1.) we, in United States, live by a massive drug dealing cartel infested Third World country known as Mexico. The shipment of arms across the border will never stop. This is one reason as to why gun laws would not work in the United States. They work in other countries such as Canada, United Kingdom, and elsewhere in Europe due to the lack of Third World countries that closely border it. Canada has entire buffer zone in between Mexico that they are protected by.
2.) The United States is also connected by land routes to this Third World country. This makes the cost of imports of weapons significantly cheaper here than it would be in other places such as the United Kingdom or Australia. This makes it so that criminals can buy guns from the Mexicans cheaply, quickly, and safely, also, since our orders cannot be regulated over the thousands of miles that border Mexico

Correct me if I'm wrong, but dont most guns in Mexico come from the United States?
-
yes, the US Government aid to the Mexican Military, to be exact. the US sends them weapon shipments and they leak them to cartels since mexico for the most part, is a corrupt shithole except for the resort parts.
-
Maybe you shouldnt send the weapons over there in the first place. Because, and again correct me if I'm wrong. Arent the problems in Mexico the direct result of the war on drugs?
-
it's a multifacted situation but basically the entire country is a clusterf*ck. the cartels have impunity because the government either can't stop them or won't either because of bribes or threats. one of the big crime syndicates there was actually a break off unit of the military that went rogue. the government there is basically a cold war era puppet for the US and now the cartels.
-
True! But why send guns there then? Doesnt sound like the smartest thing to do!

I still find it strange to send weapons to an incompetent and corrupt goverment, you are basically helping the enemy then....... But nvm, it doesnt matter!
click the link. then it makes more sense
-
Lol, Didn't saw the link sorry!
-
Yes, they do, but the US can still receive weapons from Mexico and they WOULD (the criminals)
-
Yeah but if the guns didn't go there in the first place that would be less of a problem right?
-
Nope, you still have the entirety of South America
-
Please do some research.... In reality, it is far easier and cheaper to get a gun in the U.S. Than Mexico. In fact, the real problem is the thousands of guns being smuggled from the U.S. into Mexico each year. These American guns are bought cheap legally and then sold on the Mexican black market for many times their value. These very weapons are the same being used by the drug cartels against U.S. Law enforcement.
-
this is factually wrong on several levels.
-
No, this is not
-
You really think that if the US banned guns that Mexico wouldn't have guns? Kek
-
That wasn't what I said at all. My point was that the cartels are in the business of bringing guns from the US to Mexico to be sold. The guns in Mexico stay in Mexico. Guns on the US blackmarket can be legally purchased through a straw purchaser, stolen, or sold by corrupt dealers but the ultimately the blackmarket source is US not Mexico.
-
That's not how economics work No supply in the US would make it so that Mexico would sell our weapons back to us
-
How would there be no supply? That is a hypothetical scenario that was never suggested in any of the posts and isn't realistic for America - a country that has as many guns as citizens already. You describe "how gun laws won't work". I'm describing the reality of current arms flow between the US and Mexico
-
Really? Come back when you have a grasp of the topic at hand He's talking about removal of weapons from people and the halting of production. Gun laws wouldn't work either. We live in a toxic environment of hatred that Aussies and the UK don't have to deal with. Blacks riot and murder over a long dead issue, Fundamentalist Christians purge "the wicked", and illegal aliens are supplementing rampant crime, gangs, and the agenda of gun control proponents in an attempt that has clearly failed in cities such as Detroit.
-
The post is about the removal of arms from the citizens, so if you want to post about how removal of arms from citizens and stopping of their production is a bad idea, then go ahead
-
That makes a lot of sense.
