Edit: Thread name changed due to community retardation (not all, obviously, some put up an amazing argument, and have ultimately answered my original question)
The throwing knife gets a buff when brawler is active, which is a melee boost. But for example, during the Iron Banner and crucible bounties, shoulder charge counts as a melee kill, but throwing knives do not.
I know its a 'ranged weapon' but still sits in the melee slot. And it still considered the hunter's melee ability, just like the titan and warlock have flame punch, energy drain melee, etc

Um, because one is melee and the other is ranged...?
-
Well shoulder charge is up close and personal hence "Melee" throwing knives, are not.

1 AntwortenTo give titans an advantage with our T-Rex arms. There's a reason people joke about strength being a worthless stat for titans... because we can't hit a damned thing. Hunters could complete this bounty half way across the map if they were half decent at aiming. When I think melee, I think about being punched in the face, not throwing knifed across the map (CoD gives me enough memories of these try hards).
-
Because you can get a kill across the map with a throwing knife, can you get a cross map with a shoulder charge? No
-
1 AntwortenIt's the hunters throwing arm . Piss weak!! Next question !!!
-
The bounties asks for close quarters melee kills. What happens if you throw the knife at someone who is close to you? Literally the only thing I can think of.
-
The bounty says get X number of kills with your close ranged melee. I was confused about it at first, then I read the fine print.

2 AntwortenWell face armour has has some major advances lately. Also shoulder charge is an "ability" not a meele.
-
Well by its very use of being thrown it becomes a projectile, no body to body contact. Whereas putting your shoulder in someone's face is body to body contact.

1 AntwortenI love how most people defend shoulder charge by saying it's a perk, and must be specced into, without touching on the fact that for PVP, where knives are relevant, hunters use incendiary blade....an additional perk...speccing into more damage. Same argument holds true. A perk that allows you your one shot melee should give me mine. At least mine is on a REAL cooldown, and takes some form of aiming.

10 Antworten
This thread is now changed to Weekend Recipes Cinnamon rolls Ingredients: 1 packet instant yeast, 1 cup unsweetened almond milk, 1/2 cup Earth balance (vegan butter), divided, 1/4 tsp salt , 3 cups all purpose flour, 1/2 Tbsp cinnamon, 1/4 cup + 1 Tbsp sugar, divided. Instructions: In a large sauce pan (or in a bowl in the microwave at 30 sec increments), heat the almond milk and 3 Tbsp Earth Balance until warm and melted, never reaching boiling. Remove from heat and let cool to 110 degrees, or the temperature of bath water. It should be warm but not too hot or it will kill the yeast. Transfer mixture to a large mixing bowl and sprinkle on yeast. Let activate for 10 minutes, then add 1 Tbsp sugar and the salt and stir. Next add in flour 1/2 cup at a time, stirring as you go. The dough will be sticky. When it is too thick to stir, transfer to a lightly floured surface and knead for a minute or so until it forms a loose ball. Rinse your mixing bowl out, coat it with canola or grapeseed oil, and add your dough ball back in. Cover with plastic wrap and set in a warm place to rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough into a thin rectangle. Brush with 3 Tbsp melted Earth Balance and top with 1/4 cup sugar and 1/2 - 1Tbsp cinnamon. Starting at one end, tightly roll up the dough and situate seam side down. Then with a serrated knife or a string of floss, cut the dough into 1.5 - 2 inch sections and position in a well-buttered 8x8 square or comparable sized round pan (you should have about 10 rolls). Brush with remaining 2 Tbsp Earth Balance (melted) and cover with plastic wrap. Set on top of the oven to let rise again while you preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Once the oven is hot, bake rolls for 25-30 minutes or until slightly golden brown. Let cool for a few minutes and then serve immediately. Optional: Frost with dairy free cream cheese frosting or a simple mixture of powdered sugar and almond milk.
It should at least count as a melee kill
-
3 AntwortenBecause it says "close-quarters melee". A thrown knife isn't close quarters.
-
Shoulder charge is close quarters and throwing knife has range...

The first ever "Hunters need a buff in PvP" post. Whats next "Please buff shotguns and Thorn" posts?
-
One head shot with a hand cannon, then throw your knife. Insta-kill. Also, when you have his head locked on, it'll aim assist for the knife.

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von deathblow1030: 8/5/2015 12:14:13 PMLet's get this straight, this is a game that regards space magic as the rule of thumb. Let's just throw out realism 1st. And secondly, if you want a knife to 1hk a target, then why does it take a multiple bullets to kill the target when? And lastly, almost all the top PvP players in the world are Hunters. A distant second are Warlocks and far far away are Titans. Hunters don't need a buff because they reign supreme in PvP. That's the PvP world hierarchy. In PvE, it's pretty much even out throughout all 3 classes. You can't go wrong with any class here. So regardless of melee strength abilities, supers, and armor load outs, Hunters are a unique class that caters to the PvP environment. Perfectly built to kill other guardians. Sorry to say that but it is what it is. Hunters rule in the PvP world. So why buff a knife when it's the human tact and skill that wins the match? Btw, I main a titan defender, sometimes I wish I could just throw my fist across the map at other guardians but that defeats the purpose of being a defender. Cheers!

Cause you can throw a knife at a distance, Titans need to be at melee range which is the same range as shotguns! You know what a shotgun is? It's a special weapon the one shots at close range!

So a titan was able to kill a Kell with a headbutt. While wrestling with it. So he killed a kell without even needing to work up the momentum of a shoulder charge. And we've all seen that a Kell can survive Gjallarhorn shots which no Guardian can do.

You are wearing a helmet.

Because that would be OP as -blam!-.
I understand that the titan shoulder charge is powerful, but I mean come on. . .how can getting hit in the face with a flaming knife not kill you
Because it's supposed to make lunchboxes for your fellow guardians.
