Edit: Thread name changed due to community retardation (not all, obviously, some put up an amazing argument, and have ultimately answered my original question)
The throwing knife gets a buff when brawler is active, which is a melee boost. But for example, during the Iron Banner and crucible bounties, shoulder charge counts as a melee kill, but throwing knives do not.
I know its a 'ranged weapon' but still sits in the melee slot. And it still considered the hunter's melee ability, just like the titan and warlock have flame punch, energy drain melee, etc

3 AntwortenShoulder charge=using your body. Throwing knife=throwing an object. Not that hard to figure out......

16 AntwortenBearbeitet von JonahUniverse: 8/6/2015 7:37:39 AMHmm. This never occured to me. I agree. The shoulder charge also has somewhat of an "auto aim" that forgives sloppy gameplay, while the throwing knife requires absolute precision. It SHOULD be a one hit kill. I feel that it WOULD be, if it wasn't your primary melee ability. The gunslinger melee should be something else entirely with the throwing knife becoming a perk like shoulder charge. Edit: apparently you all think the throwing knife has an amazing hit box or curves corners to hit targets. I'm not saying your liars or are exaggerating, but as someone who has more hours in a hunter than any other class, I can say I NEVER saw this to be the case in PVP. I think I've only been killed by a throwing knife like, 5 times. And each time it was a panic melee as I killed them.

The game register damage from up close such as melee an air next to someone kills them. Since you're using a weapon that is not close range them it negate the melee count

3 AntwortenI'm still surprised there's no Exotic armor that boosts the Throwing Knife in any way. I'd like to see exploding knifes for use in PvE or something.
-
2 AntwortenThe warlock melee doesn't require physical contact either.
-
Throwing knife counts for PvE melee bounties.
-
Will the new nightstalker thing in the me lee slot count as a melee him hum HUM...
-
7 AntwortenPfft, try being a sunsinger trying to complete the super bounty.
-
Because shoulder charge is a melee and throwing knife is a projectile
-
To melee something is to attack it physically, or with your own body or something "attached" to it. Once the knife leaves your hand and is thrown it becomes a projectile and is no longer a melee attack.

Shoulder charge is love, shoulder charge is life.

haha do you even have to ask???? just use common sense....maybe if you stabbed with the knife but not threw it

4 AntwortenBounty says close quarters I believe. Requires you to be kissing them to finish the bounty.
-
That's weird it counts on the PvE bounties.
-
Throwing knives also work towards the Knuckleduster bounty as well. Never payed enough attention to it not applying to the Crucible bounties though.

BECAUSE -blam!- LOGIC!!! THATS WHY! -Bungie

6 AntwortenBecause hunters take the most skill

Read what the bounty says... It says something along the lines of "close quarters". Throwing a knife across the room doesn't count as "close quarters". That's like asking you can't get the 9000 XP bounty done while your dying after every 8050 XP. A bounty is something to be completed for reward. If you venture outside the requirement, you don't get the reward. It's simple.

57 Antwortenpeople survive stab wounds to the head all the time. Getting rammed by a truck tends to have a lower survival rate
-
The bounty is for close-range melee kills, and throwing knives count if you aren't too fast away.
-
Throwing knives work from across the map Shoulder charge you have to be next to someone and sprinting
-
2 AntwortenI can't remember, does arc blade count as a melee?
-
Sunsingers and Defenders also can't get the kills with super bounty
-
1 AntwortenThat's weird, since getting kills with it outside of Crucible count towards melee kill bounties.
-
The bounty states for you to get 20 "close range melee kills" in the Iron Banner event. It took a while for most of us to figure this out.
-
Um, because one is melee and the other is ranged...?
