So during the crucible I stumble across warlocks who instantly kill me with their melee, specifically the life drain one. But when I use my deadlock with the life drain perk it's takes only half of their health. Why is that? What is the secret to getting an instant melee kill?
<<[EDIT]>>: The man was not wearing a ram. There was no lag at the time either. Everyone in the lobby was in the green zone. Aside from that this was not the first encounter...
<<[EDIT#2]>>: Thanks everyone for the replies. Learned a lot about both classes. But there were probably many or little possibilities on how people were able to land a successful instant energy drain kill. But thanks again guys.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Define Darkness: 7/19/2015 11:37:38 PMI feel like no one listens, people, she said specifically Life Drain. Can you use Radiance while hitting people with Life Drain? Didn't think so.

1 AntwortenIt's if you have Radiance active and your Melee ability is fully charged :)

3 AntwortenIn Destiny such deaths most often come down to being team shot. ie, more than 1 enemy engaged you simultaneously. I have both lost and gained many kills to this. Team which cover each other and communicate will often be able to get rapid kills due to you taking incoming from more than 1 player. It happens so fast that you will not register it as separate events. Team work is OP. Go figure.

4 AntwortenHe probably just killed someone with a shotgun with the perk "Up close and/or personal"

When in Radiance, melees are a one-hit.

Radiance?

Space magic

1 AntwortenIt's all those books they lift

All charged melees are 1 shot kill silly

1 AntwortenClaws - gives a double melee charge and snap discharge doubles the attack speed. Virtually nothing survives a 2 slap!

The ram probably

If they had tlw then a hip fire shot and charge voidwalker melee is death

The game is buggy sometimes. Example when you get 1 knifed killed from a hunter blink strike from face to face which is 99.9% a 2 knife kill...

Pocket Sand!

It does OHKO if your shield is not fully up
-
Energy drain is 110 base damage. I've heard of it sometimes glitching out and being a one-hit kill, but if that is an actual bug, it isn't consistent/can't be manipulated.
-
The sunsinger class is built around melee and grenade, a voidwalker melee is not a OHK rest assured, just the sunsinger.
-
The only insta-kill warlock melee is the sunsinger one when you have your super on
-
They were probably in radiance

I just want to know when they're going to do something about all of these cheaters. Makes me not even want to play when they just run into walls and the whole team wastes their ammo killing this guy that should already be dead then he's behind you with a shotgun.
-
The only way that would be possible is by: A) you taking a significant amount of damage prior, B) they used a weapon with the perk Up Close and/or Personal, which adds a 25% damage increase on their melee after landing a hit with said weapon, or C) they used the shotgun/melee combo fast enough that you didn't notice. The only other possible way is if they use the Sunsinger's Scorch melee with Radiance active.

8 AntwortenTitan shoulder charge is instant kill also. And warlock meele has to recharge just like the shoulder charge does. so its not like warlocks are running around just hitting people. Each class has their own perk. I beilve the hunter has a throwung knife that is a 1 hit kill??

54 AntwortenIf you see a Warlock in PvP, just have a seat. Everything they have is better than what you have, so why bother? Melee, Grenades, Supers, movement speed -all better. (Oh, and none of their Exotics suck.) If Warlocks had jump height, there would be almost no reason to run the other 2 races.
