Note: This is not to classify anyone as elitist or superior or anything else. I don't want an emblem or recognition. I just want to reminisce with my fellow guardians.
So you might be a true Year One Guardian...
If you remember scouring the Beta for hours and spending inordinate amounts of time shooting ??? enemies to see if they could die and if they would give any cool loot.
If you listened to the bones in Skywatch "speak" and know exactly to what they are referring.
If you spent hours on end developing chest farming runs in an effort to get ahead on resources.
If you hoarded glimmer items by farming Cabal in Exclusion Zone so you could afford multiples of guns from Iron Banner for each character.
If you got to 26 for the first time on multiple characters by virtue of The Queen's hatred for specific preexisting enemies (in particular our friend the rising Archon from the first mission).
If you didn't have to worry about doing hard mode Atheon at level 29 because that's what level everyone else was too.
If you watched Suros and the Mythoclast's cataclysmic falls from grace.
If you're holding on to a Shadow Price/Grim Citizen/Vanquisher or Supremacy because they're your babies.
If you remember control on First Light (or even First Light in general anymore).
If you have seen Xur sell the Gjallarhorn.
If you remember countless trips to the Tower to rearrange gear on characters.
If you've experienced the sorrow of only getting ascendant shards when you NEED TO UPGRADE YOUR GUNS.
If you seriously contemplated forfeiting a weapon or armour piece so you could upgrade your sparrow.
If seeing "Fangs of Nyx" got you excited... Until you found out it was just an ugly ship.
If you've had several talks with yourself trying not to get your hopes up, because that purple engram is almost definitely a blue... Or worse...
Addition 1- If you broke the Atheon fight into 2 teams of 3, an inside group and an outside group.
Addition 2- If you remember how much Xur hated Warlocks. And/or loved the Sunbreakers...
Addition 3- If you supered at heavy drop in pvp because you got more heavy by killing all the enemies who picked it up than by grabbing it yourself.
Addition 4- If the interceptor driver was the equivalent of a thorn/final round sniper user today.
Addition 5- If you remember hunting 3 fallen walkers. Except it wasn't 3. It was more like 8.
More to come.
Note: No old cheeses will make their way on to this list. This is a noble list meant for nostalgia and pride, not shame and underhanded shiftyness.

This is so true. Im a Year One player.
-
That beutiful loot cave on skywatch 😔
-
Having the achieve 3 gold tiers in public events bounty on your character for a whole week because the events weren't not showing up. This was the case for the 1st week of the games release.
-
Spending Countless hours on patrol farming material to upgrade weapons & armor.. and yes i still have my babies Vanquisher & Shadow Price ready to come out of the vault.
-
When I only had one VoC for NFs - hang on guys, just heading to the tower to drop it off, change character, pick it up then join everyone in orbit. All those chest farming routes as well :D

4 AntwortenIf you know what a Jackolyte is/possess some
-
8 AntwortenIf you spent hours at the "loot cave" just to search for purple engram when they would just end up becoming blue anyway.
-
You saw a guardian in the tower that was level 30 and kneeled out of respect...
-
4 AntwortenIf you remember being so exited for the "red sparrow" the GameStop preorder bonus, then being let down when it was just a reskinned green sparrow.
-
4 AntwortenYou're a year one player if you played year one. The first maybe seven things you list are from the first month or so of the game.
-
Hunting the 3 fallen walkers became 8 because there was a glitch meaning only the person who got the final killing shot received the actual kill to the bounty. I always went to where the walker was in the strike, but in patrol mode. Then no one could usually steal the kill.
-
I remember the beta, going underground in shadowy areas, wanting to explore... Then I saw several "???" Enemies and went "NOPENOPENOPE!"
-
What about playing control on Bastion???
-
If you still have at least one jackolyte
365 Zombie Apocalypse WF47... Or had Rosegold before HoW dropped
-
Farming the first public event of the day because you were in desperate need of shards/energies.
-
Remember why you play!!
-
When we had fallen walker bounties
-
During the beta, when the Devil Walker/Sepiks Prime were frustrating and difficult. I did that mission over and a over again expecting some "awesome" gear. When public events were so cool to participate in. When everyone would run those Queen's missions and dismantle the armor to get endless amounts of shards.

5 AntwortenIf you went to midnight release and still have the receipt tucked inside your destiny case. Do you? I do.
-
I still Nova the other team on heavy drops! Old Habits I guess, I just rarely get Heavy these days :P
-
When you did the the Devils lair and it actually challenged us and took about a hour everytime and when the moon was open for 2 hours and when beta went down for a day and we all sat here waiting for it to come back up and just watched the screen and when beta was over you just opened it up to listen to the music until September came and went.
guys add to this list if me and the thread missed anything
-
Oh god, this list is perfect XD
-
2 AntwortenNot one for the list but for nostalgia sake.... In the alpha and beta, you would spend countless hours just being content to marvel at the beauty of old russia. Scouring every centimeter of the landscape looking for caves and hidden chests. Just turning the game on and when the destiny logo hit the screen the chills in the spine when the music rolled. Oh the good ol days :)

3 AntwortenHow bout you being a 'true' year 1 player if you played the game in year 1? simple.
-
You forgot turning in 5 legendaries and getting energies and shards…
