We changed up Trials of Osiris this weekend and rather than playing on one map for the duration of the event you saw a random cycle of the six previous ToO maps. In the Bungie Weekly Update we asked for your feedback on this so I wanted to collect your opinions here. Did you like this experiment with a random rotation or prefer mastering one map at a time? Let us know in the comments below.

I would prefer a smaller rotation of maps, say 3. That way there could still be some consistency when it comes to strategic approach.
-
Great idea we should do this every week. On a side note though, please address the cheaters such as lag switching to capture the zone. Those cheaters are destroying trials.

I loved the map rotation made you rotate the gun stock, change strats, and kept on edge. I think this was a brilliant idea. To improve it better I think spawns should be rotated as well. Some spawns have advantages over others. I'd like to see that balanced and the easiest way is just flip flopping every round. Good work.

I only played on Burning Shrine once. Mostly played on Thieves Den and Widows court :(
-
Random maps were more interesting than the same map for the whole weekend.
-
I throughly enjoyed it better then getting board on the same map all week!!! Thanks bungie!!! Helped me get flawless agin to

I approached Trials this weekend expecting it to be awful, but surprisingly, I thoroughly enjoyed the rotation. Mainly because it was only "sometimes Pantheon" instead of "always Pantheon". But still, swapping spawn side rotation is very much needed between rounds.

Map rotation = meh

26 AntwortenBearbeitet von user: 7/28/2015 7:19:18 PMMap rotation was cool, but it would be great each week. Do it like once in the month like Iron Banner. WE NEED SIDE(SPAWN) ROTATION EACH ROUND TO MAKE IT MORE FAIR Your maps are unbalanced. On each map, there is always a better side you can start from. WE NEED ANTI-CHEAT SYSTEM for LAG SWITCHERS. If you don't ban cheaters and lag-switchers, this mode will be annoying and unplayable.

4 AntwortenBearbeitet von Recon: 7/28/2015 6:14:14 PMOne map per week. i like being able to not even consider doing trials when i find out its on cauldron or widows court <- Stupidest maps in the game where as this week i had to chance being put on the bottom of widows court ( Stupid unfair by the way). So one map forever burning shrine k thanks bye

Bearbeitet von Speck311: 7/29/2015 10:52:51 AMCan't tell if anything is good or bad when latency/some kind of host advantage seems to always be the deciding factor.

I'm just gonna do another short summing up post. I prefer the one map a week style most of the time, the rotation is fun maybe have it once a month (first 3 maps, rotation, next 3 maps, rotation) however it would be better to have some new maps added as well to the one map a week rotation

2 AntwortenRotation good, but still got the odd the map back2back, so needs a tweak to ensure we never get same map back2back. Would love to see some other maps in there, but I'm sure it's to do with the £$€¥ thing that there aren't!.

1 AntwortenNerf the thorn now or ban it from trials all together and keep the rotation

2 AntwortenHi Bungie, The rotation was a nice mix up to the usual one map experience for ToO, sometimes however we would get maps twice in a row which was disappointing but still ok. It would be great if you could introduce spawn swaps during each round which would really mix things up and make it an equal playing field, even better would be random spawn points and not the usual A and C to further keep us on our toes. The current maps in rotation are already getting stale, I saw a tweet from Derek that with The Taken King more maps will be added, but it would be great to add Asylum or Blind Watch etc to the mix before the next expansion hits to keep ToO fresh. Lastly anything you can do to get rid of people who deliberately lag to win would be great, it's a real issue and something that needs to be addressed. Thank you and have a good day.

1 AntwortenThe rotation made it interesting but not necessarily better. People saying it favours skilled teams and doesn't give newer teams a chance need to consider the fact that that's what Trials is meant to do, 9-0 is supposed to only be possible to achieve by the best teams however at this point the exotic emblem has been completely devalued as somehow some terrible players have been able to find people to carry them now. You can come up against teams all with the exotic emblem and then destroy them 5-0 as they're just lost and probably don't deserve it anyway. The map rotation yes made it interesting but instead of keeping the SAME MAPS over and over again I'd actually like to see a new one from the Vanilla Destiny for once! There are obviously some maps that people love like Shores of Time that some people want to be featured however it is so unbalanced towards the C side it would be a terrible choice, in the same way Rusted Lands spawns the flag in an absolutely insane place that completely advantages the team that spawns at C. However there are some maps such as The Anomaly, Twilight Gap and possible Asylum (maybe a bit small but then you picked Cauldron and that's terrible) that would make really good Trials maps and the fact that they were available in the Elimination playlist proved that you already have them set up for it! So instead of asking if we should keep the rotation could we try out some new maps instead it would be far more interesting to have a completely fresh map.

If you added Vanilla maps to the rotation other than just Burning Shrines that would be better than playing only those 6 maps

Honestly i dont like rotation. Id prefer to have a clear picture on what is coming so we can plan in advance strategic rush or counter attack. It also improves your map expertise. But I want to respect those who like it, so why not having rotation just as another "map" in the "random" playlist? Agree also on spawn rotation every 3 rounds (something like Tennis)

Keep the rotation it made it more fun

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von DiagnosedGhost: 7/29/2015 7:06:03 AMRotation was good, but not perfect. It added a much needed variation and reinvigorated fire team communication but rotating maps heavily favored more skilled teams and completely disadvantaged new players. It makes it nearly impossible for an average, new destiny player to learn how trials is played on all six rotating maps in order to compete with those who have played trials since the release of HOW. My clan would like to see maps to continue to rotate, but limit the total maps in rotation to three. For example: Week 1 rotate Burning Shrine, Pantheon, and Cauldron Week 2 rotate Black Shield, Thieves Den, and Widows Court We believe this would offer some variation and allow for strategy experimentation and learning/teaching trials map awareness. If you truly do think you would prefer a continued map rotation that is limited to three maps please comment/bump for Cozmo. Edited: for Poopypeanut02

I like the one map a week style. It lets you make a solid plan and heavily prepare for that map. (Which I need to even have a chance at the lighthouse.) Some new maps would be a nice change. Maybe some of the originals.
-
Keep the rotation but a way to stop you from playing widows court FOUR out of the nine games.Make it so you can only play the same map twice then it will choose another two maps before going back to the last one you played twice.
-
Keep it random
-
More variety can make any game better. I wish Bungie added variety to everything else though like enemy spawns, story missions, etc.
-
2 AntwortenIt was great until some maps (maps I have a personal dislike of because of the advantages to one spawn) like cauldron. I straight up don't like theives den so that's a biased opinion. Burning shrine is unbalanced but not as bad as cauldron. Widows court is my personal favorite.
