This was a rant post I made a few months back calling out the people complaining about Year 1 legendaries not ascending into Year 2 quality. It became quite popular, with many criticizing me for calling Destiny an "MMO". Whatever you think it is, it was never the intended point of the thread, but quickly became it. I shut the post down due to how each side would viciously attack each-other, and how it just got annoying after a while.
It seems I was right about some things, and wrong about others in the end. About a couple weeks after my post, the first livestream for TTK revealed Exotic Blueprints, and how not all Exotics would ascend into Year 2 (Though it still seems to be up in the air if they will ascend eventually, but until then R.I.P MIDA)
I also said it wouldn't really matter, as the legendaries would be replaced with better guns. I think I was right on that one, as I am loving the style and capability of these new guns, although I know some would probably think the opposite.
The new additions in TTK are a mixed bag for me in total, but overall I think the good outweighs the bad.
In the end, I really enjoy TTK, and I'm glad that fan attitude towards no Year 1 legendaries going in didn't destroy the community attitude. The guns are great, the story is great, the soundtrack is great, and the overall experience is great. I'm glad Bungie put all their effort into this and really delivered an experience worth the price of admission.
Hopefully this post dies.
But after the constant necrobumps over the last couple months, I doubt it.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaand Bungie adds microtransactions.
In the same day.
Well.

I agree with you, but I can also see where they are coming from. Fatebringer is one of the original weapon in the game from release, and since then we have yet to see a primary pack so much power and have so much use. Word of Crota, jewel of Osiris and the PoE hand cannons still don't compare. At 300, fatebringer can do more for you than a 365 handcannon. If they actually offer weapons of equal calibre, then maybe people can move on but from the looks of it they are nerfing everything.

10 AntwortenDestiny is not an MMO, why are you people so stupid? Do you even know what that means?

You should give this a read if you haven't read the game informer article on TTK https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/144138917/0/0 People should be excited.

1 AntwortenIt's not an mmo. There is nothing massive about he multiplayer aspect. I believe the most a single lobby can sustain is 16, that is not massive. Halo could do that. Battlefield goes even higher, still not massive. To be an mmo, every guardian who is patrolling the cosmodrome would be able to see and interact with each other. This game is amazing, it is an online multiplayer with some mmo tendencies, but it is not an mmo.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von FrankPrime: 8/7/2015 12:38:09 PMPeople complain because they want to play easy mode destiny. They want a gjallarhorn/fatebringer/black hammer in order to beat a strike/raid in under 2 minutes. Not sure whats the fun in that. Those kind of players are not real guardians. They are a shame.

And I didn't realize exotics can be ascended. This true? I get to keep my Invective forever?
-
I don't understand people who want to be using the same gear 5 years from now. Sounds boring as hell. I can't wait to find the gun that makes me think Fatebringer is trash.

Rainbows.

4 AntwortenBump! I don't care about weapons But what about armour? Hope we can ascend that because I want everyone to look different. Going to miss my VoG armour
-
I'm curious on whether those stats are real. And to which group I'm helping.
-
Don't know why people are malignancy big deal about it we didn't get to ascend pee dark below weapons in the dark below what's the difference now?
-
I'm keeping the best of my legendary weapons as trophies, I'm ready to move on to new gear
-
Honestly i just want transmogs or a social slot. I could care less about most my weapons

11 AntwortenDeej pretty much made this thread a bunch of BS, he made it clear, year one weapons are still good in year one content, so if you still plan on doing it then don't delete them, I personally won't go back so I'll delete mine.

It is normal for mmo's you are correct. However the difference between this game and say world of Warcraft is that replacing older weapons with new weapons each expansion alters the "feel" of your character. Each weapon in this game has its own unique feel to it and that is completely different than other mmo's when the only difference between an old weapon and a new weapon is how it looks and what stats it has.

1 AntwortenMy gripe stems from the fact that they said we were leaving our gear behind with TDB. We pitched a fit, and with the HoW, they allowed us to ascend the Legendaries (proving, by the way, that we CAN change things by being vocal enough). Now they are apparently reverting, and not giving us any information. That, and the fact that the Legendaries have gotten worse and worse, according to popular public opinion here. The PoE and Queen's weapons aren't very good. If they make weapons that are on par with my favored guns, I have no problem playing to earn those.

I think I still will do good in coming Iron Banners even if I'm lower level because of loadout: Exotic primary, sniper special, rocket launcher heavy.
-
But then i want a bigger vaultspace

2 AntwortenDestiny must be the only MMO where you can't join a friend at the Tower because there are already 19 other people there.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Miofwin: 8/6/2015 8:42:01 PM
MMO
You clearly don't know what massive means.
I literally don't care about the year 2 update making my current weapons redundant, either. I'm actually looking forward to the revamp.
