We changed up Trials of Osiris this weekend and rather than playing on one map for the duration of the event you saw a random cycle of the six previous ToO maps. In the Bungie Weekly Update we asked for your feedback on this so I wanted to collect your opinions here. Did you like this experiment with a random rotation or prefer mastering one map at a time? Let us know in the comments below.

4 AntwortenThe map rotation is fine if you want to do it occasionally, but it definitely penalizes teams that aren't as hard core as some others, who may need a little while (and a passage card or two) to become comfortable with each other and build a team synergy on the specific map. Limiting the rotation to one or two extra maps, would be good to help teams with this struggle if the map rotation were to become permanent fixture. That being said I far far far prefer a single map, because I feel like each week my team comes to the map ready to learn it and get a feel for what teams will do and how to counter that. This makes the game more strategic than regular crucible, because you get a feel for the strategies people are employing each weekend. My team always fails the first card until we get comfortable on the given map. That doesn't make us bad players, just players who prefer to approach problems with a little strategy, which just cannot be built very well on the rotating map structure. We have beaten/come close to beating carry teams (and have also been steamrolled by other streamers) because we just focus on strategy and not trying to outgun people who we know will absolutely outgun us. We've beaten teams who absolutely outclass us, because we try to play smart. Planning is our strength, and rotating maps makes everything far too random to be able to plan more than cursory things like: what guns are best, and which area to try to control. We'd have to shift how we approach ToO and I don't prefer that shift that much, I really enjoy the strategic element. It'd be ok if it was not a permanent thing, though. That makes the occasional weekend where it's all about on the fly decision making, since you can't really expect anything. Rotating maps also removes the internet meta from the equation, where people discuss preferred strategies on a given weekend map and help each other out on reddit posts. It makes ToO more "bland" because even if it's different every game, it's the same every weekend.

1 AntwortenLoved it. Made the experience a lot less boring.
-
4 AntwortenTrials should always have rotating maps, so it will take more skill to go flawless
-
3 AntwortenI liked the rotation of maps I think this is exactly what trials needs to keep it fresh yet tactical. Another ask would be a greater pool of maps. One step at a time hey
-
1 AntwortenKeep map rotation. Also add spawn flip every round.
-
1 AntwortenIt was awesome

4 AntwortenHey cozmo, just wanna let u know that bungie is full of NO GOOD SCRUBS, YOU SHOULD NEVER HAVE TAKEN THIS JOB BC THEY WILL EVENTUALLY SCREW U OVER JUST LIKE THEYVE SCREWED US AND JUST LIKE THEY SCREWED MARTIN THE MUSIC GUY FUKK BUNGIE U IDIOTS CANT EVEN DO STHING AS SIMPLE AS KEEPING MAP ROTATION DUMBASSES

Bearbeitet von Anomaly107: 7/31/2015 11:25:16 PMBungie needs to keep the maps in rotation. having only one map only gives the tryhards the advantage. Bungie should really keep that element in trials and also add spawn switch after like 3 wins. this way it makes the game more fair for all players.

WTF BUNGIE?? U FILTHY SCRUBS Y would u ask for feedback and then not take it? Clearly way more people want map rotation and then u go back to one map this week does that make any -blam!-ing sense? IF U WONT TAKE OUR FEEDBACK THEN DONT ASK FOR IT U NOOB DEVELOPERS

Map rotation was fun last week. I'm not sure which I like better, but I DO know spawn sides should be switched each round if the map stays the same. The Cauldron, for example, is cake if you spawn by the stairs.
-
2 AntwortenSpawns should swap each round. You know this.

Map rotation is fine. Lag in TOO/crucible as a whole is not. Would gladly play more pvp if I didn't constantly trade kills in battles I should have won with everyone at redbar....
-
You would probably get more valuable feedback posting this on Reddit. That being said, I think it made the matches more complicated. Whenever a map came around that I like, I played better. But maps I don't like(Black Shield) I lost on consistently.

The question to ask is this: Are you OK with players still playing trials after they have done their passages? Yes - Keep rotation No - Take rotation out (or make it once in a while) Why is this relevant? Let me explain. Friday and Saturday, I ran flawless 3 times. Few easy games, a few tougher ones, as it normal.. On Sunday and Monday, we ran again for a friend and every game was ROUGH. Every team we ran into were full emblem, 'sweaty' players. Each game was close, but losing was inevitable when each match was so close. My conclusion? People were playing it all weekend even though they've done their passages. The rotation made Trials more like regular Crucible, flawless players were carrying on because they like playing Trials. I agree, it's a great mode and was playing again myself of course. When I did Cauldron 3 times I was like 'thank gosh I don't need to play that map again' and didn't go back. Playing the same map up to 21 times in a row was enough for me and I suspect many others felt the same. But when I did 3 times on the rotation I wanted to keep playing, as did everyone else I met later on in the weekend. I'm happy either way, but if you view it as a dick move to stay in Trials for no rewards then don't rotate. Great mode, btw Solar Jewel next time plz..

