTK otherwise I am really going to miss my 3 spears.
