trading of any sort would render RNG rudundent and only tailors to the lazy casual gamer who wants everything now and refuses to grind it out like the rest of us. not to mention the obvious exploitation which would insue, it is a common trend now for players to want the best gear "yesterday" or find the quickest way to get it. i know a couple of vets who still don' t have G-horn but do they scream for trading, no! i have had so many casuals who, when they find out i nolonger play, immediately ask me to save my G-horns or Vexs for when trading drops. you know what i tell them? EARN EM LIKE THE REST OF US DID, keep rollin them dice!!!

  • The simple fact is that Destiny implements RNG in order to keep players replaying activities on a weekly or daily basis in order to gain the POSSIBILITY of rewards, it is the illusion of a goal. Trading or auctions would take that need out of the game (not to mention the obvious exploitations), if a casual player can trade for a sought after gear or weapon there is no real need for the repetitive grind of endgame content. Why do the nightfall, raid, iron banner or trials when one can just trade for said rewards without doing much work. Glimmer is easily farmed and materials can be easily purchased now with marks, plus the rewards for a player who is trading the item is low, if a G-Horn is worth 20000 glimmer and the player is already maxed what was the point, same with materials. It just doesn't make sense. It took me ages to get the most desirable weapons, and those who have will agree it's thrilling when you see the drop (I had a friend who invitory and postmaster was full so they lost the Vex... Snickers), being able to purchase them would make said weapons irrelevant and would frankly piss those players off who spent months playing diligently to get those weapons. Yes I agree there should be a better reward system in the crucible for players who do well, but things like nightfall, raids etc should still be random.

  • I agree that you gotta earn'em. The nice thing with a possible auction system is that players will still need to grind for glimmer as well as resources to be able to meet the demand set by the guy selling item. Imagine being able to start a bid at $20k as well as 40 of each resource (spin metal, Ascendent energy, etc...even exotic shards). Any resource. That'll promote plenty of hard work grinding away to be able to enter the auction with a chance to win.

  • At least a loot system that rewards players for doing a good job so it gives them the drive to go for it, not this random shit.

  • I agree in a sense where two friends, one has 2 ghorns and 2 thorns. When auctioning them, they will set a low price for both so their friend can easily but it for something like two glimmer. This is basically exploiting and it would make no sense when a lvl 20 has a ghorn and thorn versus a lvl 34 who has worse weapons. The point is, it may seem like a good idea, but its a little cheaty.

  • Maybe every item has a pre set limit. Only items can be auctioned and not materials. That should take away the exploit
