I was walking through Wal-Mart yesterday and happened to see a family, half of which were on their phones. There was a small child with his own phone and another with her own. They both looked about 7-8 and I was in awe as I am 14 and have to wait until my birthday (Aug 19) to get one. Should kids under 13 own a phone?

2 AntwortenYes, emergencies can happen at any time and you need to be in touch when they do

My first phone was a flip phone. Whlie everyone in high school had smart phones.

Get the -blam!-ers Blackberries lol. There's probably some connection to cellphone use and liking CoD, and blackberries are essentially brick phones now. Except for the Solitaire functionality.

6 AntwortenAs long as they aren't white girls Seriously all the girls in my school are on Instagram. This one told me not to text her but to "dm" her Doesn't anyone know what a PM is?

Didn't get my phone until end of grade 8. I didn't really need one either because I wasn't on Twatter, Facefuck or Instabang. Don't see a point in giving anyone under 13 a phone; although possibly if I had this stuff my opinion might change. Regardless, I've seen pretty fascinating things. People sitting together and instead of talking they're texting someone else or that person sitting next to them. And, technically speaking, you need to be 13 in order to have a account on "social" media.

2 AntwortenEach one of my cousins under 6 years old has their own iPad. Each one of my cousins under 6 years old is also a twat. Coincidence?

2 AntwortenYes? It's extremely useful to be able to contact your parents quickly when you're a kid.

1 AntwortenI don't really think it matters. Technology is inevitable so you might as well prepare them for the future. What bugs me however is that as the oldest child of the family, all of my younger siblings have gotten smartphones at a younger age than I did. And it's especially irritating when they complain about me getting to do things first, all the while ignoring the fact that while I'm doing it first, I had to wait longer than each of them did.

Why are people saying they'd give them a phone... but not a smartphone? Even now, there's barely anyone with a "regular" cell phone. Once anyone here has kids, (if they haven't already), "regular" phones are going to be even more dead. No one's going to accept one of those.

1 AntwortenSmartphones and kids don't mix well.

I think phones are ok. But not computer-phones. You know, the phones that let you go online on these horrible forums? Among other places? Not those. But just a phone? Thats ok.

NO! Not until they are old enough to pay for their own phone and show some responsibility.