Bearbeitet von Giantpanda: 7/31/2015 4:03:34 AMI love it and hate it 1 I loved the map rotation because it made you think harder of what you are going to do it was very enjoyable 4 me personally in that sense 2. I changed weapons almost every game due to what map we are playing i might run dead shot Luna patience and time, last word and longbow, Mida and rude awakening it took experience and knowledge to know the map to define the loadout you were to use Now why I hated it 1. Thorn 2. Thorn (But really) 1. New players will have a harder time with map rotation because the maps switch each week I have seen newer players like some of my friends get angry when a thorn hits them or a blink shotgun swoops in on a trials map and for all of you who think you should have 1 map you only want an easy flawless why not have a challenge each week it will make you better players due to you thinking more I have seen it and if you doubt me fine stay in the 70% of players 2. Someone's spawn can become the outcome of the game if you spawn in a great snipe spot looking down on the other (I don't remember which it was but) side by rusty car and blue truck (real imaginative right) you will win the game everytime due to that and if you spawn stairside on the cauldron you are going to win because you got a good spawn have rotating spawns even COD has that I mean its a little bit ridiculous you need to cater to the active players that devote a hours into your game Every day but still have a friendlier attitude towards newer players because the story certainly didn't do that and here's my solution to that 3. If I know what your company loves since the activision taint is $$ and if a veteran tells a newer player this game is hot they're gonna buy it and if the Newer players friends see he's play only destiny for a month then they might look into it and the more people who are going to buy your game and make you more money than you know what to do with so please work with the community and if Cozmo or ninja if you are readings this you can't give the community silence like deej did even though he tried he never did reach out to us very much Cozmo I seen your destiny profile you have high Kd and judging by your emblem you've gone flawless so you know all of what I've said so far so please don't give the community silence be active I loved your reddit and you do the same with the forums so just do it!!!! Make our dreams real!!!!!! All in all bungie should keep map rotations but have 2 maps each week and it will benifit newer players greatly

Bearbeitet von Esteban: 7/31/2015 5:02:50 AMI liked the rotations, I would love to see it stay :]

Keep the rotation, that way people can't abuse camping spots on the same map over and over. Also forcing players to develop different strategies on different maps. Map rotation Will make ToO much better
-
-
2 AntwortenI prefer mastering one map at a time.
-
4 AntwortenI didn't like the rotation, I thought trials was hard enough to get flawless the way it was as I am not a constant crucible player so one single map for me to focus on is better, I play more pve but like to get all loot available in game.
-
1 AntwortenThe overtime capture point should randomly change spots
-
3 AntwortenBearbeitet von Charlemagne: 7/27/2015 11:57:15 PMI liked it as a one time thing since my team knowns how to play each map well, but I think it should be a rare occurrence. While it made things fun I'm not sure if I'd want that each week. I think a better option would be to have a single map each week but some how have that map different than the standard version of it, specifically for ToO. Edit: That or forced loadouts.

2 AntwortenI dont like the map rotation at all. I want it to be one map every weekend. It makes it feel like regular elimination and i cant take it seriously. Trials is my favorite thing in destiny. Theres a real competitive edge to it and 1 mao every week makes it feel unique. You can build strategies on how to play and not have to worry about the map changing. I often felt like it was hard to go 9-0 when different maps would turn the tides. Having the sameness in every game kerps this winning flow for your team. I strongly dislike the rotation. The original concept a single map was in my opinion the best way to go for trials. It gave it some uniqueness and diversity. Hope you take away rotations bungie. Keep up the good work!

Personally I thought the map rotation was a good idea. One map per week made Trials a bit bland but I think there is a bigger problem that should be fixed which are the spawns. If one team gets the better spawn, it puts them at an advantage straight off the bat. A bit unfair right? It would be better if the teams would switch spawns after every one or two rounds. It would give both teams a fair shot at victory.

Keep the rotation

1 AntwortenMap rotation is good for the experienced but worries me when it comes to new players. It requires u to have team work and skill but if your new, it maybe a lot harder. I know that trials is for the competitive and hardcore players, but if your goal is to also bring in new players, u might want to think about.
