Note: This is not to classify anyone as elitist or superior or anything else. I don't want an emblem or recognition. I just want to reminisce with my fellow guardians.
So you might be a true Year One Guardian...
If you remember scouring the Beta for hours and spending inordinate amounts of time shooting ??? enemies to see if they could die and if they would give any cool loot.
If you listened to the bones in Skywatch "speak" and know exactly to what they are referring.
If you spent hours on end developing chest farming runs in an effort to get ahead on resources.
If you hoarded glimmer items by farming Cabal in Exclusion Zone so you could afford multiples of guns from Iron Banner for each character.
If you got to 26 for the first time on multiple characters by virtue of The Queen's hatred for specific preexisting enemies (in particular our friend the rising Archon from the first mission).
If you didn't have to worry about doing hard mode Atheon at level 29 because that's what level everyone else was too.
If you watched Suros and the Mythoclast's cataclysmic falls from grace.
If you're holding on to a Shadow Price/Grim Citizen/Vanquisher or Supremacy because they're your babies.
If you remember control on First Light (or even First Light in general anymore).
If you have seen Xur sell the Gjallarhorn.
If you remember countless trips to the Tower to rearrange gear on characters.
If you've experienced the sorrow of only getting ascendant shards when you NEED TO UPGRADE YOUR GUNS.
If you seriously contemplated forfeiting a weapon or armour piece so you could upgrade your sparrow.
If seeing "Fangs of Nyx" got you excited... Until you found out it was just an ugly ship.
If you've had several talks with yourself trying not to get your hopes up, because that purple engram is almost definitely a blue... Or worse...
Addition 1- If you broke the Atheon fight into 2 teams of 3, an inside group and an outside group.
Addition 2- If you remember how much Xur hated Warlocks. And/or loved the Sunbreakers...
Addition 3- If you supered at heavy drop in pvp because you got more heavy by killing all the enemies who picked it up than by grabbing it yourself.
Addition 4- If the interceptor driver was the equivalent of a thorn/final round sniper user today.
Addition 5- If you remember hunting 3 fallen walkers. Except it wasn't 3. It was more like 8.
More to come.
Note: No old cheeses will make their way on to this list. This is a noble list meant for nostalgia and pride, not shame and underhanded shiftyness.

If you remember hunting down each and every Ghost Shell and Gold Chest in the game in the hopes that beyond a G-card score upgrade, you would get something for your troubles like a new ghost shell or Legendary item.

1 AntwortenI never got ahead with materials. Only just barely kept up. It wasn't until we could buy them for 10 marks that I ended up having extras.
-
1 AntwortenHaha. When you pushed Atheon off with 3 people and got your first Vex!
-
4 AntwortenWhen you had to farm chests for planet materials. Today's players won't know the material struggle
-
Aaaah the loot cave...

Bearbeitet von Spice: 7/26/2015 4:15:20 PMWhat about the time you regretted passing up on Icebreaker when he sold it the first time? I certainly didn't. Was my ticket into a lot of VoG groups Or when "We've woken the Hive" sparked amazement into our eyes during those two hours it was open (I think it was two) Edit: re read the VOG part...
-
I kind of miss chest farming, I know I can still do it but there's not much point now
-
-
Hahahha....I remember killing three walkers and never getting credit for a kill on the last one...
-
Been there, done it all.
-
Maybe it's just me but remembering phogoth being tough as hell since no one knew where to shoot
-
First Light was the BEST. Like seriously. The best thing in the game.
-
I remember having to get actual fireteams to do the weekly before they added machmaking, and that the weekly was the same strike as the nightfall.
-
1 AntwortenI don't know if it was like this to you guys but do you remember how we first did phogoth we all thought it was extremely hard.
-
3 AntwortenGoing to the tower after your first atheon kill with your whole group rocking the chatter whites, starting a six person dance party, and having everyone in the tower come join you dancing! Having to stop wearing glowhoo in the tower because if the deluge of invites from strangers.
-
I apply to all of these but three.
-
2 AntwortenHow about when you could exchange material for marks?
-
If you get the reference "beta come back"
-
When fusion rifles had the range of a line rifle

Bearbeitet von Cool Pretzel: 7/26/2015 3:29:37 PMDon't forget the day one emblem and remembering how stupid it looks

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von albinomachina: 7/26/2015 2:00:27 AMMan, I wish I had held onto my old Queen's Wrath stuff. I saw one guy with a fully ascended chest piece once, and I was so jealous. edit - I also remember not being a high enough level to hug the wall at Atheon. That was for the 30's.
-
I wasted hours of my life running around in circles on every planet getting stupid resources. I probably would have quit for good had they not changed it when they did.
