We need a reason to hate Oryx for the story to be good. (Post gameinformer edit)
Edit: ok community, with the article and video from gameinformer i am becoming even more hyped and hopefuk for the taken king.
Cutscenes, more interactions with characters, dinklebot being replaced by nolan north (we need a new name, nolanbot?)
And, hopefully according to the article, a much more story driven way to play the game.
Firstly, day 1 beta ghost edition player and shield of heroes bearer. I love this game and want it to succeed (fanboy status out of the way)
The main problem with Destiny isn't necessarily the story; it's there, clear as day.
The problem is we don't [i]care[/i] about the story and it's told far too vaguely and grimoire doesn't really supplement it properly.
We have 0 connection to the Traveler, Stranger, Speaker or even the people of the city we protect. The most character involvement we get is the Ghost and the Queen and there isn't much there (except the Queen's booty).
My point is, with TTK, we need more than 'Oryx is coming for vengeance and he's being a dick to the Cabal- that annoying race u hate'
We need to have actual story driven cinematics that communicate to us that Oryx is a huge douche and we need to get emotionally driven to kill this guy rather than: 'go kill him cuz game, pew pew'.
Thoughts, Guardians?

Edit: ok so there will be cutscenes, but the content needs to bring out the feels and not just be 'oryx brooding, glowy hand'
Edit: ok so theres a good amount of guardians that feel self-defense is enough and thats fine, but some of us need more. We went to kill the Vex in self defense, but did we rly care while we did it? Or was it just 'lol! Pew pew, o... game over?'

The answer is NO guardians. I understand full well the premise of the story in TTK , but is there a reason to rly care about whats going on?
If theres no emotion behind what we're doing then TTK will just be the same vague, stale mission based fighting that we've been doing for a year now. Its time for the game to take a step up and be more than "go here, pew pew, loot" and actually get us involved in this universe.

14 AntwortenI think it might have something to do with death of our Ghost. It's been stated we're getting a new Ghost voice with TTK, as Peter Dinklage is apparently no longer working with Bungie. What if Oryx, in an attempt to destabilise the Guardians, destroys all their Ghosts?

3 AntwortenPretty much they need to not have oryx as the boss. The boss needs to be a Taken Guardian. Someone we care for. Someone that would make us say -blam!- you Oryx. Oryx needs to live and he needs to harass us a while before we kill him.

He smiles at you, and proceeds to pierce your friend with his blade, squeezing the life from him. His ghost appears nearby, and Oryx grabs it and crushes it with a firm grip. You watch it all and scream, "You son of a bitch!" As you draw your fatebringer and Fire a few successive shots which appear to do nothing. "So, Guardian. Think you can kill a god?" He laughs as he tosses your friends body away. The Speaker comes running in from the Tower North. "Go! Away from this place! Now!" Oryx turns around and replies. "And so you continue to lie to them. Have you told them the difference between true light and the illusion of power you give them? The hole of lies you've dug yourself so far down that you cannot get out anymore? Then so be it. Come find me guardian, and we'll finish this on my terms. Goodbye, Speaker, until we meet again." He continues laughing as he exits the tower. You know now that this God has to die. And you and five others will bring upon his death. And after you're done, a talk with the speaker wouldn't be a bad plan. END There you go. Only took me a couple of minutes. Excellent points. Never cared about any of the bosses in terms of who or what they were at all. Destiny's bosses are more like "shoot this for 8 minutes to complete mission".
