Will you survive?
Ok so you guys are stranded on an island after your plane crashed you are the sole survivor. The island that you washed up on is inhabited by snakes,wild hogs rats,birds,spiders,bats and insects.
The climate is hot during the day and cold during the night.
The island also has tropical plants and trees such as medicinal herbs,coconut tress,banana trees and dragon fruit trees.
There are also two caves both inhabited by bats one cave is closer to the shore which leaves you vulnerable to unexpected climate changes however you have fish and suitable ground to create fires.
The second cave is deeper into the island which protects you from climate change and you have a steady amount of trees and wild hogs but the deeper into the island the more common the insects and snakes become.
You are only able to choose 5 items listed below. How do you survive? You have to convince me.

The entire cabin of the aircraft (I didn't see any restrictions of the part of the plane) I would first make my shelter a lean to in the beginning using the hatchet to cut down trees and leaves, using the wiring from the planes cabin as rope and add on from there or stay in the cabin of the plane if it was night. Using the tinder box to create a fire from coconut husks and other dry vegetation so I can cook/dry/smoke my food and sanitize my water or desalinating it using a sealed metal container and metal piping from the planes cabin. Also creating three large prepared bonfires on each end of the beach and in the middle to signal any boats or planes and using any plastic materials from the planes cabin to make a contrasting black smoke. The mirror would be the only reflective surface on the island suitable for signaling for rescue from a far distance even with obstructions like fog. The bowl would be used as a container, since other materials would be difficult to make into a durable container. Also, since I washed ashore, so would the bodies of other passengers. Which I would use for bait. Either fish, bats and hogs. I would also have to make spears using branches and attaching any jagged metal from the planes cabin. Also using the seat cushions I wold create a lifted mattress so I don't have to sleep on the ground with the rats and insects. Also, having to dry and preserve any meats using my fire like smoked fish/meat or salted fish/meat using the salt from the desalinator. Making fishing traps using the wiring, lift raft and hooks made from bones of hogs to fish. Using the chair frames to create a dam so during high tides the fish will go past the dam and when the water recedes the fish will be trapped. Also fashion a net from the cabin carpeting. Possibly using hog dung as an insect repellant by lighting it on fire. Coconut meat mashed into a paste for sunscreen. Or maybe some dragon fruit jam. Mmmm. Anyways, that's all I can think of for now.

1 AntwortenAxe, matches, blanket, magazine, and the radio from the plane. I choose the cave at the beach. I will make a visit to the forested area to collect some wood. I use the axe to make a spear out of a stick and use it to fish. I use some other logs, sticks, and the pages from the magazine to make a fire with the matches. I live in a warmer part of the world so the high temperature shouldn't be too much of a problem. I can use the blanket to warm up at night. I use the radio to try to contact other planes or land.

1 AntwortenAxe mirror blanket bowl plane part(door which has one of those emergency slides/rafts built in) First, I chop down a tree and use the branches, along with the plane door to create a impromptu wall on the cave near shore. This gives me a shelter more protected from the elements. Shelter? check. Next, I dig hole, and place the bowl in it, covering it with fabric parts from the door, pinning that in place, and putting a rock on the center. There's a water supply. Next, I make a fire pit near the cave, but not too close to the water(not in the cave either, because the smoke trapped in there would kill me). I can use the hatchet, mirror, and rocks on the island to spark a fire. Next I locate fruit trees, and observe to see which plants the animals eat. Now I have a food supply. Next, I craft a couple of spears out of wood and whatever scrap I have from the door. Now I can hunt. Once I kill one or 2 hogs, I can skin them, cook the meat, then make tools and supplies out of their bones and hides. Finally, I can use the mirror/fire to signal to passing ships and planes for rescue.

2 AntwortenHatchet Small bowl Pair of shoes Part form the plane (emergency raft) Compass I would use the hatchet for about everything. Building a shelter, cutting firewood, crafting weapons like knifes and spears, etc. I would use the small bowl to boil water. Having a pair of shoes is a necessity when on a jungle. The last thing you want is to get cut your foot cut and get an infection. I would use the emergency raft for a raised shelter to keep me off the group and avoid dangerous animals and bugs. I would use the compass to find my way around the island and use it to start a fire. Things like insect repellent are redundant when you have smoke; a natural insect repellent. The life raft could also have other supplies like dry food, matches, hooks and fishing line, and a paddle (obviously).

(Can't take this away from me OP, it's not the full plane, it's only [i]part[/i] of the plane because I didnt take that one seat) Plane for pretty much everything. Shelter, scrap metal for tools, Navigation equipment, the raft, etc. Tinder box for fire. Axe for defense, hunting, and coconuts. Use plane parts/fire or the plane's radio to signal help.

1 AntwortenA hatchet for chopping the thin bark of a palm tree down and Killin things, then a wool blanket to warm me up when it's night time. A tinder box for a fire. Also, a dull knife and then I can sharpen it and use it to spark a fire. Lastly, I would take the plane fuel and use the knife on the hatchet for sparks and send the sparks into the fuel and put parts of the tinder box in the fuel to help the fire. Leaving food to be cooked over the fire and the heat keeping insects away from me.

The life raft for fishing and being able to leave the island (you could make wooden ores with an axe and knife). The small bowl could be used as a (more) sanitary place to keep food and could be cleaned easier. Bug repellent to keep many poisonous insects at bay. And you could sharpen the knife with an axe. And carve out a small wooden shield and a small wooden spear to help you kill animals and then skin them with a knife. Cause enough friction with a few items to start a Bon fire and light those logs on fire ( that spell [b]help[/b]) and I would eventually get rescued. I could also use coconuts as a food and drinking source after cooking it somewhat at the fire to prevent disease.
