This is exactly what the title says, obviously. Do I have any specific reasoning? Why yes, I do.
Today, I restarted my Level 32 Warlock in hopes of umborrifying the daily grind of Destiny, and feeling the missions from a perspective that makes them slightly more difficult.
In my way to Level 10 today, I have had some encounters, that, to say the least, were practically crippling as I started off anew. The problem lies with the DLC enemies that spawn for events, bounties, and even quests.
So, as I grabbed my first bounties and head off to the Cosmodrome to complete them, I naturally started off with Patrols. On my way to the Divide, I started picking off enemies to complete the "Unstoppable" bounty.
And this is where it all went wrong. All of a sudden, before my Level 4 eyes, barely able to Glide, a Queenbreaker Captain ends my streak and resets my bounty. But not just once. Four times I was unable to respawn out of the grasp of the Captain, leaving me no choice but to go to orbit.
When I returned, I went to the left, towards Skywatch instead. On my way, a Pack of Wolves spawned and I was burnt to ash within seconds of trying to outrun their Scorch Cannons. Eventually, I made it by them and into Skywatch. As I entered, another Pack started to prowl, and I immediately evaded them. A public event came, so I jumped onto it. It was all going well until another event landed in. Urzok the Hated appeared, and I was swarmed with more than just the Public Event enemies, and then the enemies started moving against each other. Great, more fun for me.
In the short play time I had as a fresh Warlock, I had been killed by countless Scorch Cannons, Queenbreaker Captains that wouldn't let me finish a Patrol mission, and been flattened by mini-bosses that I thought were practically extinct at this point. What I'm trying to say is, well, still the title. Destiny is extremely unforgiving as far as bounty event spawns go, especially for newer players. I found myself dying death after death, as an experienced player. I probably played more Crucible then I did do Missions for the sake if leveling up.
Bottom line is, event spawning needs to be fixed in a way that disallows HoW and DB content mini-bosses and Majors from spawning in on low level players. For instance, if a Level 4 enters an area and is the only one there, the Queenbreaker Captain should automatically despawn.
Personally if I were brand new to Destiny, and this happened to me, I would honestly take Destiny back and get my money back.
With each DLC, it seems like there is only content that applies to higher leveled players; and honestly, that's not gonna work out in the long run. Hopefully TTK will cater to new players a bit better as far as content goes because of the bundle that is available, but this sort of thing still needs to be fixed before then. It's frustrating enough trying to complete a patrol bounty when you have to go past enemies 2 levels higher than your character, but if I see two red question marks than I often hit the breaks and either cry or turn the hell around. Usually I don't have enough time for either before those question marks show up on the top right of my death screen.
Edit: Thank you to the seemingly 10% of you that actually took the time to read the post before replying. To clarify, I have my Warlock back up to its former glory (I saved its armor) of 32, minus the subclass levels.
And a note to anyone who for some reason wants to argue against the sake of new players, put yourself in their boots first. I don't care when you started playing Destiny, but if you started anytime before HoW dropped, then I honestly think you have no right to argue against this considering you didn't have to deal with HoW enemies (and TDB enemies) at such a low level.
This is the Feedback Forum, and I have a right to tell the terrors of what a new player has to go through compared to what some of us didn't, whether you played from Day 1, or Christmas. If you still feel the need to argue on account of you being "too mlg pro", for future reference, just don't post.
Edit 2: I will report your post if you curse at me, belittle me for my opinion, or are downright rude for no reason. Seriously.

They are not that hard man, when i made my warlock i was owning them. I knrw shotguns were 200% damage buff so i used shottys to melt everything thats stronger than me.

The game wouldn't be hard for new players to level up to 20 if the present story wasn't so dysfunctional, and or not existent.
-
2 AntwortenI think that new players best bet is to progress through the story and complete bounties to level up. Once they hit 20 their levels should skyrocket quickly and THEN they should start running those high level public events and missions. It's like in any rpg where there are certain enemies with super high levels at one point in the game, and you simply don't fight them until you level up.

1 AntwortenDestiny I wiping everyone's weapons for new players. Your argument is invalid.

2 AntwortenLol, was the Queenbreaker Captain in the area for the boss fight in the 2nd mission?

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von PersuadedInk3: 7/21/2015 10:56:14 PMI think they should just filter the servers so that low level players are with low level players and high level players with high level players. Only the high level player servers that can handle those enemies should get them spawning. I just started a new player so I understand what can happen.

Made a new psn just for fun, as a low level getting completely tramped Down by wolves

1 AntwortenJust finished leveling my Warlock. The only wolf I found difficult to avoid was the one going to the divide. I feel they should either: A. Remove him completely B. Have him appear only when u have the bounty for him (similar to Xyor who only appears when u have the bounty for him) C. Decrease the aggro radius on him so players won't get surprise OHK'd while trying to fight the enemies right there...

Just deleted my 34 warlock the other day got it back to 34 in 7.5 hrs its not that bad just annoying to redo all the story missions...
-
Made a titan the other day and the same thing happened to me on my way to the divide, about shit myself from shock and then laughed because i completely forgot about that haha. Learned to blast through there on my sparrow, just adapt and overcome. The game is still easy, just pick your battles.

Wow for some reason I wish that was how the game really was on day 1 just take this as a learning curve at least you have an epic story to tell

I noticed the same thing when I recently started a new character. What I ended up doing was only taking bounties that you could do through the story missions and sticking to the story for awhile. I know that's kinda boring but it let me level up. But even on story missions in the common/shared areas you can run into a pack of wolves and it's really frustrating to get one hit over and over when all you want to do is complete an early story mission. If you're a hunter with invisibility, you can get by them. Get off your sparrow, go invisible, get back on, and you and your sparrow will be invisible. With a titan, the flasjbang grenades will blind higher level enemies to let you by. When I was low level I actually got a couple queens chests because I threw grenades that blinded the pack of wolves while higher level enemies killed them. I haven't made a warlock yet so I am not sure if there is an ability that will help.

Dude I thought the same thing when I saw a whole bunch of new levels roaming the planets. Like they drop these level 28's right on your head and they snipe you with the scorch cannon... So my friend and I made it a point to follow low levels around and kill the high level enemies that were near them. xD

1 AntwortenThat'd take too much time and effort on Bungies part. I think fixing the PvP servers should be number 1 but they're too worried about releasing more content without thinking about the past. Like how the VoG was starting out. They "balanced" weapons instead of fixing the game.
-
10 AntwortenI was gonna argue with you but I could see how going it alone could be difficult.. I just had a friend start but I used my Lvl 34s to help him with everything
-
Agreed. How is a new player that hasn't got experience supposed to play and have fun if they are extremely over leveled. Dont get me wrong. With my level 30 and 31 characters it makes it fun. But for lower level or new characters it won't.
-
I sort of agree with you? Honestly I think a better job could be done pointing tough enemies out during the tutorial, like having something stalk by you with the ??? over its head, with a pop-up saying something or dinkelbot making a quip about it while you are safe. Then you know to avoid those enemies, which isn't a bad thing to learn or experience.

5 AntwortenAnd if you ever need help with like anything like poe or nightfall if be happy to help just send me a message at the name above but I can't for about a week

I feel ha man I just did crucible for a long time so I didn't run into this problem but your are completely right they need to make a change or else's they will be shutting out most of the new players and confine there community to the ones playing right now

3 AntwortenDidnt read whole post but i find it crazy that all existing players dont already have 3 classes or there are still brand new ppl joining destiny. Its been 10 months and destiny is on every platform
